As useless as you think the disguises are, I've found them to be quite useful on purist. You get spotted far easier without one on and on select levels there are disguises that are impervious to your enemies.

It forces you to think more and find the best path IMO.

That's not to say it doesn't have flaws but I that it isn't frustrating at times and flawed.

But the hockey-masks - are you SURE? Because I definitely remember murderizing a guy with a mask in Rosewood, stealing his disguise, and then noticing that I'm depressingly maskless.

Thank you both and possibly I can? Being serious about that answer by the way. But it also seems a lot of long time Hitman gamers like you and I don't like some of the changes. I would like to add more to my list.
  • I miss the old menu where you would select weapons scrolling around in a circle. This new menu feels like one from other games, and half the time I can't tell what weapon I'm selecting.
  • Some levels are too massive for a "Hitman" game. I just did one at Dexters facility whatever it was called and I was underground.. I hate to say it but that felt like Splinter Cell. I miss being in a hotel or a small block.
  • I miss the little things like my syringe with a sedative/poison, or being able to look through a keyhole on the other side of a door, turning off a light switch. Just about every wall has em but you can't turn the lights off.
  • Contracts Mode.. are you seriously timed once you kill the first target? Hitman is about taking time, prepping your next kill if I have a clock ticking I have to rush and that's no fun.
  • What's with the bloody invisible walls? I was in the desert and thought oh my let me run out not am I automatically turned around like IO's "haha you fool you can't go that way" but there is an invisible wall. I find it funny how that one level is blocked off by a train that constantly goes on n on and then the 3 car pile up perfectly blocking the road.
  • What's with being spotted when guards aren't facing you or through walls? Yes through walls. I don't remember the level but it's where you through the hooker over the railing to distract the guards.. but before that where part of the floor is missing a guard straight ahead yet I was in the room on the other side hiding with my back against a box and a wall to my right his flashlight came through the wall and he spotted me..
  • Your suits automatically changing from point A to point B, not all levels but some. Again at the Dexter Facility I dressed as one of the works, went into the elevator and when I was out I had my old suit back on.

So there's more to add to my list and take it from a long time Hitman player and fan. I love the game but there is so much that needs to be fixed.

Overall I think the game was pretty entertaining. The thing that's really getting on my nerves is the bloody 'Jack Of All Trades' achievement! Unlocked 20/20 on my first play through. Nothing. Started again and now I'm stuck on 19/20 with Undertaker (hide 5 bodies) refusing to unlock. Running out of patience...

- No weapon loadout. I can honestly say this killed the game a little for me.
- I didn't have a problem but it bothers me that there was so much hype over the extra weapons for preorders, yet no information passed on that you would need a card with a code on it and many people did not receive a card. Shame on Enix.
- Tying into the weapon loadout, the extra suits and guns are useless in single player due to not having a loadout.
- No map.
- Objectives. Collecting fuses to start an elevator because I HAVE to does not fit this series. That particular situation would have been just an optional way of dealing with the mission in Blood Money.
- Missions being divided up sucks. I'm thoroughly disappointed they took away the sandbox element of this series. "Here is your map, there are your targets, go killin'!" That is why I used to brag about this series to friends that hadn't played it, now I can't talk up the series anymore.
- The instinct blending in thing is something I could get used to, but the field of vision from the AI is ridiculous, even on Easy. I would prefer it removed, or at least not have to blend in if you had say a helmet on or something covering your face.
- You can hide rifles. This is Hitman, not GTA. I liked the suitcase with the sniper in it better.


Contracts mode is a great idea imo. It is simple, yet enjoyable and a great way to bring multiplayer into the series. But I am personally going to blame this for the shitty single player though, as it seems they focused too much on the new idea of multiplayer and didn't focus enough on single player which is what this series is about.

Honestly, I am going to get my 1000GS and probably not play this again. Whereas Blood Money took hours and hours from my life and made me fall in love with it.

Completely agree with everything here. Collecting the fuses was a complete joke. In Blood Money or any other title it was about an assassination not collecting fuses or doing a objective. For disguises I find it funny you can have your face covered and they still realize you are fake. I really miss the sniper rifle case I had so much fun in Blood Money taking it out as he put it together.

This also I do not understand. Even some silent weapon kills are heard and then I have to redo everything all over again. I think okay I will subdue this person so I'm not heard and what do you know someone hears me and it's over.

Take downs are bit odd also, I noticed if someone is going up the stairs and you have your gun out he won't eliminate them instead punches them but if they are on flat ground and not the steps he eliminates them.

So far i am really enjoying this game, but my only annoyance is the some what strange boundaries between safe and trespassing. Some of the areas are easy to tell, eg the back of a shop, or a room being guarded, but some areas i can't tell are hostile areas and i'm constantly losing points for being spotted. I am on the mission where you have to take out Lenny's gang and on the street i'm fine, yet when i set foot in the small park area, i'm trespassing

I know I'm replying a lot but how could I forget this? It's so annoying when you can't tell if you are trespassing until you are in that area and right away you have -points for it with no warning first, or instead getting a warning before stepping into that area. You know another area in that level? Well after actually I was dressed as a barber and went to get the evidence off the tv then all of a sudden I was trespassing.

