-Online: 2
-Approximate amount of time to 1000: 5-10 Hours
-Minimum number of playthroughs needed: Several per sport
-Number of missable achievements: None
-Do cheat codes disable achievements?: No Cheats
-Does difficulty affect achievements?: No
-Glitchy achievements: No
-Unobtainable achievements: No
-Extra equipment needed?: Kinect Sensor Required

Introduction:
Kinect Sports: Season Two features six brand new sports, the new Challenge Play mode, new mini-games, Xbox LIVE matches, and more. For the best experience, you should have 5-10 ft. of space between you and your TV for absolute accuracy. Also try to remove any obstacles on your sides if you can, as some of the game requires you to move far left and right. Compared to the first Kinect Sports, this one is less taxing on your body. The achievements are a little less difficult as well, aside from a few tough ones thrown in.

The achievements are split up nicely between the six sports, with additional ones for exploring some of the game's additional features. Most of the achievements are extra little goals that you can attempt to obtain through normal play, most don't require too much setup.

Play through the six sports:

Golf-
You'll have to play a full nine holes under par, then after that you can pick individual holes to work on the remainder of the achievements. You'll also have to play the mini-game here.

Tennis-
Some of your tasks are better suited for Rookie difficulty, while others work better on Champion, so you may need to play a few matches here. There's also another mini-game to play

Darts-
This takes a great deal of patience, and you may find yourself starting over for some of these. There are decent ways to combine achievements in each round, but sometimes you'll just want to focus on the easiest way of getting one achievement rather than taking risks or overthinking things to attempt several at once. Again, there is a mini-game as well.

Baseball-
There are only two innings in each game of Baseball, but you'll likely knock of few of the achievements off in each game. The CPU isn't very good so you will be rounding the bases often. Everything is rounded off with another mini-game.

Football-
This sport stands apart because it does require quite a bit more physical activity in comparison to the others. Some of the achievements are made easier by playing a 2-player versus game, but you're actually playing alone and playing as both teams. Still though, a few achievements are going to give you troubles, so expect multiple attempts.

Skiing-
The easiest sport for sure. You'll get several of the achievements in your first race, get some perfect runs, another mini-game task, and Skiing will be done in no time.

Misc. Achievements:

You don't even really need to concentrate on any of the additional ones besides the two online achievements, the others come naturally with minimal play or something you'll stumble upon anyways. Send out a challenge to a friend and beat one of theirs and this group of achievements are complete.

Conclusion:
For better or worse, Season Two was an easier completion then its predecessor. There's still quite a bit of challenge here though so congratulate yourself on a job well done.

Birds Eye View 20
View a golf hole using the 'hole preview' gesture when playing golf

Standing upright looking straight at your TV when at the tee, lift your hand above your eyes as if you’re shading them. This let’s you observe the layout of the hole.

Tee and in 20
Hit the ball in the hole from the tee off for a hole in one when playing golf

More commonly referred to as a Hole-in-One, you’ll need to complete any of the Par 3’s in one shot. The other holes are just to far out of reach. I’ve gotten a few of these, but I was most comfortable with the second hole. I went to Challenge Play and selected the first Par 3 (second hole) and I had a very favorable pin position at the back of the green. Obviously you’ll want calm winds and practice your short a few times before actually shooting. The practice shot shows where the ball will land, but not where it will roll too.

I aimed straight at the hole, a little bit before the pin. Don’t count on the ball bouncing a lot then slowly trickling in, it’ll likely bounce 2-3 times, hit the pin and drop straight down. So, you’re likely lining up your practice shot closer to the pin then you would in a golf sim.

Spin And In 20
Make the ball roll around the rim of the hole and in when playing golf

You’ll need a medium length shot, I’d say 10-20 yards from the pin. Then, ideally you’d have an easy putting surface with a straight shot, if not adjust your strategy accordingly.

