Question Quick question for MGS2 on Hard...

Hi, I'm currently trying to get the Great Dane achievement, but I need to find the tranq gun in the first area so I can hold up the three dudes in the elevator room. Ive found it on most of the other difficulties, but I can seem to do it on hard... I could also use the location on Extreme, if you know it. Thanks in advance!!

Yes they start placing it in the Strut F warehouse beginning on Hard mode. So it's recommended to avoid all enemies until you find it. Use this guide, as it helped me a metraton on the achievement:

It details everything you need to do going for each dog tag. So at the start of each difficulty it tells you where to get the M9 or USP and don't worry...there's always a Supressor for the USP it's just they decide to stick it in one of the locked rooms in the Strut F warehouse on later difficulties (so you'll be stuck with the M9 and no kneecapping until then).

A quick note about kneecapping - it seems like every mode except extreme you don't actually have to kneecap your victim, shooting to the side of them usually scares them enough. On Extreme, it also works to kill another guy you've held up. In the Strut just before doing the Emma sniper run, I held up both of those guys and I shot the other one in the head (already had his tag) which scared the guy who needed the kneecapping.

Definitely use this guide though, it's very useful. Remember that there's always a break between grabbing dog tags after the Shell 1 Core. I think there may be like one other guy or something but I'm not sure on that. All I know is after the 11 guys in the Shell 1 Core I wouldn't see any more dog tags until after I got Emma up the elevator in the Shell 2 Core.

Another note about the difficulties, when you reach Hard and the Emma escort you REALLY need to pay attention to the guide in order to spawn these guys appropriately. The six on F1 require you to move a certain way to get each of them to like you'd take out two of them, hide their bodies...move into the room with the Node, move down and take out another...that kind of thing. Just pay attention to this guide, it will detail exactly what you need to do. Note on the elevator guard: he sometimes won't appear right away, just walk around with Emma inside of the dark room to get him to come out of the elevator.
Badass in a Sig #3 - Genos (One Punch Man)

Cybernetic, respectful yet somewhat impulsive and crazy cool in battle. Upgrading his systems to do even more damage than ever before...and he just has the most badass look, seriously. One of the best fire-based characters I've seen.
