Achievement Guide and Roadmap

Overview:

Introduction:
In Medal of Honor: Warfighter, you play several Special Forces soldiers who are fighting a terrorist organization bent on bringing a new weapon of mass destruction into the global picture. The fight will put you in the boots of three people, Stump and Preacher of Task Force Mako, and Argyrus (he may barely be in it, but still deserves credit), an Other Government Agency agent who has successfully infiltrated the enemy's forces. From Africa to Eastern Europe, and beyond, you will endure numerous firefights in a number of locations scattered throughout the globe, all the while hunting down the man responsible for developing the PETN, the world's latest WMD.

First Playthrough (Hard):
Your first playthrough, on Hard, will net you as much as 35 achievements and 565 if you finish all of the achievements as they become available to you on a mission-by-mission basis. Aside from a few achievements that require you to perform a certain task a number of times, most of the achievements come by doing something a certain way in a particular mission, as well as achievements for just beating each mission.

Tier 1/ Hardcore Playthroughs:
Tier 1 and Hardcore are unlocked after beating the game on HARD. Both are basically the same difficulty as Hard, except Tier 1 leaves you without a HUD, and Hardcore doesn't you to reload checkpoints, and if you die (or fail one of the chase sequences) you must restart the entire campaign, HOWEVER you can quit the game and head back to the main menu at any time, like if you're about to fail or die, and start the campaign back up at your last checkpoint - very useful for a relatively stress free Hardcore clear. You can still finish up any achievements you missed the first time around, but other than those you will also be looking to get "Hardcore", "Unstoppable" and "Tier 1", the first 2 being from Hardcore and the last from Tier 1. It should be noted, that doing Hardcore first, and then reloading the last mission and setting it to "Tier 1" and finishing it on that difficulty, will give you both associated achievements without replaying the game 2 more times.

Multiplayer:
Most of the time spent playing this game for achievements will be spent here, requiring you to level up to around level 70 where you will unlock your final soldier. You will want to win at least one game while playing with a friend, be the MVP in a game, get 20 kills with all of the primary weapons, complete 3 mission objectives, and get enough support points to use the Apache. Most of this will either take time and practice, or boosting. Don't forget to visit the achievement trading thread here.

Room Service - 20
Unlocked all door breach options

Master Locksmith - 15
Used each breaching option at least once

There are a total of 7 breach types, with each unlock require 4 headshot kills during a breach in order to unlock it. As you unlock each breach, use it the next time you breach, and do note that just about every breach in the game has 4 enemies to shoot (convenient). If all goes according to plan this will unlock during Chapter 6, as the sheet charge you use to breach the wall counts toward the achievement. Room Service, however, may not pop until mission 9 because you need to look at the breaching screen again to see that you have unlocked all options. Unlocked breach options carry over to the next playthrough.

Extreme Realism - 10
Recovered from near-death 5 times without dying

Near-death is when the perimeter of your screen turns red and you can hear your heart beat. Once you reach this stage, just take cover and it will go away within a few seconds. Repeat this process 4 more times for the achievement to pop. Should be relatively easy on any of the higher difficulty levels.

Tier 1 Imports - 15
Got 50 kills while holding enemy weapons

Whenever you kill an enemy, they will drop their weapon, allowing you to pick it up with . This pickup doesn't replace your current weapon, and also has ammo that can't be replenished by teammates, but adds some diversity to the gameplay. You can drop the gun at any time by pressing to swap weapons, but make sure to use them when you can to get the 50 kills you need, which won't take too long.

Peek-a-Boo - 5
Killed an enemy while using peek and lean in the Campaign.

Lean With It - 15
Killed 25 enemies while using peek and lean during the Campaign

When you're in cover (or whenever, really), hold and ease the until you are peaking around a corner/over a ledge and kill someone while you are still in this position. Repeat the process until you have 25 kills.

Lead Farmer - 10
Requested ammo from an Ally 25 times in Campaign

Whenever you are near one of your teammates during the campaign, hold to grab some ammo from them.