For the ball to spin around the rim it has to catch the edge of the cup, and needs to be going a decent speed too. A straight putt works best because you can aim for the edges easier without the variable of a slope. Line up your shot so your white guide line turns solid. For there, move your aim slightly to where you will think it’ll hit the edge of the cup, and hit it hard enough.

Bunker Beater 20
Hit the ball into the hole straight out of a sand bunker when playing golf

Like “Tee and In”, I went to challenge play, Hole 2 (the first Par 3). I aimed nearly identical to where I did for a Hole-In-One, but just off to the side. The ball hit the green and rolled past into the sand. From here, with calm winds I aimed nearly on top of the hole, and of course practiced several times. Better to hit the pin then not have it make it there. This may take a few tries, but I felt the pin placement in relevance to the back bunker was ideal in this hole.

Putting Perfection 20
Putt the ball in from over 40 yards on Lighthouse Bay when playing golf

Lighthouse Bay is the third hole and a Par 5. It’s obvious which one it is because of the long, obnoxious sized green, and of course, the lighthouse. A tricky part about this one is getting it 40+ yards away. I’d aim far left off the tee, and try to navigate your next shot(s) so that you’ll land on the back of the green. From here, you’ll have a long downhill putt. Looks daunting, but it’s relatively straight and downhill. Listen to your caddie to decide the power needed. I hit it hard and it hit the cup and bounced up a bit before falling back down and in.

Pitching for Points 25
Score more than 50 points in Ocean Driver

You’ll have to hit island targets for high scores. Aim for 3 as often as possible as it is worth the most and grants your extra shots. For the back of the island I swung hard, the middle I had an easy relaxed swing, and for the front a light swing. I never hit it OVER the island, but did manage to hit it before it if I swung way too lightly. Part way through they throw in wind. For light winds I lined up my shot to the edge of the target and let the wind take it towards the center. For strong winds you’ll aim quite a bit off target. Took a shot or two to adjust to those heavier winds.

Things get a little tricky around the 40s, just don’t panic and make sure at that point you get enough for the achievement.

Below Par Star! 25
Play the full nine holes of Maple Lake and finish under par

This won’t really be a problem for most achievement hunters. Practice every shot and just play normally. You don’t have to take any risks, just reach the green in regulation and sink a few birdies. Only stipulation really is that it must be a full nine holes

Return Master 20
Score a point using the 'power' shot technique when playing tennis

See “Not So Ace!”

Ace-Tastic 20
Hit your 1st 'Ace' serve when playing tennis

The Kinect detection isn’t very kind for serves to be quite honest. For a power serve, throw the ball up in the air and hit it with force and hopefully the sensor will pick it up properly. Taller individuals may have to bend the knees a bit so the Kinect can see you better. You’ll hit the ball at 100 MPH or so if you got a power serve. Attempt to hit it up the middle or right on the lines to get it by your opponent without them being able to return.

Not so Ace! 20
Score a return point from an incoming perfect serve when playing tennis

None of the tutorials tell you this, but if you take a step while hitting a volley, you’ll get a power shot. This is essential for winning points on higher difficulties. For “Not So Ace”, play on Champion difficulty and most of the CPU serves will be a power serve. Use your power shot and sharp angles in attempt to win the point on your return. If you fail, try and keep the game at Deuce or ADV-Player so they are continually serving to you.

You cannot be serious 20
Win your first "objection" scenario when playing tennis

This one may seem troubling but there’s a few methods to gain more objection situations. Just because you get a call that is objectionable doesn’t mean you’ll get it overturned either.

Play on Champion difficulty, as the CPU opponent will challenge you more and have you on the ropes. Influence the volley so that you’re right in the middle of the court. From there, hit a weak volley straight back to the CPU. This will give them an easy power shot to one of the corners. Since you’re in the middle, you’ll be able to lunge to either side and hit back. This cross court lunge shot tends to be close to the line, sometimes out. If it’s close you’ll be able to raise both hands in disgust and the chair umpire will review the call. Keep doing this until you get a shot overturned.

