Introduction
Angry Birds Space is just like every other Angry Birds game on the market. You use a slingshot to fire the birds across the level with the goal of defeating the well-fortified pigs. The game does differentiate itself from the original as it takes place entirely in outer space and involves launching the birds in zero gravity or into/through gravitational fields. There are a few new bird types, but otherwise the game plays and feels the same. There is around 150 levels to play, split across six different worlds. Currently the game is listed at $4.99 in the Windows 8 Store.

Step 1: Play until you earn 250 stars
Play through the game until your reach 250 stars. To make this go quickly, use 3-star video walkthroughs. If you can't get 3-stars on a particular level, just move on. You should also progress at least until level 5-19, as this will give you access to all the best levels for grinding some of the later achievements.

Step 2: Mop-up miscellaneous achievements
After finishing Step 1, mop-up any of the miscellaneous achievements you have left, which are those that require you to only complete a small task once in any level.

Step 3: Grind remaining cumulative achievements
After Steps 1 and 2, you will have many many hours of grinding left to earn the remaining achievements, the worst of which involves destroying a mind-numbing 500,000 blocks.

Conclusion
Angry Birds Space is nothing more than a boring grind to complete. There is no thinkable reason to have an achievement for destroying 500k blocks, something that will take upwards of 50+ hours to do when grinding, and probably 200+ hours to do if playing naturally. With that said, the other 190 can be earned in about 10-15 hours (plus some unattended idling time).

MACRO INFORMATION: If you have a non-RT version of Windows 8, you can download a macro recording program that will make the game significantly less time consuming to complete. Using a macro recorder, you can record you mouse movements and clicks. The recording can be looped indefinitely while you are away from you computer. This method is really only helpful for the repetitive grinding achievements. To find a decent program for free, just Google "Jbit Macro Recorder." I wont go into too much detail on how to use the programs. They are fairly self-explanatory. Just hit the record button, perform the task you want to do, hit stop, then hit play. The program will do all the tedious work for you while you are sleeping or go to school or work.

GUIDE

MISCELLANEOUS ACHIEVEMENTS (5 for 50 )

The following 5 achievements are obtained by completing one-time miscellaneous tasks within the game.

Name Popper - 10
Pop all name bubbles in the credits

From the Main Menu, click the Options button in the lower left corner (icon is a gear) and then click in "i" icon to bring up the credits. All you have to do is click every name bubble in the entire credits to unlock the achievement. You can manually scroll the credits to make it go faster. The small vegetable bubbles can be ignored.

Centripedal Force - 10
Shoot a bird into a Lagrangian point

A Lagrangian point is basically a spot in space that has gravitational fields acting on it equally in such a way that there is no net force. Basically it is a place that you can shoot the bird that it will get stuck in two overlapping gravitational fields. You will most certainly get this without even trying while collecting all the stars.

A good spot to earn this is Level 1-10. Just fire the bird as slow as you can right down the middle and it should get stuck. It will take a few tries to get the speed slow enough and the angle perfect. Thanks to I Spiritus I from TA for this method.

Three Hog Night - 10
Freeze 3 pigs with one ice bird

Ice birds are light blue in color and freeze everything around them when they explode. This achievement is most easily earned on Level 2-23. Fire your first bird (ice bird) to the large tower containing 6 pigs, arching him through the gravitational fields. Just before he lands, tap the screen to explode the bird, freezing the pigs in the area. You should have no problem getting three or more pigs with a well-placed shot.

Big Spook - 10
Make 6 pigs scared with one green bird

This achievement is quite tricky as the range on the green bird's scream which scares the pigs is not that large, meaning you have to use it very close to all 6 pigs to be able to unlock this achievement. The best level to earn this on is Level 5-3. Aim the green bird at about the second level from the bottom, and tap to release the screen just before you hit it. If done correctly, you will unlock the achievement right away. Thanks to zszaiss for this method!

Alternative Method: Level 2-18. Use your first green bird to knock some of the stone blocks off the top of the largest, middle tower. They need to fall in such a way that none of the pigs are killed. Then, with your second green bird, basically just fire it the same location so that it arcs in between the middle tower and the farthest tower (the stones you knocked down with the first shot makes this possible). Right before he makes any impact and you are near the two groups of 3 pigs, tap the screen to make the bird scream. Thanks to DarkxMaterials on TA for this method.

Banging Heads - 10
Pop pig with another pig

This achievement unlocks when one pig falls into another pig and pops it. You will definitely unlock this achievement without even trying when going for 250 stars.

CUMULATIVE (GRINDING) ACHIEVEMENTS (15 for 150 )

The following 15 achievements are obtained by completing cumulative miscellaneous requirements within the game.
All of your attempts of all the game's levels count towards these achievements. Unfortunately, there is no way to track your progress towards any of them. Just keep grinding until they unlock.

NOTE: Macros can be very helpful in earning all of these achievements.

Pig Popper - 10
Pop 1000 pigs

Just pop (destroy) 1000 pigs. This will come while completing the rest of the achievements, so do not worry too much about this one.

