Achievement Guide and Roadmap

GUIDE COMPLETE!

Will be doing some touch up on some things, and some tips, but all collectables found and game finished!

Hey guys! Ill be doing a guide for Brave: The Video Game. Its compatible with kinect, although its not required. This is an easy, very straight forward game, aside for maybe collectables. As with any of my guides, I put the achievements in order of most practical and helpful, and strive to be as informative as possible, so getting the 1k will be a breeze. Ill be going by level for this game, since there are a good number of collectables

If anyone plans on making an official guide, there more than welcome to use anything theyd like from here
Big thanks to Powerman for helping with the guide and to Nozza for the revised banner!

YOU DO NOT NEED A KINECT TO PLAY THIS GAME

Takes around 10 hrs to 1k

This game is not bad at all; its actually pretty fun. The controls work well and does not seem to be glitchy at all. I have yet to test it on a kinect though

There are lots of collectables in the game, but most of them are very straight forward. The game gives you a collectable counter as well.

The level select in the game is awesome; you can replay a level as many times as you want, and you can leave the level anytime youd like (after hitting checkpoints so you dont lose your progress). This makes all the kill and money achievements a breeze and definitely unmissable

Once you gain an upgrade or a power, you have it for good. Theoretically, you could get a good amount of your kill achievements done in the first level, just by replaying it over and over. This really is not needed though, but you get my point.

DIFFICULTY ACHIEVEMENTS

Gaelic Hero [100] - Complete the game on Brave difficulty without changing it - This is the only difficulty achievement in the game, and you should start on it right away

KILL / MONEY / UPGRADE / COLLECTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

Minimum Wage [15] - Collect a total of 1000 currency
Affluent [25
] - Collect a total of 5000 currency
Wealthy [40
] - Collect a total of 15000 currency - This is collective. You dont need to have it on you at once. You should have no problem getting these achievements giving the way you can just replay levels over and over again at any time.

Ante up [10] - Purchase an upgrade
Full of Power [25
] - Purchase 15 upgrades
Gotta Snag Em All [40
] - Purchase all upgrades - You should have no problem getting this. The first upgrade I would advise to buy would be dodge. Then buy the upgrades Power Attack and Charged Shot, since you need both of these to work on kill achievements. The last upgrades you should buy are all the coop upgrades, since you will never need to use those

Ranged Only [25] - Complete a level without using your sword (description found in guide below)
Impressive [20] - As Merida, defeat 15 enemies in a row without taking damage (description found in guide below)
Untouchable [40] - As Merida, defeat 30 enemies in a row without taking damage (description found in guide below)
All Bunched Up [25] - As Merida, defeat 5 enemies with a single charged shot (description found in guide below)
Get out of my Way [25] - As Elinor, charge 5 enemies with a single charge attack (description found in guide below)
Mums the Word [15] - Defeat 100 enemies as Queen Elinor - This achievement will come over time

Charge It Up [
15
] - Defeat 100 enemies using charged shot
Super Bow [25] - Defeat 250 enemies using charged shot - This will come over time. Must be purchased from the merchant first

Power Hungry [15
] - Defeat 100 enemies using power attack
Domination [25
] - Defeat 250 enemies using power attack - This will come over time. Must be purchased from the merchant first

Digging in the dirt[5] - Find the earth charm
Toasty
[10] - Find the fire charm
Everyone knows its windy
[20] - Find the wind charm
Ice too see you
[15] - Find the ice charm - All of these are unmissable

Tremble [15
] - Defeat 100 enemies using the earth charm
Earthquake [25
] - Defeat 250 enemies using the earth charm

Breezy [15
] - Defeat 100 enemies using the wind charm
Hurricane [25] - Defeat 250 enemies using the wind charm

Cooling off
[15] - Defeat 100 enemies using the ice charm
Ice cold
[25] - Defeat 250 enemies using the ice charm

Heating Up
[15] - Defeat 100 enemies using the fire charm
On Fire [25] - Defeat 250 enemies using the fire charm

[20] - Defeat the rock golem guardian
Mopping up
[35] - Defeat the harpy guardian
Great Scot
[50] - Defeat Mor'du

