Halo 4 Promethean enemies and weapons

I'm not sure if you would consider these spoilers but just in case they are, I enclosed them in spoiler tags

 

The October issue of GameInformer began hitting the internet on Friday revealing a blowout of information on the Promethean enemies in Halo 4 for the Xbox 360 and their weaponry.

 

General Info about Promethean Enemies

 

[spoiler=infosofar]So far the information revealed includes the same three classes of Prometheans that we were introduced too during E3 - the Knight, Watcher and Crawler. However, the Knights are broken down into four different classes and the Crawler into three. The Crawlers act as shield cannon fodder for the Knights while the Watchers are support units that protect the Knights and summon other Crawlers. All three work together strategically to take care of their opponents.

Hmmmmm. I still think there's not enough variety with these guys as there's only 3 real types. One of the coolest parts of the other Halo's was the massive diversity of the Covenant, it gave each fight a new feel. Im glad the Covies are back in and I guess I'll have to wait and see what kinda of battle scenarios these guys produce what with the Watcher's abilities and whatnot.

I'm happy to see more diversity among the Prometheans. Sounds like the Battlewagons and Lancers will be bitches to plow through on solo legendary.

 

Ugh. Trying to hide and wait behind a rock while my shields recharge, and then a Lancer uses its Promethean vision to paint me out and assassinate me.

 

Oh, does anyone know if enemy AI will be able to assassinate you in the campaign or Spartan ops? That'd be aggravating, yet cool to see.

Seeing the Forerunner weapons, and remembering what Guilty Spark said about the Chief's armor being something like 10 grades below the latest model... I suddenly kind of want a Halo game set during the Forerunner's war with the Flood. :p I think it'd be some fun shit. Maybe as an add-on for Halo 4 or a firefight like mode for Halo 5.

I wonder if the will be any indication that one of the enemies are using Promethean vision - whether HUD or sound based.

 

I know I'm going to love the game, but if the covies weren't involved at all, I'd predict that these battles would be lame. "oh look, a lancer surrounded by three crawlers. Oh look he deployed a watcher. Take out the watcher, take out the crawlers, take out the knight. Wash, rinse, repeat"

I'm not sure if I'm rooting for Halo-2-esque civilwarstyle battles between the covenant and the prometheans, where they're too busy fighting to notice you.

Have any of you guys really thought about the frustration of trying to hide and wait behind a rock while your shields recharge, and then a Lancer uses its Promethean vision to paint you out and assassinate you?

 

 

New grenade? Chances it makes it to multiplayer? Slim.

Well I mean, it's pretty much a less-shitty version of the power-drain equipment piece from Halo 3. It'll probably make it in.

Does this mean there will be no Spartan Laser in Halo 4? The Binary Rifle it almost the exact same thing based on its description. Anyway I hope it is more akin to the Halo 3 Spartan Laser, the Reach laser was awful and basically took all of its purpose (vehicle killing) away.

The laser is IN Halo 4. Shown during E3 MP matches on Abridged.

The Spartan Laser is included in the game.

Mainly shown in the UNSC weapons trailer and especially the one with the dubstep.

i kind of hope they cannot, simply because with my fragile gaming state i can rage on AI pretty bad lol. whenever i play solo legendary its a pain in the ass to get killed, then i have the elite or whoever killed chief like - "AAHHHAHAH!!!!" whilest shooting my dead body... getting... angry.

 

then im flustered / angry so my accuracy is shit, they pwn me again then antagonize my body. even the grunts join in and start spewing out insults, lol i dont like master chief getting killed. however it is comical when the marines go into panic mode, once i had johnson go -

"alright.. lets load up the body, somebody get cortana out of his --" respawn lol