Alternatively, some favor working the volley so that you’re completely to one side, and attempting to hit up the line rather than cross court. Do what fits best for you.

You're the judge, I'm the jury 20
Hit a line judge with the tennis ball when playing tennis

These are the judges in the back bent at the knees. When you hit a winner shots frequently go back there, and if you hit the judge or even make them dodge you get this one.

Smashing Service 25
Score more than 90 points in Smash Alley

Smash shots occur all the time. If you work your opponent around the court eventually they’ll lob the shot back in desperation. Place the overhead smash to one of the sides to blow it by them.

Smash Shot Star! 25
Win five points on smash shots when playing tennis (cumulative)

Hitting a chain of mascots is key here in order to hit enough before time runs out, and you can do so by hitting a row of them with a overhead smash shot. The dynamite mascots, when hit, provide a lob shot which you can aim at a row of the other mascots. You’ll have to occasionally clean up a few on the court with regular shots too. Just aim calmly and carefully, and this will be relatively easy when you understand the pattern between dynamite mascots and the other ones.

Maximum Checkout 20
Score 170 (triple-20, triple-20, bull's eye) to end a game of darts

In the game of Darts, you can only check out on a double, or a bull’s-eye. Therefore, the most you could get in a final turn would be two triple-20’s and a bull’s-eye, in that order. See “180 Star!” for more insight on how to throw a dart with accuracy.

Nine Darter 20
Complete a game of darts with a nine-dart checkout.

One of the harder achievements in the game. You must place nine darts perfectly to finish a game in the minimum amount of turns. This will take a bit of math here too, and here’s one of the methods to get 501 in 3 turns (9 darts)

Turn 1 - Triple 20, Triple 20, Triple 19
Turn 2 - Triple 20, Triple 20, Triple 18
Turn 3 - Triple 20, Triple 20, Double 15

The Triple 20 area gets a little crowded, but it’s probably the most comfortable place to shoot a triple. Hitting the T-19 is necessary because the final 501 score is a odd number, and the T-18 is just so you don’t have to squeeze three darts into T-20. If you get anything less than triple on throws 1-8 it will be impossible to finish with nine darts, so star over should this occur. The last throw MUST be a double or bull’s eye.

Bull's Eye Bonanza 20
Hit the bull's eye three times in one turn (three darts) when playing darts

See “180 Star!”

Ton 80 20
Score 180 (3 triple-20s) in one turn when playing darts

See “180 Star!”

Shanghai 20
Hit a single, double and triple of the same number when playing darts

If you screw up while doing "Ton 80" you could change your approach and attempt this. You’ll be throwing lots of 20’s so it’s best to go for those.

Balloon Buster 25
Score more than 25 points in Pop Darts

The accuracy isn’t quite as important here, you’ll want to act quickly to get 25 in time. Be sure not to hit the mascots, they deduct valuable time. The moving targets are a little daunting but you don’t have to “lead” them as much as you think, they aren’t moving quite so fast.

180 Star! 25
Hit ten 180s when playing darts (cumulative)

If you take it real easy you can hit wherever you want on the board on each throw. It takes extreme patience, but it can be done. Make a fist with your hand and aim at the board. If you slowly pull back, the reticule will lock in place. This gives you time to decide if you want to take that shot where the reticule locked. If you are unsure in any way, don’t shoot, just move your hand around to reset the reticule. You won’t be able adjust on the fly accurately either so don’t try that, you want to be absolutely sure for some of these achievements.

If you pull back and it stops exactly where you want it, now you can throw your dart. You’ll have to punch forward with some effort, but not too much, otherwise it won’t fly straight. If you go too slow the reticule will reset, as it won’t recognize a shot. That’s OK though, better than an errant shot. Concentrate on punching very straight, with just enough force for the game to recognize a throw. Bit of a learning curve but with patience and time you get the hang of it. Be prepared for some frustration though, it’s not easy by any means.