Bubble popper - 10
Pop 1000 bubbles

All bubbles in the game count towards this achievement, including the ones that contain vegetables, TNT, and pigs. This will most likely need a bit of grinding. The best level to complete this on is Level 1-26. There are 9 bubbles to pop and they can all be destroyed with a single, well-placed shot. See the video below for the technique. Thanks to Gamespot for the video.

Bird Launcher - 10
Launch 5000 birds

This will most definitely come before you destroy 500k blocks, but if you wish to get this out of the way earlier, load up Level 4-30. This level has 7 birds to launch, the most in the game. Launch all the birds in rapid succession. As soon as your last bird leaves the slingshot, pause and restart the level and repeat the process until the achievement unlocks. This method will take around 2-3 hours to launch all 5000 birds.

Starman - 10
Get 250 stars

Earning stars is solely related to how much score you earn. Score is earned for destroying objects, popping pigs, and completing the level with unused birds. Most of the time, earning 3-stars just requires a few well-placed shots and a bit of luck. Use Youtube to find videos to help you easily earn 3-stars on the levels. You only need to get 250 out of the 450 in the game for the achievements. If you get stumped or can't make the perfect shot on a level, just move on. No big deal. See the video below by NextGenWalkthroughs for the the first 60 levels of the game.

Pigsicle - 10
Freeze 500 pigs

Pigsicle - 10
Freeze 500 pigs

You can freeze pigs in two ways. 1) Gently popping a pig's bubble that is in space and 2) Using the ice bird's explosion. #2 is the only one that counts towards this achievement and is easy to grind. This achievement is most easily earned on Level 2-23. Fire the your first bird (ice bird) to the large tower containing 6 pigs, arching him through the gravitational fields. Just before he lands, tap the screen to explode the bird, freezing the pigs in the area. You should have no problem getting three or more pigs with a well-placed shot. As soon as you freeze the pigs with the ice bird, restart the level and repeat the process until this unlocks. This should take 15 minutes or less to grind all 500.

Gravitational Escape - 10
Make 100 birds exit atmosphere.

You just need to launch 100 birds out of a planet's atmosphere and have it fly off into space. You can either launch the bird from within the atmosphere, or just make it pass through the atmosphere before returning to space. This achievement should unlock easily while progressing through the game. However, it can also be quickly boosted on Level 1-19 in less than 10 minutes by rapidly firing all three birds to the left out of the atmosphere, restarting, and then repeating the process.

Menu Popper - 10
Pop 100 pigs in the main menu

In the Main Menu (the one that says "Angry Birds Space"), interactive bubbled pigs will fly by fairly frequently. You need to pop 100 of these to unlock the achievement by tapping them. Just keep popping for 5 or 10 minutes to unlock this achievement. You only need to pop the bubbles. You do not need to tap the frozen pigs again to shatter them.

Space Bird Fan - 10
Play Angry Birds Space for 5 hours

See "Space Bird Addict."

True Space Bird Fan - 10
Play Angry Birds Space for 15 hours

See "Space Bird Addict."

Space Bird Addict - 10
Play Angry Birds Space for 30 hours

You will without doubt get these three achievements when grinding towards destroying 500k blocks. All time in the game seems to count towards the achievement.

If you just want to earn these achievements with as little effort as possible, there does exist a simpler method. Luckily, the game counts time, even when the game is running unattended on your computer. First, make sure you computer is set to NOT hibernate, go to sleep, or bring up any type of screensaver. Then load up any level and just let it sit there. Personally, I think it is easiest just to set this up while you sleep (make sure tablet is charging if you are using one). Each morning, when you come back to your device, make sure to complete the level (either pass or fail) to save your progress. The achievements will also NOT unlock until your finish your current level (either pass or fail). After just a few nights, depending on how long you sleep, you will have these achievements.

Woodpecker - 10
Smash 5000 wooden blocks

This will most likely be the first block related achievement you earn as wood is probably the most common material in the game and can be broken by most birds. A good level to boost this on is Level 1-19. Just fire the fire bomb bird to destroy the most wood blocks as possible. Detonate it when you think your are in the best position. Pause and restart the level after the dust settles on your first shot. You can earn around 10 blocks per attempt of the level, netting around 100 per minute. It would take about 45 minutes to grind all 5000 wooden blocks.

Stone Cutter - 10
Smash 5000 stone blocks

Stone blocks are the grey ones. The best level to grind these on is Level 1-14. Use the three bomb birds to explode near the center of the three stone block clusters. You can get 15-25 blocks destroyed every attempt of the level, netting around 100 per minute. It would take about 45 minutes to grind all 5000 stone blocks.

Icepicker - 10
Smash 5000 iced blocks

Iced blocks are those that look clear and glass like. The best level to grind these on is Level 1-8. You get 4 birds that are made for destroying ice and nearly all ice blocks to break. Make sure you tap to split the bird into three before it makes contact to increase your effectiveness. Pause and restart the level to repeat when there is not many iced blocks left. You can get 15-25 blocks destroyed every attempt of the level, netting around 100 per minute. It would take about 45 minutes to grind all 5000 iced blocks. Level 1-11 may be better, but you get less splitting birds to work with.

Block Smasher - 10
Smash 50 000 blocks

See "Smash Maniac."

