A single day: Boxing Day a number of years ago, walked out of Best Buy with 6 games in my hands, think I only spent $40 on the lot.

Over a period of time I think fall release season of 2011 for me, friggin hell I pre-ordered so many games it was like christmas snowfall when they all showed up at my office.

And that also made me broke.

The largest single games purchase I can think of was Boxing Day 2011. I bought Forza Motorsport 4, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, and Batman: Arkham City at once. I only spent around $100 for new copies. I did pretty well. However as a general rule I limit my purchases to one or two games at a time. There are only so many hours in a day viable or gaming and I like to focus on one game and get it done then move on to the next one.

Four, only because there was a 'Buy two, get one free' at Gamestop & I was buying older used games anyway, in total less than $30 total.
However, on Black Friday 2012 there we're plenty of good deals at Walmart so I purchased four new games for $75. I haven't even bought more than 3 or 4 new game's for my 360 at full price.

I think I remember buying 5 used games at GameStop a few years back. I forgot which ones, but I like buying used games. They're (obviously) cheaper and most of the time they work almost as good as a new game. I've only had to return a few games, but the rest ran without a hitch

The most I've bought is 3 at a time. Because of Gamestop's buy 2 preowned get one free.

My problem with buying more than one, I just want to play the other games...

Only 2. That was once on Boxing Day where I went with my family in the evening just for the hell of it since all the good stuff is out. I saw Gears of War 2 and Halo 3 for $20 each. I asked my Dad and he was just like "Sure, why not?"

It's not the case nowadays but a 6-7 years ago when I got my first full time job I would go up town on the weekend and come back with 4-5 games a week! Now I barely manage that a month Curse responsibilities! lol

7 + accessories:

Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY
Lollipop Chainsaw
Midnight Club: L.A. Complete Edition
Oblivion GOTY
Rocksmith
GTA IV
Dead Island GOTY
Chatpad and Headset
Energizer Power and Play Charging System
I bought it all at Best Buy: about $240

Sounds a bit crazy I know but let me explain. I moved from the U.S. to the Czech Republic almost 5 years ago to pursue a relation with my foreign exchange girlfriend (who is now my wife). I discovered that all electronics (especially video games) are very overpriced here (I've more than once paid almost $100 for a new release, and I'm not talking special editions). So when I was back in the states last summer I had saved up lots of spending money for games and electronics and I splurged.

On two separate occasions I bought 10-11 games (mostly pre-owned) from Gamestop.com. I currently have another cart on the site with 8 games in it just waiting for me to buy!