To fit three in such a small space (triple-20, bull’s-eye), you can lean or move slightly to each side to fit when on one side, in the middle, and one on the other side. Combine this with where your aiming reticule is and you can fit all three in the bull’s-eye or triple-20.

Grand Slam 20
Hit a home run with the bases loaded when playing baseball

Getting the bases loaded is more of a challenge then the actual homerun. Often times you’ll get a double or triple which breaks things up.

On Rookie difficulty though, the CPU tend to have terrible fielding, therefore, you can bunt the bases loaded. Stick your bat out but don’t swing in order to bunt. The CPU may catch a few but you should be able to get three on base this way. When loaded, raise your hands to call for a pinch hitter. The pinch hitter provides a homerun off the bench, just have to make good contact.

Ace Pitcher 20
Use all pitching techniques and speeds when playing baseball

See “Read The Signs”

Home Runs for Fun 20
Score 5 home runs in a single game when playing baseball

To hit a power hit, keep one foot forward prior to the pitch, and swing hard in the direction of the indicator. Use your pinch hitter as well, they are your guaranteed power hitter.

Bobble and Out 20
Catch a bobbled ball when playing baseball

When a fielding chance happens, stick the bare hand out to catch rather than the glove hand. When it hits the hand, the indicator will quickly move to the other side our body. Move quickly and make the catch.

Read the Signs 20
Match the catcher's signal when pitching a ball when playing baseball

Listen to your catcher! This provides you with the best possible pitch. Follow their instructions for each at bat and you’ll make it though each speed and technique.

Out of the Park 25
Score more than 2500 points in Home Run Hero

In comparison to most of the mini games, this one seemed to be the most lenient. Be sure to keep your foot out and watch the ball get to the plate carefully, they’ll throw a variety of pitch types your way.

Slugger Star! 25
Hit the ball 5000 feet when playing baseball (cumulative score)

This seems to happen pretty quickly, and will likely happen while hunting other achievements.

All... The… Way 20
Score a touchdown on a kick return when playing Football

Returning a full kickoff is very difficult. To make this easier, play a local multiplayer VS. match, but only one person is going to play. In football, you take turns on offense so no need for two people.

So you’ll want to get the ball in the hands of Player 2. Have them get sacked on every play, and they’ll end up on the 10 yard line; they won’t let you go further back. On fourth down, Player 2 will have to punt. Despite what the description says, you can do this achievement on a punt. Hike the ball, and just stand there until the game automatically kicks a weak kick for you. You’ll be prompted to raise your hand to switch to Player 1. Here you will have to run in place to run it back, and need to avoid 2-4 players on the way. I felt a simple duck and lean motion prompted a juke move. Make sure to start running again after the juke is complete. This will take a few turns to figure out the timing but if you’re lucky you may only have to avoid a few people. Just make sure to run hard but stop to juke and then continue to run hard afterwards.

Long Bomb 20
Score a touchdown with a 60+ yard passing play when playing football

This can be quite hard, and for some may depend on a little bit of luck to get the ideal situation. For starters, you want to be as close as you can to your own 40 yard line as possible, whether it be on the kick return or completing some short passes to move ahead, or even getting sacked to move back 5-10 yards. You’re more than likely going to want to use either of the long passes then for your 60+ yard pass.

Hike the ball, and keep and eye on your receivers. Allow them to get open, then wait a bit to let them travel down field. Throw a strong pass so they get it on the run. Once you catch it, you’re in control of the receiver now. There’s a guy or two that you need to juke, and every time there’s a guy from behind that will always catch you. The final guy from behind will always tackle you, no way of avoiding it. Before I was trying to juke the last one but you can’t, so may was well try to out run them instead. Hopefully they don’t catch up to you until the 2 yard line or so and drag you in for a touchdown. So, juke the first one or two people, then out run the last. Everything really needs to come together for this one.

Game Winning Field Goal 20
Win a game of Football on a field goal

I haven’t exactly tested this, but I believe you could do this on a two player game but by yourself as well. Get the game to overtime, and kick a field goal to end the game. Can be done in single player with careful planning, but no matter what overtime is ideal.

