Introduction:
Welcome to the fifth Devil May Cry game. You'll now be playing as a brand new Dante in a completely different universe. You'll be fighting your way in astonishing levels with 8 different weapons and a huge variety of insane combos. If you followed the series as of now, don't worry about DmC: Devil May Cry it's as good as ever and a bit easier too.

Breakdown:
Important note: The prices for the items are constantly increasing every time you buy any of them. I would suggest using the items carefully on your first playthroughs to keep them for the Dante Must Die difficulty.
Other note: You can track your progress for every achievement in the Extras section from the main menu.

DmC: Devil May Cry's achievements are very straight forward. Most of them are story related or cumulative and will unlock with natural progression. If you're going for the full completion, you have to play through the game on five different difficulties. You will also have to replay some missions on Nephilim and achieve the SSS rank on all of them. The required difficulties are as follows.

  • Human, Devil Hunter or Nephilim
  • Son Of Sparda
  • Dante Must Die
  • Heaven Or Hell
  • Hell And Hell
Heaven Or Hell and Hell And Hell won't be as hard as you think. Completing the game on Dante Must Die difficulty unlocks the Super Dante ability (infinite Devil Trigger). It levitates the enemies in the air for as long as you want and you make more damage. As the enemies are harmless, they're also vulnerable to all your attacks.
Mission select also allows you to replay any mission if you missed any of the 6 misc achievements as listed below:

  • Looks like it's your lucky day
  • Every hero has a weakness
  • It's only the rain
  • A man with guts and honor
  • Now my coat's all charred
  • Where does the time go?
  • Sensational!
There are also 122 collectibles (Keys, Lost Souls, Secret Doors) and many of them can't be found on your first playthrough as you won't have all the required abilities to reach them. Here's a guide with videos.
When all the Secret Doors are opened you can start doing the Secret Missions from the main menu. Most of them are very easy and some are harder. It shouldn't take more than five minutes to complete every mission.

Playthrough #1 Human, Devil Hunter or Nephilim.
Playing on any of these difficulties will help the new players to get used to the game's controls and specifications. I'd suggest playing on Nephilim first as it will be easier for you to switch to harder difficulties. Try to obtain most of the collectibles and go for the misc achievements to get rid of them first. I also suggest saving Red Orbs to buy the Health and Devil Trigger crosses for the Son Of Sparda and Dante Must Die difficulties. And by the way, I almost forgot, enjoy the game!

Playthrough #2 Son of Sparda
In this difficulty the enemy waves are remixed and your opponents are stronger and tougher. Find the collectibles you couldn't get in your first playthrough and again, buy as many Health and Devil Trigger crosses as possible for the Dante Must Die difficulty. See "Devils never cry" achievement for tips.

Secret missions
I would suggest completing all the secret missions before starting your next playthrough. Heath and Devil Trigger crosses fragments are awarded at the end of every secret mission. It will help you tremendously for further playthroughs.

Playthrough #3 Dante Must Die
Now that you have collected everything and have gotten rid of all superficial achievements, you will only have to concentrate on completing the game on the remaining difficulties. What is Dante Must Die about? The enemy waves are remixed again and your opponents are even stronger and tougher. See "Devils never cry" achievement for tips.

Playthrough #4 Heaven Or Hell
On Heaven Or Hell, you die in one hit and you kill anyone in one hit. It's even easier if you have previously unlocked Super Dante. See "This is what I live for!" achievement for tips.

Playthrough #5 Hell And Hell
On Hell And Hell difficulty, you die in one hit, your opponents have their normal health and the difficulty is set to "normal". With Super Dante, after four playthroughs, it'll be a cake walk. See "And welcome to Hell!" achievement for tips.

SSS rank on Nephilim
Now it's time to go back to Nephilim and complete every mission with a SSS rank. You should know the game well enough at this point, it shouldn't be a problem for you to get this rank on every level.
See the "Jackpot!" achievement for tips.