Tactical Toggler - 15
Killed 25 enemies while using Combat Toggle

While not totally helpful in the description, this achievement pops after you use to toggle between different scopes. An example of a weapon with two scopes that you can rotate between is the primary weapon you use in Mission 3. This will come naturally over time.

The Axeman - 20
Killed 25 enemies with melee during the Campaign

When you are near an enemy, tap to attack them or assassinate them if you're behind them. There are many opportunities for you to melee enemies during stealth portions of missions, and also when an enemy decides to rush you, so this should come naturally over time. Whenever you get the chance to take a guy out via a stealth kill during a mission, take it.


Unexpected Cargo - 15
Completed Unintended Consequences

Mission 1

Story related and umissable. The achievement will pop as soon as you shoot down the private helo and extract from the area.

Know the Enemy - 15
Completed Through the Eyes of Evil

Mission 2

Story related and unmissable. This is a very short mission where you can get the "On the Clock".

Completed the training in Through the Eyes of Evil in under 18 seconds

Mission 2

The last tutorial section of the mission is a timed even that takes you through a plane mock-up. When you start off, I recommend swapping to your pistol with , it's a lot more accurate as you move, just be sure to reload as you're going up the staircase. Turn right as you reach the top of the staircase to continue the timed event using the left doorways. If you choose to use the assault rifle, press to switch to semi-auto fire. Be sure to aim for the head and do not miss any targets, or shoot any of the blue hostage targets, moving the crosshairs to each target and pressing the will stick your crosshairs to either the targets head or chest, depending on which is closer. If you make decent time, get most of the kills as headshots, you should have a fine overall time after your score is factored in. If you fail, you can walk back to the start of the trial to restart it, or just reload checkpoint.

Leftover Lead - 15
Completed the sniping section in Shore Leave without missing a shot

Mission 3

Near the end of mission 3, Voodoo will do overwatch while you snipe some enemies that he will mark for you. During this part it is very important to note two things: the first is that holds your breath and steadies your aim, the other is that there is a lot of bullet drop. Aim at least a notch or two above each guy you shoot at, and make sure they aren't moving when you shoot, and you only need to shoot at the marked targets so for the sake of the achievement just ignore everyone else. Listen to Voodoo as well, as he will tell you if you miss or not (though you will notice if the marker is still there over the guys head or not). The achievement will pop shortly after you take out the guy with the RPG at the top of the tower on the right.

Mission 3

Story related and unmissable. This will pop as you finalize the sniping section of the mission, which is also where you get "Leftover Lead".

Vender Bender - 10
Destroyed 90 market stalls in Hot Pursuit

Mission 4

For the duration of the mission you will be in a car chase that takes you through some vendor filled streets, and also a vendor filled market where you will get most of the destruction. The stalls are the wooden, often canopied, stands on the sidewalks where people sell food, clothes, etc. Basically, spend as much of the chase as possible on the sidewalk, and weave a bit when you go through the market area. I had this achievement unlocked about a minute or so before entering the final section where I didn't notice any stalls at all. If you hear that it's time to take him down, there are no civilians around (without the achievement), reload a checkpoint.

Story related, unmissable. The achievement will pop just after you take out the driver of the other car.

Double Header - 10
Killed two enemies with one bullet in the Changing Tides Mission

Mission 5

Follow Mother through the mission until you are both under the floor of a house and he takes one guy out while you take out the guy outside. Proceed through the next building and out into an open area with a burning car. Voodoo will start talking and your path will take you around a corner to the right. You should immediately notice 2 guys walking next to each other, and Mother will tell you to just take them both out in one shot. You can get this as soon as they start moving, but if you miss it, just keep your crosshairs on the head of one of them and wait until the other guy's head is lined up with it.
You can also get this immediately following this section where you must take out 3 guys at once with Mother.