Another issue I have is you can't go into FP like Blood Money. I was holding LT to zoom in a didn't know 47 holds his fists up so everyone got on me for that like I was ready to fight. LT is only way to see things closer which I enjoy doing at times seeing as we don't have our damn binoculars, where the hell are those by the way.

And it's so cool to just turn on some guy who's suspicious of you an give him the one-two but more than half the time some guy two doors down is alerted.

There's definitely a shitload wrong with the game, but despite my copious complaints I'm really enjoying it so far. The story is kind of cool (I really like Dexter. I can't quite place which movie villain he reminds me of...) and the levels that are more classic Hitman are very fun. Luckily Contracts lets you make pretty much every level into classic Hitman.

I find this game is actually pretty damn fun on Normal. Problem now is one of the play styles is glitchy for me. Can't get Jinx. It just doesn't register...

The disguises bit was really annoying me until I realized how it worked. Now I just plan ahead a little better. I still run into annoyances with some but now I actually have to think about what would be a better disguise than just knocking out the first poor bastard I see like in earlier games. Definitely needs to be tweaked though.

The lack of manual saves has been a pain, but on the flipside of this there have been many times where I had to think quick on my feet and actually surprised myself. Double edged sword on that.

No map doesn't bother me. Instinct replaces it and it just causes me to explore my surroundings before planning my move.

I hate how sometimes the "Subdue" or "Garrote" prompt doesn't come up when I come up behind my target, causing me to punch out said guy and be spotted.

I finished this game on hard yesterday and there is only one thing that i can say...
DID THEY EVEN TESTED THIS GAME ON HARD OR ABOVE?

The levels are stuffed with a ridiculous amount of goons and the half of them didn't even move from their position
If this isn't stupid enough, they spot you extremely fast and even through walls -.-
But the worst thing about this game are the extremely poor level-design.
Imo this game has the worst level design in gaming history!
Only 15% of this game was fun and the other 85% i asked myself how could they release Hitman in this condition!

Why cant we switch off the tutorial mode in the first mission? Thats actually one of the better levels apart from the constant tutorial.

The problem of the disuiges is that every level should have a few disguises that only a few peoples wears, like the scientist one in the last mission (there is only one scientist and the disguise is twice in the level, one in the scientist himself and one on a table).

Once you got it, no one notice you, except the scientist, of course.

Still, I think Blood Money was better in terms of disguise. In "A New Life" mission for example, you could get the FBI disguise and enter the house without any probem (and that was logical, as 47 wears sunglasses).

In Absolution, even if you have a disguide that cover your face (as in the orphanage), people still notice you, which render the disguide pretty useless and make the game a "Splinter Cell Conviction" one where you do not need any disguise, just need to be stealth.

But I think this problem come from the instinct, it's to let you use it but as you don't have any instinct in Purist mode, there's a problem.

Before playing the game, I thought the instinct thing would kill the game but in fact, no, that's more the missions which killed the game (and the ugly save bug).

The only missions that I like replaying are :

- King of Chinatown
- The Vixen Club
- Chinese New Year
- Streets of Hope
- Barbershop

(Those ones have Blood Money taste, you can walk without being notice, except in "Barbershop", but still, that mission is good compared to the others).

5 chapters out of probably 30.

That's a shame that even the worst mission of Blood Money is better than the best mission of Absolution, after 6 years of waiting (same for the save bug, I saw some people which put that on a rush problem of the editor, that's fucking hilarous. If you can't program a safe save code in 6 years, there's really a problem).

And too bad, because, if they would have put such missions like every two missions (so giving 10 or 15 missions like that), I would have called the game brillant (I have nothing against the other kind of chapters, as long as near every chapter aren't like that).

Anyway, the game isn't that bad but they got my money this time (and the previous time with Hitman 2, 3, 4) but they won't have it for Hitman 6, not before I can test the game (I now understand why Absolution didn't got a demo, contrary to Blood Money).

More or less same as GTA, they got my money for each games and they were great. They got my money for GTA IV and the game wasn't fun at all, so they won't have it for GTA V (even if the game looks better and funnier thant the IV, I won't be scummed like for Hitman Absolution).

And too bad, because, if they would have put such missions like every two missions (so giving 10 or 15 missions like that), I would have called the game brillant (I have nothing against the other kind of chapters, as long as near every chapter aren't like that).

My guess is he wants more actual Hitman missions with a target to kill. The game is seriously lacking in that area.

Thats a really good point. I wonder how many people would have given this a miss if a demo was released.

The Demo would of either been the first mission or King of China town. Small, easy to play levels. Or even that shooting range level.

I probably would of given it a second thought and debated if it was worth the money. Instead of impulse buying it on release day.

Yeah a demo may have made me think twice.
I blindly went with the EB preorder right away because I figured "Its Hitman its going to be awesome!".
Then the sniper challenge got me even more pumped for the game.
Then the game let me down.

Fucking stupid shitty achievement, anyway I collected all evidence but no achievement....i look on the challenges on the main menu and all the evidence challenges are complete, and I got the 1 at the store where U get a new suit, so yeah fucking stupid game.
