Any word on an Europe/Australia/NZ disc version?

Or if the US version is region free?

Apparently the Collector's Edition is a US Gamestop Exclusive. I checked their site and they do ship internationally (although I hate to think what the shipping cost would be). It also says the XBox 360 version is "Not Available", which I would take as meaning sold out.

Besides, I checked on play-asia and the US version is only playable on NTSC consoles. So your only hope would be the PS3 version.

Weird. I would of thought that it was available in New Zealand since your ratings board isn't as uptight as Australia.

Anyway, going by the press release, it's only available in the US and CA.

Today we're announcing that The Walking Dead will be available to purchase on disc from retailers in the United States and Canada this December 11th. Previously only available as a digital download, the series will now be available on disc for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Play-Asia has no info on whether it's compatible with a PAL console, so we're shit out of luck at the moment.

Oh well, I may have to download it via my US account instead, but I do prefer having physical copies when I can.

We're often lumped in with Australia and sometimes get "second hand" censorship. For example, we originally got the censored Australian version of GTA IV as the distributors didn't want to produce a different disc for Australia and New Zealand.

Yeah, you're right NZ did get the edited version of GTA IV, but just over a month later the New Zealand ratings board approved the uncut version for release there.

I think someone privately imported the UK release and got it classified, so the censored version was still the one generally available in shops. I think it's all pretty much academic now as it's been uncensored by later patches.

Not to get too far off topic, but as I recall downloading The Lost And Damned expansion reverted the game to its uncut state.

NZ didn't get the digital version as far as I know, because of this very same reason. Don't they realize we are two different countries?

I caved in and bought the Gamestop edition for PS3, if 360 didn't have the region issues i would have got it instead. But still i haven't finished it on PS3 so works out well.

Is there any difference in buying the disc and buying the 5 days separately?
I noticed each day is £3.50, so £17.50 to download, while the disc version is over £25, hmm.

I downloaded the free ep1 with my Asia account. Maybe the games are not region locked?

The downloadable version seems not to be region locked in any way, I downloaded the demo a while ago with my US account and played it in my NZ account, also picked up Episode 1 free today.

The downloadable episodes are most certainly not region locked.

This has just been rated by the Australian Classification Board (about time). It got a rating of MA15+. So it should be due for release in Australia soon. As I understand it will be getting an XBLA release as well as retail.

http://www.classification.gov.au/Pag...s5krEMwLq2PJNc

EB Games have it listed for $48 AUD, but no Collector's Edition listed yet. You can bet your left nut that if the Collector's Edition does become available that it will be at EB Games, seeing as how the US one was a Gamestop exclusive.

FUCK YEAH! Surprised that the price actually changed. EB had it for over $60 a few weeks back and now it's under $50!

Thanks for the update buddy.

Edit.
Hang the fuck on. MA15+? So that means this whole time, it would of passed had they submitted it when it was released?

Yeah, I know. All this time we could have had it. Apparently they didn't even bother submitting it until we got an R18+ rating because they thought it wouldn't pass as an MA15+.

As they say, better late than never.

I really don't blame them to be honest. I would not have thought a game like this would be passed as MA15+
