On topic: I'm surprised a lot of people are mentioning Grand Theft Auto IV. I was under the impression that everyone hated Niko Bellic and his bowling-crazed cousin. I hear talk of The Lost and the Damned or Ballad of Gay Tony being much better than the main course.
Fixed I hope?

Wow, that's a crazy cast. Can't believe I haven't seen this yet and if I have and can't remember I need to watch it again.

Both Liberty City Stories were better than the original IV story without a doubt. Playing as a badass biker or going clubbing around.

What was I thinking! Fixed it, although it's still quoted in Kane's post Amazing movie though.

And I don't understand the love behind GTA IV. I played the hell outta that game but I don't remember the ending at all unless someone were to spark my memory of it. A forgettable ending definitely means it wasn't that good.
I certainly will watch it sometime.

Hope I fixed the one in my post too? If not let me know.

I don't remember the ending either, I just think it ended near happiness island, lol. As you said too, a forgettable ending which has happened with a few other games. I forgot how Bioshock 2 ended, what a shock there, lol.

Apologizes for such a massive post.

Edit: About to get bigger... lol

Hmm...

1) Halo 3
-Driving the warthog was epic, the music just make me pee my pants. Bit biased as Halo 3 is my favorite videogame of all time.

2) Mass Effect 3
-I know 99.9% of people disliked it, but I thought it ended amazingly at least in my 2 outcomes and it had a solid ending, but made you think a bit beyond it as well. The rest of the series were also fantastic endings.

3) Portal 2
-Getting out into the real world!!! It took so long!!! Wish we could've seen more than the damn corn field.

4) Borderlands
-Defeating the final boss, having the vault be resealed for another 200 years and the signal that turns claptrap into the Interplanetary Ninja Assassin was EPIC!

5) Halo: Reach
-I think the ending was boosted knowing in fact that it was the final Halo made from Bungie, in my eyes it signaled the end of the Halo series (at least the good one) I think it was ended perfect having the final "level" where you were just stranded getting assaulted by endless number of Covenant and then your helmet dropping when you die and showing in the future when the land has grown back grassy. Not to mention Autumn fleeing and Emile getting stabbed!!! It was such a great ending.

Hmm, I really liked the Halo 4 ending and the epic music that was playing in the background. I also really want to play Borderlands and get that 50G for killing the final boss, thanks for the reminder rdskns170!

I have to agree Reach hardly felt like a Halo game at all. The ending didn't make me cry or mad I was more like WTF just happened oh well. Maybe cause my guy was so generic I could care less about his fate. I was so much more happier with Halo 4's SP.

La Noirs Ending on the other hand made me scream and cuss at my TV for 30 minutes straight. I felt it was the worst ending I have ever seen in any game. It felt lazy and stupid.

Lookout guys for Cole to be the star of the next Final Destination movie.

You're being a total scrooge in this thread lmao..

..anyway, the whole Halo story post Combat Evolved kind of sucked. Getting progressively worse and climaxing with 4.
The story in Assassin's Creed has followed in a similar fashion, yet both games still sell millions of copies.

OT. The endings to Singularity were pretty cool... Let's Do the Time Warp Again. The ending to both of the recent MoH games, especially knowing the characters were based on real people (more accurately in the first one). Also; the Metro 2033 Enlightened ending.

Oh man, lol. Just picked up L.A. Noire from the GoD marketplace since it was cheaper than trying to get a copy of the complete edition.

Not sure if I should be looking forward to it now, I understand Rockstar was the publisher and Team Bondi was the developer.

Ah well. It looks like one of those games you can't really play for three or four hours straight, just get in a good case or two every day. Gameplay seems repetitive but very unique, I like how you can interrogate people and question if they're lying or telling the truth. And the motion capture! Pretty sexy. I'll probably dig the detective work too, I think L.A. Noire is a very promising new IP. I'll look forward to starting it on my own, once I clear up some of the games I'm working through at the moment.

Was it just the ending that was bad, or did the limited free-roam play a factor in the negativity towards L.A. Noire?

RDR ending was one of the best if not the best.
AC series has great story, so rooted in history, but games' endings are just very good. They're not excellent, because they always lack something. I can't say anything about AC 3, I still haven't played it.
Fable 2 also have an epic ending, much better than Fable 3 and Fable 1. The choice you make is just difficult and Theresa's behavior - mysterious. Awesome game.

Somewhere in here, there's a lingering joke about Half Life 3...

I cannot stand cliffhangers in general, so the ending to Episode 2 was very bittersweet. Hats off to Valve for making me care quite a bit about the newly introduced characters in that game.

OT, one of my favorite game endings is probably Red Dead's. Feel sorry for anybody who doesn't complete it.

AC Revelations has an AMAZING end to it. Probably my favorite.
Others that are close are Dead Space 1( almost as good as Revelations), Red Dead and the good ending to Far Cry 3.

This is a toss up between Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood for me. The Desmond story arc for those two games were so taut. I have to say they were my favorite of all-time.

Pretty much every Call of Duty game has an epic ending, but my vote for the best ending is Halo Reach. Nothing makes a more fitting end to a game than a last stand (especially when you already know it's a fight you can't win).

I have to say there is a lot of great game endings, Red Dead Redemption being a fine example. But I have to say my favorite ending of all time is Gears of War 3. Gears is probably my favorite franchise and with gears 3 they gave full closure to the trilogy and I completely love the ending. So yeah that is my favorite, but grrr why do you have to ask such hard questions :P because the're so many great game endings.