Glitchy achievements
"Let's rock baby!" and the "Jackpot!" have been reported to be glitchy.
If you bought all Dante's crosses and the "Let's rock, baby!" achievement didn't pop, simply return to the Start menu and then go back and buy any item.
If the "Jackpot!" achievement didn't pop, go back to the start menu and then complete the last mission on Nephilim again.

Conclusion
Overall, this game is insane. I haven't had as much fun with a game for a while. The visuals are absolutely stunning, the bosses and enemies are original, the gameplay with its dozens of crazy combos is simply fantastic. The achievement list is solid and challenging but not too much, just as we like it. Thumbs up!

Looks like it's your lucky day10
You completed a level without taking any damage

As soon as you acquire the Angel Boost ability, replay mission 3 on Human difficulty. Kill the first enemy wave and cross over to the end of the level using the Angel Boost. If you take any damage use "Restart Level" instead of "Restart Checkpoint".
Level 15 might also be a good bet as you don't have to fight anyone. Complete the level without missing a single jump and ignoring the enemies.

Every hero has a weakness10
You completed Furnace of Souls without taking damage from the furnace

On mission 17, fire will shoot out from between the platforms. You have to complete the whole level without taking damage from the fire. Take your time with every jump but be quick when you have to use the Angel Lift ability ( + ). It might be tricky to know if the fire hurt you because nothing except your health bar will tell you if you took damage (no vibration in your controller for example). If the fire hurts you, simple restart to the last checkpoint.

A man with guts and honor10
You reached the end of the descent on Mission 6 having killed all of the enemies

On mission 6 you will have to get to the end of the descent in less than two minutes which is very easy, although, you will have to fight all the enemies in your way. It isn't hard even on the harder difficulties. Take your time to kill the enemies any way you like and the achievement should unlock as soon as you use the Demon Pull ( + ) to open the valve at the end.

It's only the rain10
You Killed 10 enemies by pushing them into the Hurricane ride

The Hurricane Ride will be found in the first level.
Ten enemies will spawn in this area and you have to levitate all of them into the Hurricane Ride. It's very easy if playing on human, simply hit (do not hold) and the enemies will die instantly as the Ride crushes them.

Now my coat's all charred10
You navigated the Sky Bridge without hitting the lasers

You will eventually get to a hallway of lasers in mission 16. You have to get to the end of that hallway without touching any of the lasers. As the lasers pause, simply use the Angel Boost ability to bypass them. There will be a fight in the middle of that hallway, but you don't have to worry about any damage taken there. If you miss anything simply restart to the previous checkpoint.

Where does the time go?10
You completed a level in 2 minutes or less

Once you have acquired the Angel Boost ability, replay mission 3 on an easy difficulty. Kill the first wave of enemies and get to the end of the level using the Angel boost. Or this can be done on chapter 15 by simply ignoring the enemies.

For Tony Redgrave10
You killed 50 enemies using nothing but firearms

There are three firearms in the game (Ebony & Ivory, Revenant and Kablooey). Once they're unlocked, you can switch to any of them by pressing and they are used by pressing . The easiest enemies to kill with firearms are Bathos and Pathos. Use the Demon Lift ability ( + ) on Pathos to take off his shield before shooting him.
Most of the other enemies can also be killed by guns, but I'd suggest to damage them first. Killing them only with firearms will take much more effort. 50 gun kills is very easy if playing on Heaven or Hell difficulty as the enemies die with a single bullet.

In the name of my father10
You killed 100 enemies using nothing but Demon weapons

There are two Demon weapons in the game (Arbiter and the Eryx fists). Once they're unlocked, you can switch to any of them by pressing and they are used by applying any of the unlocked combos while holding the button. This achievement will unlock naturally as you play through the game.

You'll never have her fire10
You killed 100 enemies using nothing but Angel weapons

There are two Angel weapons in the game (Osiris and Aquila). Once they're unlocked, you can switch to any of the by pressing and they are used by applying any of the unlocked combos while holding the button. This achievement will unlock naturally as you play through the game.

Impressive10
You have slayed 100 Demons See "Looks like we have a winner." achievement.

Bring it on!20
You have slayed 1,000 Demons See "Looks like we have a winner." achievement.