Rain of Terror - 15

Story related and unmissable. Achievement will pop once you get to the roof with Mother.

Release the Kraken! - 15
Killed 20 enemies during the boat exfil in Rip Current

Mission 6

In the last stretch of the mission you will be on a boat and controlling a grenade launcher, which you will use to shoot on guys on roofs as you escape the area. Basically hold down the trigger and aim at every roof you see with guys on it (DO NOT aim at the areas, aim below them, they are way too high up). Make sure you don't get friendly fire by shooting the other boat, and just keep unloading wherever you see a red marker over some bad guys. If this achievement does not unlock by the time you hear Mother say "We're almost there", just before a building crashes in front of your path, reload the checkpoint and try again. The last place this can pop is a building on your left after you take a sharp left turn around a corner, with an overpass on your right with some guys, and 2 roofs on your left.

Caught Faraz within 15 minutes in Finding Faraz

Mission 8

You will start chasing Faraz as soon as you gain control of Preacher. Start off by chasing him through some roofs and balconies, be sure to use to jump over low ledges so you can keep your speed. Stay on top of shooting the guys that come to help him as soon as you can and stay on Faraz's tail. You don't need to rush too much, but still be sure you are always moving forward, from cover to cover, and taking out enemies as you move. Once you finally catch up with Faraz, Preacher will take over and the achievement should pop as soon as you tackle Faraz.

After entering the cave system, you will eventually reach a shooting range, with lots of black target cutouts that you must shoot for the achievement to pop. There are also quite a few guys in here, so you should probably take them out first.

Got through the sandstorm without hitting any vehicles in Hello and Dubai

Mission 10

At the end of the mission long chase sequence, the security chief will be on your tail and you will lead him into a sandstorm. From the start of the sandstorm, you must make it through without hitting any of the oncoming traffic. It shouldn't be too hard to lose your pursuers once you hit the heavier traffic areas, but if they keep sticking to you, let them pass and just follow them to the exit. Once you get off at the marked exit, the achievement will pop, if not just reload the checkpoint and it will put you at the beginning of the sandstorm.

Mission 12

Play through the mission until you pass through a storage area, then a kitchen and head back outside. Once you head inside, chasing after your target (as the helicopters arrive), you'll quickly enter a hallway with people opening doors and shooting at you, and the "get to the bridge" marker at the end of the hallway. Before turning the corner out of this hallway, turn left into the door that allows you to open it by pressing and pickup the grenades that are on the floor for the achievement (and grenades!!).

Tier 1 and Hardcore

This unlocks along with Tier 1 after beating the game on Hard. Both are basically the same difficulty as Hard, however if you die OR fail one of the chase sequences (ie lose the target in Hot Pursuit, etc.) you will be forced to restart the campaign from the beginning.. Thankfully, if you need a break you can quit the game entirely, and you will be able to start the game back up at the last checkpoint, which can be VERY beneficial if you think you are about to die/fail as you can just quit out and start the mission back up (Thanks Legend Xz for pointing this out). You can test the waters in Hardcore by doing the "Unstoppable" achievement, though you should realize the first few levels don't say much for the difficulty of the rest of the game. Tier 1 mode is a much easier task to deal with, as it is more or less Hard mode with no HUD, as the checkpoint system is the same as Hard.

Note: To save yourself some stress, you can choose to either plug a USB drive into your Xbox, or setup your Cloud save system on your xbox and copy your profile save to the Cloud or USB every few missions. If you happen to fail and are forced to restart your campaign at any point. Exit to the dash, head to your hdd and copy the profile save data from the cloud/your usb and copy it to your MOHW folder on your console's HDD. This will allow you to continue from the last save you have on that save file. Thanks to GaminRaymon for the tip, check out his full post on it: here

Also note: Hardcore can be done first to allow you to replay the last mission on Tier 1 difficulty and unlock the "Tier 1" achievement without replaying the whole game for a third time.


