Going for 5? Back Up Your Saves

If you are going for the Win 5 Ranked Matches in a Row achievement, here's a little tip.

Back up your Save to a USB Stick/Memory Card after every win

Why? Because if you lose you can just put that save back on your Hard Drive your streak will be restored whatever it was at before. You might lose some points and maybe some Arcade progress, but it's worth it if you want the Achievement.

So you don't have to worry about facing people who are higher level than you anymore as long as you keep track of, and restore that save.

Or you can just "Ragequit" by quitting an online ranked match by pressing and head to "Quit Match" or just go back to the Dashboard before you lose, simple as that and you'll still keep your streak.

This way you can play without the fear of being quick on your feet and not have to worry about screwing people out of wins.

I had originally started doing this when I first went for the achievement but the online leaderboard still kept the new W/L ratio from my previous save. Are you saying that's meant to happen but it'll still keep your streak intact regardless? I'll admit that I didn't check the in-game Going Streaking challenge when I reloaded, only the leaderboards.

Nice to know anyway, I've already got the achievement but it could be useful when finishing off the final level of the Going Streaking challenge.

Rather a Win/Win situation if you ask me, besides, I had the trouble of getting my 5 in a row wins again after I almost had it and got beat, and besides, its hard to boost in ranked if its always a quick match.

Creative method, but rage-quitting is faster and for those who don't mind their disconnect rate high. The only downside is that I cried because of all the rude messages I received from quitting, though.

Is this confirmed to work? I've never ragequit a match and am not likely to start now, but Going Streaking is the last achievement I need for this game and save reloading sounds like a good solution.

Will Microsoft definitely not ban your console/gamertag by doing this?

How does this method work exactly? What are the steps involved in doing this?

I've never used a uSB stick with my xbox so that kind of tech is new to me.

It's their process. If I get banned because I played by their rules then it's their fault. I turned one of my USB drives into a memory card for their system, so it's legitimately a 360 Storage Device.

Yea I see no way they can ban you for this, You're not doing anything illegal or using illegal equipment.

I can't stand rage-quitting. If you're going to boost, fine. I don't like boosting personally, but whatever. But people who quit because they are losing legit is just insane. I feel guilty if my internet goes down during a match, let alone doing it on purpose.

A bit late but no, this method works on both MVC3 and the latest MK so I doubt they'll ban for an arcade game

I'll try this method if i can't get it legit, if I can get 10 in a row on SSF4 legit I'm sure 5 won't be a problem

Although SF4 I'm still yet to do 10 in a row, keep getting to 9 and then losing

I was able to get the 10 in a row in SF4 and SSF4 legit, but I had to boost for mk9. I'll definitely be using the reload method.

I was never able to get the mkvdc: 25 wins in a row
