3 Star Challenge Guide

I realize the videos are not the top ranked positions, but this is a realistic walkthrough, and doesn't take much skill using these tactics.

Introduction: (Please read)
-IMPORTANT: Create a new character, specifically for these achievements. Being Rank 1 makes it MUCH easier!
-IMPORTANT #2: Go to the campaign, select a mission and change the difficulty to "Easy". Now back out and play the challenges, this will make them easier.
-You must play by YOURSELF, if you want to unlock achievements.
-You must play and complete each challenge 3 times. (1-star, 2-star & 3-star)
-Challenges will get harder as you go through them multiple times.
-These challenges can be completed offline, and all achievements will unlock.
-You cannot unlock any non-challenge related achievements in this game mode.
-Once you complete a challenge, there will be a grey dot to fill the space beside it, letting you know you have completed it.
-You can verify completion (if you played online) if you have a leaderboard position.
-If you are having trouble, upgrade your abilities, and come back at a later time.

You will earn 155 in about an hour an a half to 2 hours.

Challenge 1 - Be More Objective:

This is easily the most frustrating of the challenges, and I suggest you leave it for last. The key to completing this challenge is to go from objective to objective as quickly as possible, and try to complete objectives with the least enemy resistance possible. If you run into a point where enemies are defending the objective, and your teammates are being useless, you'll have to kill 3 or more enemies, and then quickly make a break for the objective before they can spawn back. Don't count on your teammates to revive you, as usually they won't, but it is usually worth waiting a few seconds to see if they are able to pick you back up.

Challenge 2 - Parkour This:

The easiest challenge of all 4. You should have no problem getting this on your first try, but if you encounter any difficulties, view the path I used in the above video. There are slightly faster methods around, but they all use this path with small variations.

Challenge 3 - Escort Duty:

For this challenge you are asked to be an engineer, and escort a small tank to the end of the level. This challenge can be frustrating as you may die multiple times, but shouldn't cause too much trouble to pass. Make sure to always buff after spawning (Click left analog stick), and focus on the enemies over the tank. Always try to kill the enemies before they are able to leave their spawn, and try to move the tank little by little whenever possible, making sure to repair when you can. As a tip, like shown in the video, repair the vehicle to 90%+, and kill enemies until there is 1 left, at this point repair the final few percent and kill the final enemy, this should allow you to progress a decent amount without any enemy encounters.

Challenge 4 - Tower Defense:

For this challenge you will be an engineer, and to make it easier (if you don't want to start a new character) buy some abilities for your engineer class in the "Characters & Weapons" option from the main menu. Make sure to always plant a landmine in front of the command post, and try to "Spawn camp" as much as you can. Turrets can also help you, but use them wisely, as some enemies will hack them to turn against you. If you do use a turret, plant in across the path of the command post, so it is able to kill enemies who try and hack the command post. Stay calm, and well hidden and avoid dieing at all costs. Good Luck with this!

Conclusion:

After completing all 4 challenges at the 3-star rating, you will have gotten the following achievements: (In this general order)

Well done! - 10
Complete your first 1 Star Challenge

Very well done indeed! - 20
Complete your first 3 Star Challenge

Who's bad? - 25
Complete all 1 Star Challenge

King of the world! - 100
Complete all 3 Star Challenges

Must be done alone. You can do them online, but it will not count towards the achievements.

Be More Objective is the hardest, because your teammates are idiots and enemies keep respawning on the objectives. Best bet is to take a Heavy built character Soldier or Engineer. The other challenges are very easy, just stay with the Heavy built character + a minigun and you'll breeze through.

Very useful information: Your character abilities can be used to help you. If you happen to be struggling then come back once your have certain abilities. I completed all the challenges without any abilities at all as my first 4 achievements are complete 1 star, complete 3 star, complete all 1 star, complete all 3 star. Also you can mention how you cannot get any miscellaneous achievements while playing challenges.

I have the garbage official Prima strategy guide and it says it's best to play these before anythig else, hinting that it possibly gets harder for you if you are ranked up (which makes sense I suppose). It said something along the lines of "not being able to change the difficulty unless starting a new character". I'll quote it later when I a not so lazy.

Let me know.

Maybe I'll give them another go when I level up a bit today.

The challenges were the first thing I did when I picked up the game since I saw that the attachments unlocked via the challenges alone not xp. I finished them all within minutes without a sweat, only one that gave me problems was Escort 3*. But beat it on the second time, then I explained to some buddies that were already Rank 3 to beat them for the attachments any they were having the hardest luck to finish any other the 3* for objective and escort. So level definitely effects them.

Character level Strongly effects difficulty

So I played the campaign before trying to do these, and I couldn't beat the Objective even at 2 stars, and couldn't beat tower defense at 3. I made a new character and did every challenge first try. You do have to have all 3 star challenges done on the same character for the achievement though.

Good guide, if it is true that level affects the difficulty of the challenge I just may attempt it with a new char. I'm really only interested in level 2 since you get all the attachments at that level. Level 3 is just for leaderboard stats and cheeb. So again, I'll just do it with a level 1 when I know what I'm doing. Currently level 13 after a day of playing with some friends. :3

For the achievements, it's certainly best to start a new character.

However, if you want to unlock some attachments or guns for a character you've already leveled up a bit, you can probably do it online with some friends.

EDIT: It should probably be noted (if it wasn't) that the Parkour challenges don't change difficulty (as far as I can tell) and these may be easier to do after you've played the game a bit, leveled up, and unlocked the skinny body type (so you run faster, jump higher, etc).

-Thanks for all the feedback, I mentioned that you should start a new character for this achievement to make it easier, within the intro and the tower challenge.
-Extra info for Escort Duty

Any feedback is also appreciated and considered!

I cannot for the life of me do the final Tower guard mission. Utter fucking bullshit. Breezed all the others so far but this one is kicking my ass. Always final round and I just get buttfucked and can never recapture in time.

EDIT :- Finally got it. I didn't realise there was a long run back and a short run from the respawn point. Once you figure that, you're laughing.

Good guide, though I won't be needing it. The Challenges are incredibly easy (I was Rank 2 when I decided to do them), I got them all done in just under an hour. I wish there had been more than just these four though because they where pretty fun.

Just to drive it home. Do these before anything else. Starting the challenges as a level one, on easy, is a breeze. I had to retry "Be More Objective 3" but that was it.

So anyone out there sweating it. No worries!

All challenges should be done using 1 character for the achievement to unlock.

Weapon attachments are shared between characters. (from what Ive heard)