Looks like we have a winner30
You have slayed 5,000 Demons

5000 kills might sounds like a lot but if you're going for the full gamerscore, this achievement will unlock naturally. If after you've completed everything else you still need kills, load chapter 10 with Super Dante active and get to the part where you'll be fighting enemies as well as being filmed by the camera. Activate Super Dante and use Ebony and Ivory to rack up kills. As soon as the reporter talks about sexual diseases, restart the checkpoint. Rinse and repeat until you unlock the achievement.

Sensational!10
You gained a SSS Style Rank during combat

A SSS Style Rank is unlocked when a good variation of combos is applied without taking any damage. This achievement will of course be easier if most of the upgrades are unlocked. Try to combine all four Angel & Demon weapons and your firearms in the same fight.
Personal tips: The Trinity Smash is an extremely powerful combo that gives a lot of style points (Rebellion + Pause (Arbiter) + ). I'd suggest using this ability when a few enemies are remaining. It's a very slow attack, you don't want other enemies to hit you while you perform your Trinity Smash.
The Tremor attack (Arbiter + ) is also very good to hit many lined up enemies at the same time. Another combo that greatly helps me to rack up a lot of points is the combination of the Buy In, Killer and Cleaver (Aquila + Pause + ) + (Aquila + + + ) + (Osiris + + Pause + + ). Buy In and the Eryx Stomp will help you tremendously -> (Aquila + pause + ) + (Double Jump + Eryx ).
The start of mission 11 on is a good spot to unlock the achievement.

It's showtime. Come on!20
You earned 1,500 Style Bonuses

This is a cummulative achievement and will unlock with natural progession.
Style Bonuses are awarded when a combination of many different attacks is applied. Simply play the game using your favorites combos and it should unlock either on your first or second playthrough.

This is my kind of rain10
You have spent 10,000 Red Orbs

See "Absolutely crazy about it" achievement.

Absolutely crazy about it20
You have Spent 50,000 Red Orbs

Red Orbs is the money system in DmC. You can spend them on items that can be bought before you start a mission or at Divinity Statues. Killing enemies, finding the Lost Souls and destroying environmental objects (lamp posts, gambling machines, red cocoons) will bring you Red Orbs. 50,000 should take between 3 and 4 playthroughs to earn. I'd suggest buying Health and Devil Trigger crosses first as they're expensive and are very helpful for the Dante Must Die difficulty (they are also needed for "Let's rock, baby!" and "You can't handle it" achievements).

Let’s rock, baby!10
You have upgraded Dante's health to maximum

To max out Dante's health, you'll have to have to buy all 6 Health crosses which will cost 29,000 Red Orbs and complete the first 13 secret missions. To complete the secret missions, you'll first have to find the keys required to open the Secret Doors that give access to the secret missions. A guide on where to find all the collectibles can be found Here and a guide for the secret missions themselves can be found Here.

You can't handle it10
You have upgraded Dante's Devil Trigger to maximum

To max out Dante's Devil Trigger, you'll have to buy all 3 Devil Trigger crosses which will cost 16,000 Red Orbs and complete the last 8 secret missions. To complete the secret missions, you'll first have to find the keys required to open the Secret Doors that give access to the secret missions. A guide on where to find all the collectibles can be found Here and a guide for the secret missions themselves can be found Here.

Power... Give me more power!20
You have purchased all of Dante's combat upgrades

Dante can unlock 79 upgrades through the game. These are bought through the pre-mission settings or via the Divinity Statues. Upgrade points are required to buy new abilities and are earned by gaining Style Points. You should have enough upgrade points in either your third or fourth playthrough.

Dude, the show's over!10
You have found all 21 Keys

There are 21 collectible Keys in DmC. They are required to open the Secret Doors.
See the "Keeps getting better and better" achievement.

Let's welcome chaos!10
You have opened all 21 Secret Doors

There are 21 Secret Doors in DmC. Keys are required for the doors to be opened.
See the "Keeps getting better and better" achievement.

And you are set free10
You have found half of the Lost Souls

See the "Fill your soul with light" achievement.