PROLOGUE

You will unlock the following achievements in this level, in this order. They are unmissable

Swordful [5 ] - Collect a sword
Bowlicious [5 ] - Collect a bow
Digging in the Dirt [5] - Find the earth charm
Dirty work [5] - Cleanse the ring of stones

FOREST GROVE

Carpet Runner [5] - [1/3] - Collect a tapestry piece - Pretty much unmissable. Right in the beginning, after you jump up on the earth symbol platform, its to the left

Impressive [20] -
As Merida, defeat 15 enemies in a row without taking damage - I personally got this achievement at this point in the game, but I can guarantee you that there will be plenty, plenty of opportunities to do this. To make it easier, there is even a kill streak counter that shows up on the screen. Alls I did was use my bow and shot all the wolves that came at me. Very easy

Untouchable [40] -
As Merida, defeat 30 enemies in a row without taking damage - Same as above. Just use the bow and keep your distance. NOTE: The only way the counter resets for this is if you get hit by an enemy. If you happen to fall off the map or into some water, the counter is not reset. NOTE: Watch out for the tree guys. They shoot projectiles at you, and right before they die, they shoot projectiles out from all around them. Also watch out for poison sacks. You will encounter them the first time you enter the portal and go into the dark forest. Keep back and shoot them with your bow

Ante Up [10] -Purchase an upgrade - Even though its very early on, you still should have way more than enough to be able to buy an upgrade. I had about 850 coin on me when I came across the merchant stone. The stone can be located right after that little fight with all the wolves. Simply go up to it and press Y, then go to upgrades and purchase one. Id advise getting dodge right away if you started on Hero difficulty

Tripple H's - [10] -Solve a triplet puzzle - Unmissable. Simply solve the puzzle

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Battle - [2/3] Pretty much unmissable. After you slide down the zip line, hop up on the ledge and it will it will be right in front of you, on another ledge top

Get out of my Way [25] - As Elinor, charge 5 enemies with a single charge attack - The first time your able to take control of Elinor (the bear), you should be able to nab this achievement. If needed just run around in a circle until the baddies group up. You dont need to kill them; just hit them with the attack. There is more than enough enemies here for you to get this one your first time using her.

Toasty[10] - Find the fire charm - Unmissable

Collectable - Tapestry - [3/3] - You will come to a part where you must wall jump in order to step on pressure plates. Once you have stepped on all of them, a rock will open up and you will see the chest. Almost unmissable

Collectable - Sword - Claymore - [1/1] After jumping across some wooden rafts, you will come to another part where you must wall jump. After you reach the top, instead of proceeding forward, double jump to the next highest ledge across the gap you just wall jumped up. You will find a chest with this in it.

Ranged Only [25] - Complete a level without using your sword - Simply complete the level only using your bow. I would suggest just replaying the level to get this one after beating it normally, because you will miss out on a good number of coins if you decide not to use your sword first. You need coins to buy upgrades, such as the charged and power shots, which you need for kill achievements. Whenever you see plants, you can destroy them to get coins, but you can only do that with your sword. This is the easiest level to do it on, so just beat it once normally, then go replay it and just use the bow

All Bunched Up [25
] - As Merida, defeat 5 enemies with a single charged shot - Firstly, you have to purchase the charged shot ability from the merchant stone. Once you have it, you can further upgrade it by buying more upgrades for it. I personally bought the fire charged shot and then I bought one upgrade for it, and easily got the achievement. However, I got this after replaying the level with my upgrades. You should be able to get this one if your replaying the level to get the "use only a bow" achievement, since the enemies are really weak.

