Hi Guys,

I've heard in this game that it requires differing tunings for different songs. So here is my question. Does it force you to tune your guitar, or cane you opt for the game to simulate the tuning?

The reason I ask is I have a Schecter Omen Extreme - which quite conveniently has a Floyd Rose whammy bar. It's also got a locked in neck, so unless I want to use the fine tuning nobs, I would have to actually remove the strings to do different tunings such as drop D.

If someone could shed some light, that would be great!

If you're playing a song in an alternate tuning, you'll want your guitar to be in that tuning. Otherwise the acoustic sound from your guitar will be different to the note you should be playing, and even though it'll be quiet it won't sound right and will be really distracting, especially if you're quite new to the instrument

the game forces you to tune your guitar, it doesn't simulate. given the description you gave about your guitar, it will be a tedious task playing different songs off this game's tracklist.

I recommand you to use a second guitar for the drop-D songs.

The only other tuning is drop D, bringing E down one step is not really a pain after the first few times I started doing by ear when a knew a drop D song was coming up in my playlist.

Edit: I re read you're post that would be a pain, have you not got a spare guitar around, because it's doesn't really matter what guitar you use on this game it will sound pretty shit coming out the TV.

Yeah, I'd get a nice Squier or something for different tunings.
