Clive Barker's Jericho 2?!?

I spent a few hours trying to find news, I guess I looked in all the wrong places. Clive Barker's official site references there WILL be a second game released.

http://www.clivebarker.info/newothersb.html#codemasters

Also, the more I looked into this and more I contacted people, I guess there was a petition made, that is reviews by Clive [supposedly, I doubt it] but either way, might as well post the link too.

http://petitionspot.com/petitions/jericho2

From the looks and the hinting about how the next game will start off, and how all the characters will be back, I think it's looking good!

There are numerous reason, but I'll keep it short.

1) This is a unique kind of game for the 360, which releases a new fucking war game every week.

2) It has one of the most unique storyline of any game I have played. Though the actual game play lacked a little.

3) I am a fan of horror game, and in just that category it was original. Most horror style game released these days are the same shit regurgitated.

4) It has a very unique character set-up. Either character having their own supernatural power

5) It's has some fact to it. There are Gnostic scripts that talk of a first born, and individuals that keep it's hell hole locked up. And the reference to World War II and the Roman Empire are correct, the holding place [which in scripture was never named] was referred too in historical books]

6) In just an aspect, I have never become so "obsessed" with a game before. This took me 2 weeks to beat, but because it was hard, because I didn't want to beat it, I took my sweet time.

You also have to take in account personal opinion, I thought games like Gears of War and Deadrising were garbage, with some people love those games. It's a matter of taste.

Really wanna see this come out. I loved the first one. It didn't play brilliantly, but as a realisation of Barker's vision, it was beautiful. I'd go nuts if a sequel was unveiled.

I think if they add the online co-op the game will be way more epic.

I don't see what co-op play would add. Someone on the microphone talking and ruining the atmosphere? No thanks.

in fact, it would only add, because if you don´t want to play co-op, you can play as you normally would. and people who enjoy playing with a friend could also do it.

There's 4 members left? That would make an excellent 4 player team game. Apart from everyone wanting to be Black with her abilities.

On a personal note, I don't think online co-op would add too much, but I know a lot of people would go for it, and would give the game a better reputation, it's got bombed for not having any kind of online play. I heard suggestions for a versus mode, but I think, as much as I love online versus, that would kill the game.

I enjoyed playing the game and the whole idea behind it, but once again it had one of those endings that spoiled it for me. I need something more than just simple obscurity for my game endings - but maybe we'll have some explanations in the next one.

Despite the ending being a flub, at least it left it open for another game! Did Paul Rawlings make it through alive? Seemed like he had an interesting story behind him, I'd like to see that explored!

According to the websites all the remaining members survived [except Ross of course] and yes Rawlings does have an interesting story, if you google around you will probably be able to find it, there was a website that had more about each character but it closed down.

Yeah, a prequel going in depth for all the characters and how Jericho was formed would be the shit.

It would be nice, maybe as a book or something. I just think that, despite the fact that I'd like to know how they got together, it simply can't be as epic or thrilling as the first game, simply because the big bad guy has been "defeated" and the doomsday scenario apparently averted. Something continuing on would be nice, taking the story further, or maybe something which allows you to trek into hell again, possibly using a site of religious interest in the middle east as a catalyst for the trouble.

I like this game and if they make a 2nd part i will play it. IMO a co-op play will be dificult to realese unless they dont use the jumping gameplay. The Templars was my favorite part of the history.

From what little I've heard, there is going to be a Campaign story, and then an online only campaign.

I had mixed feelings about Jericho. I love the works of Clive Barker so I bought the limited edition in a heartbeat. I still have it actually. As I played through I wound up stopping after a while. About maybe two weeks later (I think?) I heard how easy it was to 1000 so I figured, meh, give it another go. The further you got into the game, the better it was. I game for a good story, and this had a pretty good one. Nothing spectacular like the xbox Call of Cthulhu game (H.P. Lovecraft is my literary inspiration) but it was good. Glad to hear about the sequel, when I beat it so long ago I nearly impaled my 360 with the controller at the end. Didn't realize it's supposed to be a trilogy.

But in any event, it seems like they really just didn't put a lot of effort into this game, and I hope if and when the second comes around, it'll be better. I never really liked Codemasters, still don't, but I did enjoy Overlord, and after playing that I was kind of pissed off at how Jericho was treated.

I honestly was not a fan of any of his work until this game.

And I can see where you're coming from, what else would you expect from Codemasters?
