It's a good idea to buy this game?

I'm thinking about buying this game. I downloaded the demo and I loved it. I'm new to RPG games consoles. Diablo 3 and Skyrim are great games already in my collection. Any advice for my start in this game.

Its a great and frankly addictive game. Haven't played anything else since starting it. Best way to descibe it is a hybrid of fable/skyrim/god of war. One of the few games I'll get a 1000 on and keep playing. If you need any help my pawn can help without completely overpowering enemies since im only 70. Just send invite SoulReaperNate. Just send a message saying dragons dogma.

Also plan to start over at least once. I hate playing as a mage so my plan to level my arisen evenly to access MA and MK went out the window. See if friends played it and you can fashion your pawn around thirds. I.E. they have a sorcerer and mage you might want to make yours a melee arranged depending on what you want to be. Personally I generally role with SIN-me, SOR-my pawn, MAGE, and a STRY/RANG depending on what gear/abilities they Have

Does Dark Arisen matter much at low levels? I bought the game at launch but never played it. Wondering if I should start it up again or wait until I buy Dark Arisen.

No it's still the same game, but it comes with lots of extra quests and some new weapons, equipment and stuff. There's a new area called Bitterblack Isle which will require you to be a high level, it's crawling with plenty of nasty enemies that can do massive amounts of damage. Not to mention that the place is huge and gets tougher the further you go in. I was around level 60 and still really struggled at certain points. But it also rewards you with really good armour and equipment which you can't get anywhere else in the game.

Certainly I really appreciated the bonus of the eternal ferrystone you get if you've already got a save from the original game.

DD: DA is surprisingly addictive. I was glad I played it. The only 'flaw' is that with Bitterblack items NG+ is totally a joke because my Arisen was too strong

If you loved the demo, buy it!

I suggest the dark arisen version. It has all the dlc of the original version plus other content.

Just bought this and wish I hadn't stained my achievements list with it.

I should have researched the game more, because if I knew the game was Japanese written I would never have touched it.

Sadly, my ears were soiled the moment the main menu screen appeared due to that horrible f**king song, then it got worse as the dialogue appeared from each character. Did Capcom really like the word 'Aught' or something. Its so overkilled I f**king can't stand having the volume on.

Now the character creation is nice, really nice, and whats even better is that you can then create a team mates look which is something I've wanted from RPG's for many years.

Then it all went to s**t again when it was time to play. Daggers do no damage, bow does no damage, chasing after thief and choosing the grab option doesn't work.

My mate swears by this game and has put hundreds of hours in, but he can get past the horrible Japanese writing. Why didn't they just build the game and then let Western writers write for a western designed script/story. F**king horrible.

Just couldn't take any more of it. I've never got angry at a game for being this s**t in terms of annoying dialogue before. I hope its the last time.

English is not my first language so even though I noticed some old English in the game, I didn't find that a problem for me. If you find your pawns' talking annoying, perhaps you can consider modifying their behaviour by making them talk less.

Your weapons are definitely too weak then. You can get better equipment or level-up. Or are you playing on Hard mode? The early stage of the game is definitely easier than Dark Souls or Witcher 3 Death March difficulty.

I know Dragon's Dogma is made by Japanese but I find it not quite similar to other typical RPGs like Final Fantasy and Tales of series.