Calling the Shot 20
Complete a pass after calling an audible when playing Football

When you’re at the line, you can switch your play by reaching your hand to the side or by yelling AUDIBLE loudly. Pick a different play then complete your pass.

Far Out Field Goal 20
Score a field goal with at least 40 yards to go when playing Football

You’ll want to be as close to their 40 yard line as possible, again doing whatever you can to set this up. Once at the 40-44 yard line, throw incomplete passes until 4th down. You’ll need a powerful kick, yes, but accuracy is more important. The Kinect seems to have trouble detecting these kicks but calmly keep trying, you have plenty of time to kick.

One and Done 20
Score a touchdown on your 1st down when playing football

Use the same method as in “All The Way” but instead of scoring on the punt get stopped short of the goal line. Complete a pass on your next play for a touchdown.

Running Star! 25
Run 1000 yards when playing Football (cumulative score)

Another one that comes pretty quickly while going for other achievements.

Perfect Race 20
Race a perfect race (don't miss any gates) on both ski runs when playing Skiing

See “Perfect Race Star!”

Go! Go! Go! 20
Perform a perfect start out of the starting gate when playing Skiing

Still haven’t gotten this down completely, but I just yell LET’S GO a few times at or near the third beep and they usually give it to me.

Big Air 20
Perform a perfect jump on any ski run when playing Skiing

Just jump in the air when you reach the green jump zones. Only trick here is that there seems to be the slightest latency here, but you’ll most likely get it first or second time

Maximum Velocity 20
Go fast by holding the tuck position for at least 10 seconds when playing Skiing

Pretty much as described, just bend over and keep your legs and arms together to gain speed. You’re free to do some leaning while tucked.

Peak Perfection 20
Race a perfect race on all three hills at Sunny Peaks

See “Perfect Race Star!”

What Obstacles? 25
Score more than 50 points in Downhill Dodge

This mini game may take a run or two to get accustomed to, because you’ll be doing a lot more dodging and jumping compared to the smooth fluid ride of a race.

Perfect Race Star! 25
Complete six perfect races when playing skiing (cumulative score)

A perfect race means not missing any gates. You are free to hit the gates, so long as you don’t miss them, so take your time. Also, a perfect start or perfect jumps are not required, and you don't need to win the race.

Rickrolled 10
Have your first motivational song play when playing Kinect Sports: Season Two

The song will play if you perform poorly; get one over par in Golf, lose a game in Tennis, etc.

Crowd Control 5
Avateer to work the crowd up into a frenzy in any sport

Dance and celebrate after doing something good; a birdie in Gold, winning a game in Tennis, etc.

Let the games commence 5
Play any sport on Kinect Sports: Season Two for the first time

See “Victory”

Victory! 5
Win any sport on Kinect Sports: Season Two for the first time

Required for several of the other achievements described.

Kinect Sports-a-thon 25
Play Kinect Sports: Season Two for more than 2 hours (cumulative time)

Obviously, this comes naturally.

Yes, in general it's easier. There are a few really tough ones though, namely some of the Darts achievements, and the 60 yard pass. I wouldn't go as far as saying A LOT easier, just simply "easier".

The 40 yard putt one is pissing me off mainly cause the ball never stops on the green nearest the the light house. It either goes way past and out of bounds on lands on the dark patch so i have to chip it back in. Why cant we use the putter from outside the green on this?

I cannot get the 60 yard pass one for the life of me! Man!

Also, I am trying to do the Bunker achievement and to me the test swing drop is always way off from my actual swing ball drop. Don't know what the deal is but it is making it impossible to get this one.

What hole are you trying for the bunker shot? Hole 2 has a real flat bunker in the back, and in challenge play the hole placement is back there too. I tried dozens of times on other holes and my shots were sporadic like yours, until I discoverd this hole --took about 4 tries then.