Fill your dark soul with light20
You have found all of the Lost Souls

Lost Souls are collectibles in DmC. There are 80 of them that can be found on walls. Kill the souls for them to register.
See the "Keeps getting better and better" achievement.

Keeps getting better and better40
You have been awarded a 100% completion rank on all missions

There are 122 collectibles in the game that need to be found (80 Lost Souls, 21 Keys and 21 Secret Doors). You can't get all of them on your first playthrough as certain abilities are required to access these.
Finding all collectibles on a level will help you get the SSS rank at the end of it. A great playlist of video guides has been made and can be found Here.

Stylish!10

Too easy!40
Completed all missions on the Son of Sparda difficulty

The Son of Sparda difficulty is unlocked after completing the game on Human, Devil Hunter or Nephilim. The enemies are tougher and the enemy waves are remixed from the previous difficulties. See the "Devils never cry" achievement for tips.

Devils never cry100
Completed all missions on the Dante Must Die difficulty

The Dante Must Die difficulty is unlocked by completing the game on the Son of Sparda difficulty. The enemies are even tougher than in Son of Sparda and the enemy waves are "insanely" remixed. If you saved up your items since the beginning, use them as you wish. If you're eventually game over, you will restart to the last checkpoint with your items back.
Many enemies are a pain-in-the-ass and ,very often, you'll be fighting many of them at the same time.
  • Overall ground enemies: There are safe attacks that can be used. For example, (Eryx + Jump + Hold ) or (Arbiter + ). Both of them work even on shielded enemies. The Trinity Smash is by far the most powerful attack (Arbiter + + Pause ), but I'd suggest using it when there are only a few enemies remaining as it's very slow.
  • Flying shielded enemies: I'd suggest killing them first as they'll attack you with range attacks. I use the Demon Pull on their shield first ( + ), then the Angel Lift to reach them ( + ) followed by rebellion combos to knock them off ( + Pause + ) or ( + + + ).
  • Ground shielded enemies: Depending on the amount of other enemies, use two followed Demon Pulls ( + ) on them and then use all of your favorite Arbiter or Eryx Fists combos (Arbiter + Pause + ) or (Eryx + Pause ) or (Eryx + Jump + Hold ).
  • Chainsaw guys: If they charge at you, hold + + + with the rebellion to shoot three blades to stun him as well as inflicting a lot of damage.
  • Tyrans (huge rock babies): When one of them charges at you, double jump over him, use Demon Pull ( + ) on his back and use the Trinity Smash on him (Arbiter + pause + ).
  • Butchers (giant guys with circular saws): The Butchers have unpredictable attacks so for this reason, even if it takes time to kill them, I use the Arbiter to smash his belly twice and then evade. A charged Uppercut (Eryx + Hold ) or a Trinity Smash (Arbiter + + Pause + ) is extremely powerful against them, but be very careful when using these attacks.
  • Harpies (flying metal witches): Shoot their wings with your preferred firearm, use the Angel Lift to get closer and just spam any of your favorite combos.
  • Rage, Blood Rage & Ghost Rage (normal, blue and red spiky animals): These are really annoying and they are very often coming in groups of two. If they are normal or blue, I personally love to damage them in the air. For the Ghost Rage, I double jump over them and then use the Osiris to lift them up ( + ) -> Double up (Osiris + + Pause + + ) -> Angel Lift ( + ) -> (Aquila + + Pause ) -> (Aquila + + + ). That was one of my personal favorite air Combo. If there are two ghost rage, you can use Round Trip (Aquila + ) to immobilize both of them to then blast them with Angel combos. If you encounter one Blood rage and one Ghost Rage I'd suggest killing the Ghost Rage first as they're harder to kill. For the Blood Rage, use the Eryx Stomp (Jump + Hold ) or combine any Eryx/Arbiter combos. Again, they're very annoying, but you'll figure out your own way.
  • Witches: I suggest killing them first. Use the Round Trip (Aquila + ) attack to take off their shields and simply spam them when they are stun. Rinse and repeat until death.
  • Dreamrunners (Ninjas): These are tricky. When they jump in their portal, you got two options. First one, wait for him to jump out , evade and spam him with Rebellion or Eryx. Second one, hold or with Eryx or hold with Rebellion, release when they jump out to stun them and inflict Rebellion or Eryx combos.

