I'm Sorry, I Wasn't Listening...

I like this game alot but for some reason I can't be bothered to read any of the dialogue when speaking to NPC's. There were a few instances in the Warsworn questline that I read what was said, and a few cutscenes for the main quest but overall I couldn't give a shit what's going on. The game is fun and there's little wrong from a technical standpoint but I can't find the attention span for the story. In games like Skyrim, Fallout and Mass Effect I'll exhaust the dialogue options and sometimes even read them a couple times when they're good, but not here. I think part of it is that in this game there is a yellow exclaimation point over the head of a quest giver, where as in the other games I mentioned you have to talk to everyone to find the quests.

To me this game feels kind of epic, they took all the good things from the above games (and a couple others) and made one awesome Action/RPG, I just don't feel like the story is all that inticing.

I will say that this game sets the bar for menu navigation and easy buying and selling. I love that my equipped items are never in jeopardy of accidentally getting sold, and I like that I can pay money to reset my skill trees. Also the junk list should be absolutely mandatory in every RPG released from now until the end of time, it's great. And the one mechanic that needs to die, get buried, forgotten, and never spoken of again is lockpicking. Attention developers, it's not fun, and I'm ALWAYS going to get in.

I'm with you. I'm loving this game, but the agonizing conversation choices (lingering over 2 options for literally minutes in Mass Effect because I wanna make a good choice) is just not there. I have been payin attention to the main story but I can't be bothered with the side quests for the most part. I think it's got to do with the sheer number of them, honestly.

In RPG i only follow to 100 % the main quests story.
In all sidequest i "fastread" the dialouge to get a quick grip of it and during these quests i "wake" up.
But thats how i play, and no shame in that.

And this game is real good, and i think they polished all things in the genre and made them better.
love the combat, love the destinies. ove that you can change who you are.
9/10.

To be fair this game does nothing new really, the combat is fine bet it's more like Fable Deluxe. Yes, the destinies is a fine touch but otherwise, no, nothing new. Great game though.

By not reading some of the quests, you will possibly make some wrong decisions. I already made one in a side quest, ended up killing tons of villagers by accident.

I'm having this issue as well. I don't know why, but I just am not interested in listening to 90% of the conversations. I'll skim through the subtitles and then skip once I've read it. Completely ignoring what the characters are saying.

This game is a work of genius.

'RA Salvatore' should have set off warning bells for some people.

After all he is an 'author' and they do tend to be a little on the wordy side.

But you don't have to read any dialogue in the game.

The characters will speak it audibly for you.

And if you don't care for tiresome dialogue bogging down your experience then just listen to the blue bits and ignore anything in white.

How easy is that?

It can be as wordy or streamlined as you want it to be.
