Anyone go to Circuit City?

I found out I can't go to Circuit City today to get it but was wondering if they did and how many copies they had?

What the frig is your problem? Circuit City is a chain of stores and I figured if someone saw how many copies were in one, it would give me a good idea of how many most of them will carry.

I work at Circuit City. We got maybe 9 or 10 of them in. Basically we got a small amount because not many people pre-ordered it. In fact, I don't think anyone realized it was supposed to be such a good game until all the reviews started hitting just recently. Which is why we didn't get all that many. I went to my store this morning and got one at about 10:15. I didn't look to see if we had sold any others, but there were some people shopping around in the video games which led me to believe a few of them were there for Bioshock.

Ok thanks. That's the kind of response I was looking for, not that wise ace remark.

If Circuit City runs out, can I do price matching at other stores? Can anybody tell me what stores do this? Like Target, Walmart, etc.

(Sorry, I was going to just edit but did the other way. My bad.)

Just because they are a chain of stores doesn't mean they all get the same amount. It all varies based on the stores location and expected sales. Retail 101 and Common Sense 105.

I don't know if you can read but I said people might be able to give a number which would give me an idea of how many the stores have.

I assure you good sir that I can read. While you're still in elementary English I have been through college and some. You'll never have a "good idea" of what stores have because everyone of them gets a different amount in their shipment. That's just like me asking how many EB around the corner got in. I can tell you that the one 1 mile from my house got 15 Special Edition's and the one 3 miles from my house got around 50. At least that's what the guys that I just called told me. I'm just merely pointing out that your question is faulty.

So might as well drop the arguing.

I'd assume most Circuit City stores got between 10-20. That is likely a pretty accurate guess. Best Buy will price match, but only if the competitor has the item in stock. But, I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart will do it regardless. So just bring a Circuit City ad in with you and show the salesperson.

Code, don't bother arguing with that kid, he won't ever admit he's wrong and does not seem to get simple logic. Check this thread for an argument I won on my first post, but he continued it for another three posts.

He also accused me of not being able to read. Apparently disagreeing with poor logic makes you illiterate.

You both are praising yourself for "outsmarting" a sixteen year old on a video game website. Real cool. I'm sure everyone would be proud. You say you won an argument because you put in a bunch of words that basically summed up to there being an achievement trading thread and no need for me to have created a thread for trading tournaments. Fine, it's no big deal. You did put up an icon of a lock dancing showing you think you have authority and that the moderators will praise you for undermining a meaningless thread. Whatever. What gets me, is how you said my thread was pointless but then when I offered you help with the online achievements, you gladly accepted. Okay. I come here and find that you are teaming up with some guy and are calling me illogical. "That I will never admit I'm wrong" and "that I carried something on for, get ready for it, three more posts." So I offered help, you accepted, and now you are badmouthing me. What does that show about your character. You only care about boosting your Gamerscore and will accept help from anyone, you only want to boost your post count by finding threads like these and start poking fun at people, and that you don't care what someone offered you as long as you can make them sound bad in order to make yourself look smart. Hey if that's what it takes to make you happy, maybe you should rethink your priorities and log out of x360a.com a little more often. The thing that amazes me is how most people who posted on here got what I was saying and responded in a kind and intelligent matter. I know that if a store is in a prime location like New York, then they will probably carry one hundred copies while a store in Vermont might carry five. I obviously didn't say I lived in New York so it was a good clue that I might not be looking for information on stores there. Thank you to everyone who answered my question. And shame on the two people who wasted everyone's time by posting nonsense and for encouraging me to post this long rant which noone should have to read on a proclaimed "user friendly" site.

Oh and by the way, I never said that you couldn't read Pants Party. I said "I don't know if you read what I said." Maybe you can't read.

Once again, a bunch of failed logic and a vast misunderstanding of the situation. I'm not getting into an e-fight with you, kid. Have a good one.

Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!! That kid is cracking me up. While his logic isn't completely correct (or completely incorrect depending upon your point of view) you have to admit he has spirit.

Word of advice brsfan22, stay calm. While wise ass comments are in abundance here, so are helpful people (such as code and pants) whom will bend over back-wards to help you out in any other situation. Talk all comments with a grain of salt as even the nicest person can be quick witted

He never said that every store will get the exact same amount. With something as low a price as a video game, it would be far too much work to base how many each store should sell. Games in particular are far too elastic to benefit from the amount of work it would take just for that one SKU number. If these copies of bioshock were hundreds or thousands of dollars, then demographic and location would come into consideration depending on quantity of sales and the area's average household incomes, but I'm pretty sure they realize if you're shopping at one of their chain stores, you can buy a ~$60 game if you wanted to. I think the original question was fairly legitimate.

The more I think about it, you can't even begin to compare the EB analogy with Circuit City. They are two completely different types of stores. Of course the EB stores will receive different quantities because they specialize in the sale of video games, and I'm sure they have marketing staff specifically hired to organize volume of hot products for each of their stores. Circuit City is just a general consumer electronics store which probably only uses their marketing staff to direct the prices of things where they really make their profit such as HDTV's etc.

In my younger days I worked at several different Kmarts as a night stock boy. Believe me...even large stores get different quantities. His best move would have been to call his local Circuit City instead of asking an international website. In fact, the topic seems a bit spammy to me.

And I'm sure Pants doesn't need to raise his post count. He's frequented this website since before you made it to high school.

Goodbye to this useless thread!

That basically explains what I've been trying to ask. This guy understands what I meant. I know not all the stores get the same amount but they might be close. And like he said, EB is a video game store so they are going to get more. I doubt he got his first post before I went to high school considering the site wasn't up yet but whatever. I just had to comment on that. I personally don't consider arguments fights so we are not "e-fighting." An argument is an argument an is usually a result of a difference of opinion while a fight is usually two jerks who think they are Rocky Marciano and want to show their "toughness" by swinging wildly at each other over the smallest thing. I don't get why you keep saying what I'm writing is false logic. Everything I stated is true, especially about the part where you falsely accused me of saying that you couldn't read. I can see that if people are viewing it from the point of view of all stores being different, then maybe you're right. But there are two sides to every story so you're probably wrong. I really don't care to go back and forth. My problem was that almost everyone who posted in here gave a proper answer, but there was one guy who made a smart remark and another who had to stick his nose into something just for the sake of arguing. All I'm saying is that if Code didn't want to start a big, now pointless thread like this, he shouldn't have said "Well, do you think we all shop at your Circuit City?" Instead, he could of said something like "I don't know, all stores are different, why don't you try calling."

How do you get Best Buy to price match? Is that at all Best Buy stores? Do I have to print out the Circuit City ad and show it to the cashier or can I just be like, "Hey, Circuit City is selling this for $50 down the road, give me $10 off." I just don't want to show up like a jackass and have the cashier not know what I'm talking about.

you have to show up with the ad in hand for them to price match it at the register, otherwise they won't believe you. i did this about 5 times when they had the deal for the 1600 point cards, i'm like a pro at doing price matching at best buy, i love that place so much

Awesome, thanks so much. Damn I hope they still have copies. There are only 2 Best Buy stores where I live... the next closest is 5 hours by plane you better believe the cost of gas won't cover the $10 discount.

I forgot I can check the store inventory online! I love Best Buy...

I haven't had Best Buy price match something in a while so I'm not exactly sure how they do it. But, for Circuit City to honor a lower price from somewhere else the competition has to have the item in stock. If Best Buy is the same way then they'll only match the price if Circuit City has the game in stock. But, like I said earlier if that's the case go to Wal-Mart. They'll price match anything regardless.
