Game Info

Ubisoft is back, and at it's best. The makers of the first Vegas installment are making the sequel, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. After leaving fans on a cliff hanger the story will take off where we left off...

The new game includes:
  • Ubisoft Montreal Returns – Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is back in the hands of Ubisoft’s Montreal studio, creators of the award-winning and highly acclaimed Rainbow Six Vegas, to ensure that ending to the Vegas story is one you’ll never forget.
  • More Vegas – Sin City is back and bigger than before. Explore all new Vegas hot spots as the environment changes from dusk to bright daylight to dawn, creating a visual experience that is as challenging as it is breathtaking.
  • More Multiplayer – The highly acclaimed multiplayer mode in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas has been upgraded to include 11 new, smaller maps that force more intense face-offs, 2 new adversarial modes, more rewards, and easier access to matches using the improved and intuitive matchmaking system.
  • Unprecedented Customizable Experience – Create your own identity that stays the same in both single player and multiplayer modes and progresses as you do. Reap the benefits of your single player rewards in multiplayer and vice versa.
  • Vastly Improved Co-op mode – Turn single player mode into co-op mode at any time, just by jumping into the game. Now your friend can jump into your single player game and help you without any change to the story. Single player maps and storyline were created with co-op in mind, which means every map has multiple entry points and the story is the same.
  • Improved AI – AI is more challenging than ever. Now, the terrorists are equipped with thermal vision, night vision, and shields – not to mention a multitude of varying reactions – all of which are guaranteed to give you a new playing experience every time you go into battle. As you progress within the game, you’ll only be able to outsmart your enemies by taking advantage of intel opportunities, such as thermal scanning, and tactical strategies, such as leapfrogging.
  • New Weapons and Armor – Take down the terrorists more effectively using 11 new weapons. New camouflage, clothing and gear allow you to take customization to the next level.
  • Full PEC Experience: A greatly improved PEC experience - your character evolves online and offline, in both single-player and multiplayer modes.
  • Advanced Strategical A.I. Terrorist Leaders are now a strategic target for Rainbow - leaders control respawns, so when you take out the leaders, enemies can no longer respawn. Terrorists Enemies have a wider variety of reactions and use ballistic shields. Team Rainbow Can use the Leap-frogging technique for safely approaching an area defended by an opposing force. Teammates cover each other successively when they move forward.
  • Enhanced Multiplayer Modes. Up to 16 players via Xbox LIVE
  • Two-player split-screen mode 13 maps for co-op and adversarial play Including three maps from R6 Vegas, revamped maps from R6 Raven Shield and all-new maps
  • All-new co-op experience. Co-op story mode. Two players can combine to play through the entire story mode Jump-in-jump-out mode. A second player can jump into a single-player at any point, becoming a fourth teammate in the Rainbow team Co-op terrorist hunt. Up to four players can work together to eliminate all terrorist threats on single and multiplayer maps
  • New adversarial modes. Demolition. Attackers plant an explosive device at one of two predetermined locations and protect the bomb until it explodes Team Leader Teams must keep their leader alive while they escort him to the extraction point while preventing the enemy from extracting their own leader

SWEEET, this is also going to be sick, Vegas is one of the best games ever made, no exaggeration. so i am holding high expectations for vegas II, but since its Ubi Montreal, they will probably meet that expectation.

There is a new video announcement on the homepage. This game looks so sick. I posted this comment in on that page already but if they made improvements to the original vegas this game is going to be played for a long time just like the last.

GameSpot lists it as 03-11-08 in the U.S. and 03-14-08 in the U.K. Those should be shipping dates btw.

EDIT: GameSpot and IGN now list RSV2 as 03-18-08, at least in the U.S.

I seriously need to finish Rainbow 6 Vegas because I stopped right in the middle and never finished. IT was a great game and I intend on getting the sequel.

Yeah, the game got pushed back a week to the 18th, but a lot of websites and publications (*cough*xbox.com*cough*) still have the old release date -- the 11th -- posted. That is what is causing so much mystery over the exact release day.

Can this all be on the same console? I have some friends without xbox but we wanna play RB6V2. The box says co-op 2-4 and multiplayer 2-16 players, But I can't find how to get 4 people on the same console.

Any help?