Multiplayer

MVP - 20
Finished in first place in any online match

Have the highest score over all players in an online match. This includes both teams, any game mode, and the achievement will pop after the game ends.

All In -20
Called in Apache support

Apache support is given to you for maxing out your support bar in the top left of your screen four times. Each time you reach a support action you have the choice between either a defensive () or attack () option. The defense option gives you a base amount of support points to help you fill up your next bar, while getting a good amount of kills with the attack option can possibly net you more points, it's your choice. You must go through all of the bars in one game to reach the Apache. In order to do so, you must either get the points necessary for each new tier without using the support action, if you plan on dying, or do not die, and use the action to increase your points so you can reach tier 4 faster. If you use a support action, say a tier 2 action, and then you die, you will start over again from tier 1. However if you die without using it, you will start with some points lost and will have to regain them in tier 2.

My recommendation for this is to play a sniper in a Sector Control game and use your bipod () in an area where you are looking over most of the playing field where the enemies tend to congregate, usually around the central sector of the map. You don't necessarily need to even kill someone, just get lots of spot assists with your ISR automatic spotter that comes on once you deploy your bipod, use either of your support actions at each tier, and just don't die. Novi Grad warzone, at the hill spawn point when you are starting near the Northern sector and looking down the left side of the hill toward the central sector is usually a very good place to get this if your teammates are playing some decent defense to protect their side of the map.


There IS an I in Fire Team - 15
Finished a round as part of the top Fire Team

The top Fire Team is decided by you and your Teammate's score added together, and is compared against the rest of the Fire Teams in the game. When you're on the winning team, outscore the other Fire Teams on your team to become the top Fire Team. You will see you and your partner in a short cinematic at the end of the round if you are the top team. Check here for a teammate.

Brothers in Arms - 20
Won a round with a Friend as a Fire Team Buddy

Invite one of your LIVE friends to join your Fire Team, and then make sure your entire team wins the game. Need friends? Check here.

Warchief - 35
Unlocked all soldiers in multiplayer

There are a total of 72 soldiers that you can unlock in multiplayer, all of which are unlocked by leveling up. In order to unlock all of them, you must reach rank 69 in multiplayer. This also tends to vary by player, so check your soldier screen at battlelog.com

Jack of all Guns - 20
Earned the Marksman Pin for all Weapons

Each soldier has a primary weapon with which you can get a Marksman Pin by getting 20 kills with it. As you unlock alternate Soldiers for each class, you can change the primary weapon of your preferred soldier in order to get a marksman pin with your new soldier's weapon. This is what you want to shoot for to get your achievement.

Back in the Fight - 50
Completed one tour with all classes

A "tour" is completed once you have received 50,000 experience points while playing with a class. Receive 50,000+ experience points with each class to unlock each new tour. There are a total of 6 classes: Sniper, Assaulter, Demolitions, Heavy Gunner, Pointman, and Spec Ops.


Under the Tours tab in your battlelog.com account.

Honey Badger - 10
Use your Fire Team buddy to re-arm or heal

When your Fire Team buddy is close to you, have them hold near you to heal you or give you ammo, or press while facing them. It's a good plan to do it every time you spawn on your teammate to help them out.

Squad Leader - 20
Unlocked a soldier of each class

As you unlock soldiers via leveling in multiplayer, the classes will unlock in an order such that the number of soldiers you have in each class will be equal for every 6th unlocked. Basically you will unlock 1 soldier for each class until you have one for each, and then you will begin to unlock a second soldier for each class. Your first set of soldiers will finish up on level 6 (your initial class unlock counts).

Downrange - 20
Played online for 15 minutes

Simply spend 15 minutes playing online multiplayer. The game mode doesn't make a difference.


Job Done - 20
Complete 3 Combat Mission objectives

While playing the Combat Mission game type, and you're on the attacking team, you have the chance to plant a bomb at the designated locations by holding the until the bomb is planted. You have 3 chances to plant a bomb each time you are on offense. Bomb defuses do not count, and you can get the 3 objectives over the course of 3 different games (they're cumulative).