This is what I live for!10
Completed all missions on Heaven Or Hell difficulty

This game mode is unlocked after completing the game on Son of Sparda difficulty. When playing on Heaven Or Hell difficulty, you kill anyone in one hit and you die in one hit. It's much easier than it sounds. Use Ebony & Ivory to kill anyone in one hit. I also suggest completing the game on Dante Must Die difficulty first as you'll unlock the infinite Devil Trigger which will makes your playthrough even more easier.

And welcome to Hell!100
Completed all missions on Hell and Hell difficulty

If you're new to the Devil May Cry games, the first time you hear about Hell and Hell, it sounds impossible as maybe it was in previous games. In this one, it's much easier. What is this mode about? You die in one hit, the enemies have their normal health and the difficulty is set to normal. If you die, you can use up to 3 Golden Orbs to revive yourself as they're free and unlimited. If you loose all your orbs and die, you will restart to the last checkpoint with all your Orbs and items back. Something else that will make your playthrough a cake walk is the Super Dante (infinite Devil Trigger) ability that is unlocked by completing the game on Dante Must Die difficulty. What's the Devil Trigger ability? It levitates the enemies in the air which makes them vulnerable to all your attacks… the best thing is, you can use it as much as you want.
See This Guide for tips on bosses.

Jackpot!80
Completed all missions on the Nephilim difficultly with a SSS rank

There are three factors that will decide of your overall rank at the end of a mission. Your Style Points, the time it took to complete the mission and the percentage of collectibles found. Obviously, the level has to be completed in the shortest amount of time. Finding all the collectibles is also highly suggested. The hardest part though, is to earn a big amount of Style Points. It's also what will most likely decide of your overall rank at the end of a mission. The best way to rack up points is to use as many different combos as possible. The Trinity Smash is an extremely powerful combo that gives a lot of style points (Rebellion + Pause Arbiter + ). I'd suggest using this ability when only a few enemies are remaining. It's a very slow attack, you don't want other enemies to hit you while you perform it. The Tremor attack (Arbiter + ) is also very good to hit many lined up enemies at the same time. Another combo that greatly helps me to rack up a lot of points is the combination of the Buy In and the Eryx Stomp (Aquila + pause + ) + (Double Jump + Eryx ). Other great combo -> Buy In, Killer and Cleaver (Aquila + Pause + ) + (Aquila + + + ) + (Osiris + + Pause + + ).
If you go in Select Missions, you can see the rank you already achieved on every mission.

This party's just getting crazy!20
You have completed 10 of the Secret Missions

See the "One hell of a party!" achievement.

One hell of a party!50
You have completed all of the Secret Missions

To unlock all the secret missions, you first need to find all the keys to unlock all the secret doors. Once this is done, you can play any of the secret missions from the main menu. Some are very easy, some are much harder, but with practice you'll eventually complete all of them. Here's a guide for the secret missions.

Shit, that changes everything, I thought I only changed my Y and X buttons, I thought B was Default for guns. Do you know the default settings?

Edit: I edited everything, these should be the default settings

awesome guide it helped me alot! But I thing a 8/10 difficulty is not true. I got the original 1000G, have not played the DLC but I cant imagine it being harder. Its really not that challenging, the only challenge is to play through it multiple times so you need to be patient. It took me around 50 hrs but at no point was it really that hard, even if you have not played any DMC before.

Just wanted to say that because at first when I saw a 8/10 achievement difficulty I thought it would be a hard one but no I would say 5/10 for the base game, as I said have not played the DLC.

It was a personnal opinion based on my little experience in Hack 'n' Slach games, but you're totally right about this, the game doesn't deserve 8, but 7 might be okay. I don't think 5/10 is true though.

It would be a 5 for people who play these type of hack n slash spectacle fighters alot. But yea 7 sounds more appropriate. 8 just seemed a little high, but cool that you changed it and thanks again for the guide and work!