Okay, I have been doing hole 2 but no in challenge play. I will try. Yeah, my shots are nothing like my several similar practice shots in a row

Hole 2 in challenge worked! Why!? Who knows but listen to this man...it works!

Just three more to go. Darn Not So Ace and the 60 yards!

Thank you for posting this achievement guide Lite, this will definite help me out with the football achievements as well as the golf ones. I didn't think of using two players for the Football Achieves, Kudos.

Some of these are horrible. Namely the 60 yd TD, kick return and return a perfect serve (no matter how I return it doesn't beat the guy?!). So annoying as you can't do anything other than play and play and play some more until you get lucky, no skill involved.

The football ones are so fucking annoying. I tried the 60yd TD one, got stopped on the 2. The kick one is shite, it's hard enough getting past the first person who tries to tackle you. You really should just be able to sidestep them!

Guide looks great Pink. I'll be picking this up after I finish up Dance Central 2. Glad to see it doesn't seem as frustrating as some of the ones in Kinect Sports. Looking forward to hitting this up with some friends.

Thanks again litepink for this great guide, it helped me a lot!

I just got the Long Bomb [Score a touchdown with a 60+ yard passing play when playing football] achievement. Here are some additional tipps to it:
  • When you're between the 60 and 64 yard mark use the "All Streaks" move. Try to throw the ball to the far right runner when the indicator is green and also try to hold the ball with your thrower as long as possible which means have an eye on your defence line and just throw it in the last second when you see they're breaching it.
  • When you get the ball with your runner just run like the devil (make sure you lift your knees high enough). The first tackler will be automatically dodged, when the second comes lean a bit to the right while still running nonstop.
This achievement is a very frustrating bastard. Either ways, good luck to everyone with that.

For the Tee and in [Hit the ball in the hole from the tee off for a hole in one when playing golf] achievement:
  • The hole position of the first Par 3 is in the normal game mode a different as it is in the challenge play, also its nearest surface isn't so wavy. I thought it's a bit easier there to get a hole in one, at least I got the achievement there.

Ok how in the world do you hit home runs in baseball?? I hit one with my pinch hitter when the bases were loaded thank god, but I can't seem to hit a single one in Home Run Hero, and haven't hit more than one in a regular game. All I get are base hits. I step with my foot and swing hard but the delay and reaction time seems to be so bad. Am I supposed to step and swing simultaneously? Because as soon as I lift my foot in the air the game makes me swing, making it ridiculously awkward to time a good hit. Any help would be much appreciated. This is getting very frustrating.

For baseball if you call in your pinch hitter it's a guaranteed home run if u time the pitch right just use a upwards swing similar to a golf swing I actually play baseball but the swing I use in real life won't hit homers in the game so I just started swinging up. You can step first then swing the bat it's just about the timing.when you step don't lift your leg in the air just slide your leg forward

Ok the sliding of the leg and upward swing sound like good ideas. I'll be trying them out later. As for the pinch hitter, you can only use him once per game that I'm aware of, and I need 5 homers in a single game.

Btw, thanks for apparently being the only person still visiting this forum.

Tuck low and you actually have to yell "Ready Go!" or whatever it says in the corner. Just keep yelling it over and over after you heard the third beep at the gate.

A couple things that should be corrected in the guide:

1. Smashing Service and Smash Shot Star - your descriptions for these two achievements are switched.

2. Game Winning Field Goal - yes, you can do it in 2-player vs. Much easier. Let the game go to overtime and then get close to the goal line and kick the field goal.

Another comment to the guide:

For darts, you can combine Nine Darter and Maximum Checkout in the following way:

Turn 1 - Triple 20, Triple 20, Triple 19
Turn 2 - Triple 20, Triple 20, Double 17
Turn 3 - Triple 20, Triple 20, Bullseye

This way you can get two achievements at once without going "out of your way" and if you screw up the Nine Darter part you can still manipulate your score to try for Maximum Checkout.

Another 9 darter method (and the way I did it):
For all three turns: Triple 20, Triple 19, bullseye = 167. 167 * 3 = 501.
