X-Com Review Thread

Quote:
brutal, fatal and exhilarating. The feeling of dread when you realise you are doing damage control against a complete unknown entity. The smack of shame when you lose a nation or a soldier. The sense of achievement when your guns are big enough to one shot some of the lesser aliens, or the mission where you get home without anyone going to the infirmary, will leave you giddy. If you like tactics or the original, you will not be disappointed. Enemy unknown shows that old school games still have the reach and punch in today’s hand-holding environment, if you can handle its niche. The best thinking game i have played in a long while.

with every element of xcom’s complex yet utterly accessible systems – from meaningful combat tactics, to budget balancing, to life-or-death diplomatic decisions – feeding directly into every other aspect of the game, this is as compelling a world as any in recent memory. Enemy unknown is fast but thoughtful, mentally taxing but constantly exciting, and chaotic yet always balanced and welcoming. This really does do it all – and it does it very, very well

I speak for everyone when I say: Thanks for finding all those reviews!
But unfortunately, almost every (long) link is damaged. Typical Xbox360achievements-error: The middle of your links got cut with a few '...' (dots) ):

Thanks!
Though, keeping the links would have been just fine with a different code. Let me show you:

Code:
[url =http://homepage/]Text you can click on[/url]
If it's not too hard to pull off, it'd be nice if you can put the links in again. I was about to read every review you posted, to be honest V: Now I lost track on which I read and which I didn't.

I think the reviews are right on, but unfortunately I think a lot of people will try the demo and turn their nose up to this game. It's not a title for everyone, but for those who can enjoy a turn based strategy it's a really really good one.

Seriously one of the greatest games I've ever played, was a little sk
eptical of the demo but took a chance, and it's one of the greatest 60 bucks I've ever spent.

Nice review by IGN,

Great game but theres always room for improvement,
DLC or a new game underwater ....(I played alot of Terror from the Deep)
Bring it all on.