COASTAL CLIFFS

Everyone knows its windy [20] - Find the wind charm - Unmissable

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Ferocity - [1/3] After acquiring the wind charm, you will be back near the beginning of the level. As you progress, youll see a wind charm symbol and a chest up on a ledge. Use the wind power and climb up and get the chest

Collectable - Bow - Short Bow - [1/1] Shorty after going down the first zip line you come to, you will fight your way through some monsters. You will then come to a part where you fight two birds. Once there dead, look off into the distance near the eastern ledge and you should see a wind charm symbol. Shoot it and jump over to the platform, then over to the ledge. Youll then see the chest

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Battle - [2/3] - Right after that right with the rock monster and the skeletons, proceed onward and shorty you should see another rock monster in the distance throwing rocks. Make your way over to him. Once hes dead, shoot the targets and a chest should appear on the ground

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Valor - [3/3] - Right after you complete the triplets puzzle, the draw bridge will fall. Head on over it and you will see the chest there to the right

CHILLED CREEK

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Battle - [1/3] - Right after your first fight, continue forward into the cave then head left. Youll see a stone door with purple markings. Shoot it with your bow, and you will find the chest behind there

Ice too see you [15] - Find the ice charm - Unmissable

Collectable - Sword - Sharpened Runesword - [1/1] - Right after you cross the water by shooting all the ice symbols to be able to cross, youll notice a stone door with pressure plates around it. Simply activate all the pressure plates and then the door will open

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Ferocity - [2/3] - Eventually you will cross a wooden draw bridge that leads to purple mist. At the end of the fight, instead of going forward, head backwards and you should see a little ledge that you can jump to. This path with lead you to the chest

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Valor - [3/3] - You will come to a part where you need a key to proceed. In order to get the key you need to solve the very easy puzzle on the ground and enter the cave. Once inside, you will see the chest plain as day in the back

BURIED PASSAGE

Collectable - Outfit - Woolen Covering - [1/1] - After aquiring the first key, continue on until you come to a part where there are ledges you can jump up onto. Follow them up and shoot the earth symbols to cross the gap. The chest is right after you jump across

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Valor - [1/2] - Right after your first triplet puzzle, instead of going straight into the cave, go to your left. Youll notice some ice symbols that you can shoot to cross the water. Do that and the chest is on the other side

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Ferocity- [2/2] - After enter the cave, you will soon get to a part where the area is covered by the purple mist. After this fight, the chest appears

Collectable - Bow - Horned Hunters Bow - [1/1] - After using the key on the next gate, continue on and eventually youll see another purple mist that you have to fight in. After the fight, you should see the chest on an island to the left.

Taking out the trash [20] - Defeat the rock golem guardian - To save you a LOT of frustration, heres the easiest way to do this: first and foremost, make sure that when the big rock guardian throws a rock at you, that you dont let it hit you, because more than likely you will get one shotted. It has a super cheap area of effect as well when it hits the ground. To make this much easier, simply jump as soon as the rock is about to land near you, and it will never do damage to you. This will save you so many deaths. Secondly, take out the floating rock spawners so they stop spawning guys. Then when its only you and the rock guardian left, just keep shooting him with the wind charm while avoiding his rock throw. Also make sure not to get too close to him for long because you stomps the ground. I found using my sword to be the best method here for the normal guys.

SWAMP OF SHADOWS

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Ferocity - [1/3] - As you proceed, youll eventually come to a puzzle on the ground. Simply solve it and a chest will appear. To solve the puzzle, line up the two moving squares with eachother. Once they are in line, go and hit the gong once and then go back and line those two up with the rest of the squares.

Collectable - Sword - Bearstrike Blade - [1/1] - Right after the part where you fight as the bear, instead of going forward over the water, turn right and go to the top of the island your on and jump up some small ledges. Shoot the targets on the trees and a chest will appear

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Valor - [2/3] - After you shoot the wind symbols and cross the water, the chest will be to your left up on top of some ledges

Collectable - Bow - Bearstrike Composite Bow - [1/1] - Right after the cutscene where the bear pushes over the tree, just head forward and youll see the chest

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Battle - [3/3] - Right after you fight two fire rock throwing monsters, proceed straight and youll come to a part where youll see a chest behind some closed bars. Simply shoot the wind symbol near the chest, cross the water and step on the pressure plate. This will open the gate to get the chest.

