No new Offers as announced retirement

After playing 2 seasons now when i finished the first race of 3rd season, as soon as i came back to paddock i was told that as i have announced my retirement i will not be any more new offers now.
But i never announced any, i don't even know how to do that.

When you start a career mode, you can choose 3,5 or 7 year game. You automatically retire after whichever season you choose, so you must have chosen a 3 year game

i wondered why it asked how many seasons do you want to commit to at the beginning of the game.