Smash Maniac - 10
Smash 500 000 blocks

These achievements are related to destroying any of the blocks in the game. Anything that you can destroy counts as a block. After finishing all other achievements, it will take you another 50 hours or more to smash a total of 500,000 blocks. If you are going to attempt this achievement, there are a few levels that work well.

Level 5-19: Use the three birds you are given to destroy the three large piles of miscellaneous blocks. I found hitting the bottom pile first, then the top, followed by a shot aimed towards the far right of the screen to clean up the mess was best. You can get around 40-60 blocks per attempt of the level, netting around 150 per minute. At this pace, it will take you around 55 hours to grind all 500,000 blocks.

Level 4-13: This level can also net you up to 80 blocks or so per attempt of the level. However, it is highly variable and a little trickier to make the shots necessary. The most important part is to hit the trees. They can be completely destroyed with one hit and contain around 15 blocks each. This outcome of this level is highly variable and you should probably just stick with the Level 5-19.

Level 1-16: Launch the two explosive birds at the blocks, one around the bottom and one around the top. You can get around 40-50 blocks per attempt of the level, earning around 150 blocks per minute. Thanks to PlanetGalida for suggesting this alternative level.

GUIDE UPDATES:

11/29/12
- Guide created.
12/5/12 - Added another potential level to grind blocks for "Smash Maniac" based on a tip from PlanetGalida.
12/27/12 - Added the information about using macros to help complete the game.
3/14/13 - Added an easier method to earning the "Big Spook" achievement. Thanks to zszaiss for the method!
10/31/13 - Updated the "Pigsicle" achievement based on information from zszais and JesseBlue that popping pigs' bubbles doesnt not count towards this achievement.

Great guide, really appreciate it.

I'm at 190/200 and of course have the ridiculous Smash Maniac achievement remaining...

Just wanted to add that fwiw, I think level 1-16 isn't too bad an option for this tedious task, even if just to break the monotony of the other suggested levels you can grind on.

Now there are only something like 50 things that can be blown to bits in 1-16 - but if you launch the first two bomb birds everything you're going to smash gets smashed - and since these birds fly pretty quickly, you can reset after the explosions at a good clip.

I'd estimate if you can do this 3-4 times per minute (launch two birds, one to the bottom half of the moon with the blocks, the next to the top half), then reset the level and rinse repeat... you'll hopefully also smash ~120-160 blocks per minute here too.

Anyway! In the time it took to type this, I could have destroyed uh... lots of blocks. :-)

Thanks for the tip. I will also add this to the guide, even though it seems to be a little slower of a method. they do become tedious. I am personally stopping at 190/200 but good luck to you mate!

Hopefully I can get achievements on IOS and WP8 at the same time.
Sorry I am not sure what you are asking. What do you mean by 1700? You should use the level described in the guide. I am not sure the bubbles from the credits would count.

Ah ok I will do that. I just read on TA that's how he got the achievement but it did not work for me. And yes I meant 1700, that's 700 over the achievement limit. I'm on 1-12 so a little time then I'll get to 1-26.

edit: I just macro 1-14, 3 bubbles every 5 seconds as for the WP8 version I'm working on 1-26.

Oh I wasnst sure how you knew you has 1700. There is no counter right? Yeah at some point here soon I will add about Macros for the Windows 8 games I have guides for. Just been lazy and maybe some folks consider that cheating or such. I been apprehensive to add that.

Yeah I read it was 130 per credit so I ended up with 1700. Anyways got the achievements now on 1-26 Macro saves so much time and I'm not doing these achievements twice the hard way. As long as it's not punishable by MS I see no wrong in using it.

Hi guys please explain this macro method. Do you know if its possible to do on my Microsoft surface? Or a lumia 920? I don't see it as cheating as its the same as rubberbanding which is widely accepltable.

My feeling is that it would not be possible on the windows phone or surface RT tablet to use macros. You would need some app that could do it. I searched on my 920 and came up with nothing. You can try search on your surface. But basically if you have windows 8 pro (including surface pro), you can download any macro program and use that (google "macro recorder"). You can record your mouse movements, then program it to replay those movements infinitely. So for example, in this game, record your mouse while you play through a level and smash 50 blocks. Then loop it. You will get those same 50 blocks over and over, and you don't even have to be at your computer. Macros can be used for any achievement where you would have to do something repetitively.

Thanks for the quick response. I kind of thought so, there is no apps in the windows 8 RT store that currently do this. I suppose I'll have to wait until I get the surface pro in a year or so.

google "jbit macro recorder" There's plenty macro programs to find but that one works best and won't exit when using it in-game. Except when ctrl+Q but that's not too bothersome unless you just can't get timing right then you have to go back into the game again and again. But at least it works compared to the other macro program I tried.

I use a windows laptop so there's no problem with apps only.

Well finally added some information to all my Windows 8 guides where it would be relevant. Now I just wish someone could figure out a way to get a macro app running on RT and WP8!

Nice work! Yeah hopefully works on the phone soon because that will be a grind I'm at 50% on most of these Angry Birds games. Very tedious work.

Edit: Finally bough Windows 8 OEM.