MURKY CHASM

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Attack - [1/2] - Right as you begin, instead of going up, go to your right and follow it to the back. Youll come to a part where you need to wall jump some pressure plates. After doing this, a stone wall will lift and a chest will be behind it
Collectable - Bow - Elkhorn Seige Bow - [1/1] - Right after getting the first key and going through the gate, proceed and fight your way to the other side. You will then notice pressure plates. Simply activate all of them and a chest will appear.

Collectable - Sword - Elkhorn Gladius - [1/1] - After another fight in the purple mist, a narrow rock will fall. Cross over and continue on. You will then have the option to continue straight or go right and jump up some ledges. Go right. Jump up the ledges and follow the rock path upwards to a treasure chest

Collectable - Outfit - Tartan Safeguard - [1/1] - After another fight in the purple mist where you fight those little guys, continue on. You have a series of jumps and ledges to make. After you climb up the first two wind platforms, jump up to the platform and your left, and then turn around and jump across to the ledge on the right.

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Valor - [2/2] - After your done fighting as the bear, look for a wind symbol to shoot (near a zip line going up) and jump over to it. Follow it up and youll find the chest

Throw rug [20] - Complete a tapestry piece - You should now have enough to complete one tapestry piece

Mopping up [35] - Defeat the harpy guardian - This fight is not too hard. Just keep moving and using your charged up earth shot and the ground guys and then just keep spamming regular earth shots at the harpy while avoiding his energy ball attacks

FROZEN LOCH

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Ferocity - [1/2] - As soon as you spawn, turn around and head towards the back of the map. Shoot the wooden wall with the purple on it. The chest is in there

Collectable - Sword - Mustandshock Tulwar - [1/1] - After fighting through the purple mist, continue forward. You now have to shoot the ice symbols to cross the water. Hop on the moving ice platforms and make your way over to the right, and youll see an island with 6 pressure plates. Step on them in the right order and a chest will appear

Collectable - Tapestry - Tapestry of Battle - [2/2] - Right after the last chest, hop on the moving ice platforms and continue riding, past the monsters who spawn, past where your supposed to jump off, and youll eventually come to a secluded little island. Jump off onto it and youll see some targets. Shoot them and a chest will appear

Wall to wall carpeting [40] - Complete all tapestries - You should now have all tapestries

Collectable - Bow - Mustangshock Hunter Bow - [1/1] - Right after your done fighting as the bear, continue forward. You should see the chest off in the distance right away

RUINS OF THE ANCIENT KINGDOM

Collectable - Sword - Ursineleash Edge - [1/1] - Youll come to a part where you have to jump across lots of pillars. Eventually you will see a place where you can shoot your fire charm to burn some tangled wood vines. Do this and the chest in behind there

Swordtacular [25] - Collect all swords - You should now have all the swords collected

Brilliant [25] - Solve all triplet puzzles - That should have been your final puzzle

Collectable - Bow - Ursineleash Battle Bow - [1/1] - Continue on and eventually youll come to a big door with two gongs on either side that you have to shoot with your bow. Simply shoot the gongs until all the pressure plates to the right light up, and the door will open, allowing you to get to the chest

Bowilicious [25] - Collect all bows - You should now have all bows

Collectable - Outfit - Torn Attire - [1/1] Right after the fight in the purple mist with about 15 big rock guys, just continue forward and you will eventually come to the chest behind some bars. Step on the pressure plate and dodge the boulders that are falling down. Eventually you will have just enough time to be able to stand on the pressure plate to raise the gate enough just to make it through

Clothes horse [25] - Collect all outfits - You should now have all outfits

Great Scot [50] - Defeat Mor'du

Gaelic Hero [100] - Complete the game on Brave difficulty without changing it - The final battle consists of fighting 4 tiers of monsters, each with one really big monster and lots of respawning ones. The first one is the giant wolf. This one shouldnt give you any problems. Now the second one is the giant fire warthog, with lots of little fire warthogs running around and also tree guys that throw spears. Let me tell you something about this guy. Giant fire warthog is an asshole. My best piece of advice would be to just keep running around and using charged up ice shots on the big warthog. Once you kill him, everyone one else dies, so concentrate on him. And stay away from the fire trails that they all leave because more than likely, it will kill you very very fast. Third fight is the giant harpy again. Shouldnt be any problem. The last fight is with the stone guardian. Heres a huge tip to make this fight a lot easier. Kill everything on the way up normally and when you get to the platform right before the guardian, stay there. His rocks cant hit you on this platform. Alls I did was constantly spam the earth charged attack. I didnt even get hit once doing this method. Just keep charging up the earth attack and shooting. Make sure its fully leveled up too. After hes dead, your done!

