Yes, you should def. buy the Collector's Edition (: The stuff it contains is amazing! And here (in Germany) I only had to pay 20 with DLC included!! Sometimes retail stores are cheaper than online stores
The game itself is one of the best I ever played. The best part of it is the atmosphere - really! You should darken your room while playing...

I' d been umming and arring about this game since, well, it was launched.

Finally picked it up today and have loved every minute.

The writing and storytelling is leagues above pretty much the whole market even today.

The game play gets repetitive after a while but when the story is a fantastic horror/thriller combo, mixed in with some great fights and cinematics its a great game to pick up if your looking for a good story.

All gamers interested in something unique should pick it up, I've never played anything that did it's storyline like Alan Wake, not to mention the combat system is simple but creative.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I am not a fan of the Genre at all. Even obtained both the DLCs for it.

I just finished up the mains story on normal. At first I was unsure about the game but as I got more into the story I got sucked in and really enjoyed it. The cinematics and soundtrack are great. I was able to get it for $15 and at that value I would highly recommend a buy. It is a great change of pace from other games. I even plan on getting the DLC's if they are not to pricey.

From what I played it was pretty good. 7.5/10
Never finished it though because I have a horrible habit of never completing games.

One of the best games I have played so far. I usually also dont like horror genre games, but this one was just great!
Some of the Pro's are, the awesome story, the interesting "fighting system", the whole atmosphere, it somehow being different from all other games, and no unnecessary MP mode!
Just gotta love it
I can only think of one con. Like in the first Assassin's Creed, there are just too many collectibles...

Note: I havent played the DLC, yet.

I wanted AW when it came out but it seemed too dark and I'm not a "games at night" person. I try to fast forward time when night comes if I can. Other than that, it looked like a game I would have liked.

It's not too bad. I'm currently at the beginning of chapter 5 and I like it so far. It's not set my world on fire, but it has kept me intrigued which is great. I'd recommend it highly, now you can get it for next to nothing. However, I do think I would have been a little disappointed had I payed full price for it at launch.

I would definitely say get it! I was excited when I saw the trailer, although still unsure if I was willing to pay as much as it was when it first came out. But after I rented it I ended up buying it regardless. I love it!

Ok. I'm going to retract what I said above and present another opinion...

The game is fu**ing awesome!! It actually took me playing the game through AND the DLC to really get the vibe of this beast. I'm exactly halfway through my Nightmare playthrough and loving it.

Great story and I would have more than happy to pay full price for a copy that included the DLC. I bought this for 4 GBP which is an absolute steal!! Get it, Get it, GET IT!! lol.

The game is definitely worth getting. The story is deep and the controls are easy to get used to. However, do note that the controls do take some getting used to, as they aren't very similar to any of the mainstream games out there. The DLC are also worth purchasing, as they fill you in on certain things that you did not pick up on in the normal game.

I bought the Collectors Edition for 80 bucks the first day it came out, (people thought I was an idiot for getting that over Red Dead) and it was worth every penny. EVERY penny.

Gamefly is sending me the game as we speak! Would you all recommend going for the collectibles on the first run through or just forgetting about them and just enjoying the game for the first play?? I can't decide

Don't spoil the game by going out of your way for collectibles.

Alan Wake is an amazing experience. Do it right.