Global Warfighters - 25
Unlocked a soldier from each unit

The soldier unlocks vary a bit by player (though roughly around level 13), so check you soldier screen at battlelog.com.

I know this is gonna be asked time and again, so thought I'd try and ask early.
Can you confirm that if I die on mission 6 (for example) on Hardcore, I only restart mission 6, and I don't have to restart the whole campaign?

Just thought i would let you know, I'm playing through hardcore atm, and if you quit out and join back in you actually DO get to start at a checkpoint not the start of the level. Best thing to do is if you think there is a chance AT ALL of you failing QUIT OUT then jump back in at the checkpoint.

Great guide man. I love how you broke the sp stuff down so you know what to get per chapter. I played few hours or so of mp last night and really enjoyed it. I am glad to hear only 20 kills for each pin. But do you have to get all the pins?? could of swore last night i seen 200+ pins???

If you die on hardcore you have to restart everything again right ?The hole campaign?

But now you said if you die you just have to restart the hole mission?

whole not hole!! LOL. If you are playing and look like you are fixing to die or fail the objective you just need to quit. You will come back the the checkpoint for that mission. Just going to have to tackle each mission at the time.

Ok, cool. So Hardcore is the new Tier 1. Tier 1 you just lose everything that made Hard "easy", but you don't restart the level every time you die, just lose replenishing ammo, the HUD, indicators, etc. And the only difference between Tier 1 and Hardcore is that in Hardcore, when you die, you restart the mission, just like Tier 1 in MoH 2010. I get it.

And with the quit out feature (hopefully it's not patched), it makes it relatively easy.

Is it confirmed that the gameplay difficulty for Tier 1 and Hardcore are the exact same as Hard, just without the added features?

Absolutely, and thanks for pointing that out. When I wrote this up I had just finished Unstoppable and quit out at the beginning of Hot Pursuit (which I then failed after starting the game back up lol). Hopefully being able to just quit out will alleviate some stress of failing and redoing the campaign, especially to something stupid like losing a car chase.

As far as the difficulty of Hardcore, I would say it is just as difficult as Hard was, but I think knowing that if you get shot too many times, you're gonna probably start crying IRL so you make more of an effort to not get shot at all..at least if you're me.

My friend completed the Tier 1 without Hardcore achievement!
and i completed the Hardcore without Tier 1 achievement!

Thanks for the update. I had read in another thread that since they are technically two different "modes", not difficulties (even though they are), they would not stack. Looks like three playthroughs it is...

Thanks for the confirmation.. kinda sucks but I CAN see how they are sort of two different modes. Not quite as clear cut as it was in the first game though, but whatever.


Also, is "Global Warfighters" glitched for anyone else? I figured it didn't unlock because my dlc characters didn't count or something, but I have at least two guys from each unit now and still nothing.

One question for the Hardcore achievement.
Is it possible that you just copy after everymission you savestate to a memory stick or to icloud?So if you messed up on the flash drive savestate , you will be able to continue on the savestate on icloud?
Would this be possible?

Got a question about master locksmith. I sure hope this is going to glitch on me!!! This cheevo popped for me after i unlocked the last breech option. So what gives with that. I am at the driving level in dubi. I Dont know how many more breeches are in the game. I am hoping after i use the last breech option room service will unlock. Any suggestions?? It is almost like they popped in reverse order

Someone on PS3T.org confirmed that after you complete Hardcore mode, you can load the last level on Tier 1, complete it, and get the achievement for Tier 1! No need for an entire playthrough on Tier 1!

If you look at post #23, you will see that you have to play it on Hardcore first since you can't select a difficulty level higher than you've already played.

I must have retried that fucking kraken boat achievement 30 god damn times.

Enemies just stand there and wave at me while I unload a billion 40mm grenade rounds in them and just dont fucking die.

The whole thing is fucking glitched.
