Question about Assassin Creeds

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I couldn't think of else where it would be suitable

So I have 10 days holiday coming up so I bought myself a couple games to keep me occupied and my question is in which order do the Assassin Creed games go as I've never played any of them but heard good things about it and just trying to open my mind up to different franchises.

I got
AC - Brotherhood
AC - Revelations
AC II
I have a feeling Brotherhood & Revelations aren't the first but if somebody could explain to me I'd appreciate it.

I really liked AC 2 but I never finished it because I got stuck and sold it. I really wish I would have kept it.

Well, he didn't ask for in terms of quality...and you put AC1 near the end? 1 has been the only good one lol.

Aye, but thanks for the input guys I like to play in order so going to pick up the first before starting the 2nd. Got batman and fallout 3 to keep me busy until I can be bothered to pick up the first AC.

You should be able to find most of these games for pretty cheap. AC 1, 2, and Brotherhood are Platinum hits, right? And I got AC: Rev for like $10.

I really enjoyed the ac series. Well except for ac 3. Just couldn't get into it and haven't finished it. I played them on ps3 and now working to get them played again on the xbox.
My favorites are ac2 and revelations. The end of revelations could have been done a little better but it still was a great game to me.

Ive recently started the series too, one was a horrible drag for me personally, overly repetitive, and the lack of subtitles left me out of the story at parts (I cant always play with loud volume due to situations at home), i wasnt looking forward to playing 2 at all, but its a great game, so if you dont enjoy 1 too much, dont worry. Just my opinion though, i know a lot of people loved the first.

Agreed x 1000. The original AC is a masterpiece, the best story of them all.

Playing 3 now and it is very hard to get into. The story starts out slow and at least so far is very up and down.

You should pickup some headphones.

Assassin's Creed 3 (2012)

This is me, but don't be put off after playing the first as I found it was very repetitive, I just wanted it to end, and for me any way no subtitles was a problem. AC2 was a much better improvement.

I generally play when my girlfriends around and has the tv on, or mates are around, whilst a simple solution, headphones results in more annoyance than anything haha.

I wish I hadn't played them yet and I could play through all 5 in a row. For me they are the most enjoyable games out. Maybe not the best games but I always had a great time playing them.

They're all great games, the first being the most memorable, but personally AC II is the best game overall - no multiplayer bullshit. AC 3 has tons to do. Revelations & Brotherhood are great too, but don't compare to the original 3.

Multiplayer shouldn't affect your opinion on the game. You could just not play it if you dont like it. Problem is people care far to much about achievements...and if mp achievements are invovled...they let that affect their opinion on the game as a whole.
Would be like saying GTA would be an awesome game...but because it has a multiplayer...I'd have to rate it down a few notches even though I don't need to play it if I don't like it.

*cough*Bioshock 2*cough* Great story IMO but the multiplayer was rubbish, so much potential really.

But yes, answering the original post as I'm already here it looks as though you've got your answer. I enjoyed the series as a whole, but the first will always be the best (even if the game mechanics are so-so), the story is great.

Multiplayer didn't completely affect my opinion on the game, it was just a bonus that 2 didn't have any. Sure I care about achievements enough to rate a game over another in a series, but thinking about it now, even if the rest of the games didn't have any multiplayer then AC 2 would still remain my favorite AC game.

Also, I couldn't imagine GTA without multiplayer. Not a good example.

I didn't like the MP in GTA 4, played it once, that was enough.

My mistake, just GTA IV without multiplayer, I've played it so much it's the other half for me.

I thought the Free Roam mode was fun, in fact many hours were spent dicking around in that with mates. The other modes? Forgettable at best.

I'm so tired of typing this. Glad you did first.

And, this is an achievement community. So, while maybe not "care far too much about achievements", they shouldn't complain about something that's 100% optional.

Exactly my point, the team games were OK at first, the co-op missions are pretty fun but the freeroam is where its at. Spent a whole summer messing about it there.

You'll probably want to get Brotherhood before starting Revelations, as II, Brotherhood, and Revelations are a mini-trilogy inside the series, so you would lose a bit plot comprehension-wise.