NOTE:
These boss fights are also a great way to grind out any kills you have left for achievements, as well as make some coin. Once youve beaten the game, you will be back in the level select area. Set the difficulty to easy and play the last level again. Once you get to the final boss battles, the enemies pretty much respawn infinitely

One thing tho.. no Hero difficulty Its "Defeat the game on Brave difficulty, without changing it. =D

Takes about 7-8 hours to 1000 this game. The last achievement to upgrade everything is a grind. Just have to keep doing the last level over & over and take advantage of the re-spawning enemies. Was getting about 5000 coins every run =D

Great job dude. Just you want "below", not "bellow" in your top descriptions. Doing any vids for collectible locations?

Also:
Collectable - Sword - Bearstrike Blade - [1/2]

why is this 1/2?

Collectable - Tapestry - Mustandshock Tulwar - [1/1] - After fighting through the purple mist, continue forward. You now have to shoot the ice symbols to cross the water. Hop on the moving ice platforms and make your way over to the right, and youll see an island with 6 pressure plates. Step on them in the right order and a chest will appear
That would be a Sword, not a Tapestry. Kinda confused me when I was looking through it in the Frozen Loch

Also, a great way to grind out the 250 Defeats with each Charm is on the final Boss, The enemies keep respawning if you dont kill the mini boss.

The Brave Difficulty not unlocking for me

I finish the Game on Normal Difficulty, after this at the Ring of Stones i change in the Option Menu to Brave, play all Chapters again and no achievement

Why? Must be Brave complete from a New Game without any Upgrades?

And Upgrade Achievement, all Upgrade incl Coop Char Upgrades? Thats ridiculous farming

Regards

Yea you have to start on brave difficulty right from the start. You cant change the difficulty what so ever. And a great place to farm coin is during the last level boss fights. They have infinite respawning enemies. My suggestion would be to start the game fresh on brave difficulty, beat the game and get achievements for that, and then switch to easy difficulty and farm the last level boss enemies

thats suck^^

I think i can play / finish the Game on normal, then go to the Chaptermenu (Ring of Stone), switch to Brave and play all Chapter with Brave

Ok i play after all farming is done, a NEW Game for the Brave Achievement

Thx and Regards

/e

The Spawn on easy at the Endfight is not unlimited, 1-2 Minute fighting vs the Adds in all 4 Phases and the respawn stopped, only the Boss is then here

pretty sure that tapestry is Attack, Valor is later on in the level, and is marked correctly in your guide.

any tips on defeating the harpy guardian on Brave? i for sure thought this would be easier than the rock golem was, but i honestly can't get away from the little guys on the ground. i "Power Attack" the harpy until the bats spawn, throw 2 groups of "minions" (earth charged) at the bats and they all die and then i go to spamming regular earth arrows at the harpy until the bats/little green guys spawn. and i can survive for a little while throwing minions out and spamming regular shots at the harpy when i get a free second, but the little guys always get me.

Upgrade your Earth Charm power attack to the maximum, it will release 4 minions, than just charge your bow, and keep firing, while jumping in the screen.

The arrows and minion take care of most of the enemies, including those anoying little guys...

When you're alone with the Guardian, just keep shooting, in one place, and when it shoots at you press LT to the other side.

I got it to work. By where you said kill everyone up to that spot normally, it had confused me a little bit. To end up beating him I had to focus my attacks on the smaller guys on the platform above me, as they would still wreck my health. In between their respawns I was able to throw a few shots on the boss, as he was having trouble hitting me. I had thought you meant no one on that platform would do any damage. My mistake, I got it last night. Other than that confusion, really great guide I used it all the way through! Any tips on grinding out the final few upgrades?
