Seriously Edited?

I absolutely loved Serious Sam when it originally came out on the pc, even when it came out on the xbox. But what the hell have they done to this version, they have butchered it.

There's no intro movie anymore. The cutscene where sam is surfing with one of the cyclops monsters is gone. The whole scene with Sam going to a christmas world is gone. Even the ending is different. Also Mental doesn't get a mention til the end of the game.

I thought they would remove a couple of boring things. Not the stuff that made Sam more funny and the story more interesting.

I was really looking forward to playing this and I feel violated for paying the 1200 for an edited version.

Anybody else share my views?

Chris

Oh right, my bad.

Still it don't change the fact the ending is different, and the cutscenes have been removed not to mention that Mental don't get mentioned til the end of the game.

This is a remake of the PC First Encounter, not the Xbox remake. The Xbox version included cutscenes at the beginning/ending of levels and an entirely new intro.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. I mean fine, the PC version IS the way it's meant to be played but this one just feels badly done. I mean what's so HD about it anyway? From what I recall it doesn't look much better than it did on the Xbox, unless you mean those ragdoll physics and glowing fire golems. The lack of splitscreen, rubbish framerate and influence on autosaving are all factors that are ruining this game for me. I love the way they advertise all the HD crap and the use of the new Serious 3 engine, but didn't bother to fix some of the PC versions major bugs? Like rocket jumping. It makes some achievements easier and is fun to mess about with sure but WHY THE HELL is it still possible to do it?!

If Rocket Jumping wasn't an intended addition to Serious Sam, they wouldn't put trampolines outside the maps to get back in, plus, by looking at the Metropolis King achievement, I'd say they're trying to promote Rocket Jumping..

Couldn't they have used typical invisible barriers then?

lmao

dude, then how can you explain some secret areas which you can only get to via rocket jumping? After Quake, many games actually abused r-jumping feature. It is NOT a 'bug', 'kay?

This game totally need rocket jumping and like someone else said, the cutscenes were only in the xbox version. However it seems like the map is missing this time around. I liked the map
However I think they added some new secrets to this HD remake
