Almost done on legendary with skulls and a co-op partner, so far not that hard but on solo it would be a pain in the ass.

If attempting Solo Campaign on Legendary...

Basically use the tips provided earlier in this thread if you want to make it as easy as possible. I will add one thing: The Library on legendary regardless of co-op or solo is ridiculous. Checkpoints are good breathing spaces throughout the levels, but just be careful where your grenades are landing. I got grenade happy on several occasions thanks to infinite ammo and it ended up blowing my grenades back towards me and I did not notice until it was too late. Again, just basically follow the great tips provided above and just stick it out one checkpoint at a time. Solo can be challenging, but you will find it is doable with patience and time.

I just completed it on legendary and to go back to my previous post you defo need a co-op partner to make this so much easier. I played the last 3 levels on heroic previously and they took a hell of a lot longer on my own than with some one on legendary so find some one to play with or be prepared for a long haul of frustrating difficulty peaks.

Co-oped Legendary, was a lot easier than i remembered from playing the original. But forgot the game doesnt have an auto save feature, so we had to replay the first half of the game. Not a problem though. I've probably played through the first Halo 20 plus times

COD was simply CHEAP on Veteran. Re-spawning enemies, quick shot kills and unlimited grenades lobbed at you was simply cheap and irritating. Good thing MP was so damn superior because I hate their campaigns on Veteran. Just cheap to me.

You will have to learn the way to engage the enemies. But I agree, Halo 1 on Legendary is the hardest of them all (save Sniper Jackals from Halo 2).

MixMaker1, I just noticed you rocked the games in your sig. I really would like to commend you for your completion of all the Halo games. I am almost there and I can see how hard you worked for that. Congrats and I hope Halo 4 works for you just as these did. See you on the battlefield.

Thanks dude -- appreciate it. I'm a huge fan.

Good luck! Outside of Halo 3 (which takes some luck), everything takes perseverance. Was fun, frustrating and rewarding all at the same time.

Honestly I don't think it is that hard on legendary. It is probably in the middle of the pack compared with the rest and I got all the achievements solo.

Halo 2 IMO is 100x harder than any of the others. It confined you in small areas where you could be attacked from all sides with little cover and those snipers . Elites became incredibly powerful, to the point I couldn't even complete the 1st level when the elites are boarding into the main hangar.

In Halo there are very few instances where you are confined other than the library.

ODST on Legendary is cake. Be methodical, use tactics, and play like an ODST should and you can conquer that game easily. Halo 3 - same thing, except your the MC and he kicks ass. Halo 3 is tough, but not nearly as bad as anything else imo save the level Cortana.

Nope but keep BOOM OFF. You're much more likely to survive in close quarters this way. Unless you're a hardcore nut like me!

Legendary is a snap with the exception of a couple situations. The Cargo Bay on Level 3 is a monster and the Cafeteria at the beginning of Level 10 is nasty, but otherwise it's pretty straightforward as long as you're smart about it (Learn how to work together and know when to have one person hang back to act as a respawn for the other player.

Too difficult. I play most games on the hardest difficulty, and I have beat Halo 2, 3 and Reach all on legendary solo without much hassle. Gave up after the first level on this tho. I dunno...maybe cos it's a rental and I wanna get it done quick, but it did seem incredibly difficult to me

Skulls make it pretty easy. I wouldn't use them though as it takes a lot of fun out of legendary. If you're new to halo and just don't have the skill then you should use them. No point in pulling your hair out just for this one achievement. Honestly I've been playing Halo since 2004 and reach was my first legendary completion. What makes Halo: CE hard on legendary is the lack of checkpoints during some parts. On reach you could kill 2 - 3 enemies. Run back to a check point. Kill 2-3 more and repeat. So yeah, TAKE your time and use the skulls if you have to. And of course try having fun with it.

I did this With Bandana and Boom Skulls on, Just stay back and use grenades all the time. I got 100% on this game, so everybody can do it.

The worse part for me was "Never tell me de odds", that was my last achievement and took me 5 days and 12 hours to finally unlocking it.

The trick is never giving up.

-Greetings.

Yes Same method that I used. Although for me, The Library, level was the most annoying and time consuming. Kept getting bombarded by flood and kept getting killed a lot.

I found playing Reach solo on legendary almost as hard as playing CEA on legendary with a co-op partner..or almost as easy, whatever way you wanna put it.

I don't think I could beat this game solo though even with the skulls. I car barely do the achievementes solo let alone beat the game.

Reach is a lot eaiser I have to say, not sure how to compare this with Halo 3...I mean I played that game with 3 other friends like 3 times and it was great each time, didn't feel any difficulty and we didn't die much or get stuck.

Heres to Halo 4!

Really! When compare to CEA, I found that Reach is much much easier, both on solo and coop on any difficulty with or w/o LASO. I just wish I had played on legendary solo after the speed run videos were posted on the internet instead of starting the game entirely on legendary on the 1st day of its release. Would've saved me a lot time. But never the less Reach is a shitty game compared to all the other halo games. ODST is the worst I believe. And can't remember how difficult Halo 2-3 were but Original Halo (xbox) is still the most difficult halo game, both solo and coop and on any difficulty.

HALO 4 sucks balls! Epic Fail.

Difficulty levels in the Halo games on Legendary on SOLO:
HALO:CE - 7/10
HALO 2 - 8/10
HALO 3 - 6/10
HALO 3: ODST - 5/10
HALO: REACH - 9/10

I found Halo:CE mainly to be full of cheap deaths or enemy swarming. In Halo 2, it's primarily your shields just explode the moment anything touches you, and the overwhelming amount of elites.

Halo 3 is the easiest of the numbers thus far, mainly because none of your enemies have shields, so grenade spamming and headshots will win the day, I don't count one level (Cortana) as reason to suggest the whole game is hard. ODST is the easiest, as long as you remember to watch yourself and go for headshots.

Reach is the hardest of the games thus far, due to cheap deaths, often shoddy level design in terms of cover, bullshit saving grenade throws, suicide grunts in overwhelming numbers, randomly spawning Elites in cleared areas, and enemy shields that REFUSE to drop.
