Which gigs are free and which have to be purchased? I've already completed them all on medium and hard, and going back for expert but I'd rather not play the ones that I originally had to purchase. Any help?

Anyone one else get a "glitched" play as _______ achievement?
I've done purple haze and wind cries marry a ton of times in quick play and no achievement.

Edit - Oh yeah, already having it might be the reason why I'm not getting it.

I'm a bit confused about the 'Axe Museum' achievement. I've completed the guitar tour on hard, but I'm not confident that I could 5-star every song on that difficulty. but now that I've done them all on hard already, would it not be possible to replay them all on medium for the purpose of this achievement?

I don't know what the song is, but if your only problem is that you strum too slow, try taking the strum "bar (or whatever its called)" between your thumb and your forefinger, then just strum up and down fast. That is the way I like to strum in songs like Assassin

I hope you don't mean you are going to game save this.

If it is just a question about should you be saving your game, well yes.

something that i have seen, but not attempted, is take a piece of duct tape and put it so one end is on one side of the strumbar, then it folds over on itself, and the other end goes on the other side of the strumbar, creating a flap of duct tape. just pinch the flap inbetween your pointer finger and thumb and you should find that you can strum much faster
------------
PM about any achievements i have that u have questions about and i will be glad to help

Hey guys, can anyone explain what the requirements are for a career to be considered "completed"? My solo career achievement didn't unlock after the credits rolled and I played Pull Me Under, nor did it unlock after I played the other gig in that venue, with Satch Boogie.

I checked back through the other venues and it came when I unlocked Zak Wlyde, who was the only celebrity I hadn't already met. I still have some other gigs left, but all of them are ones that need to be bought- so to complete a career do you need to A). both reach the credits and play with all the guest stars or B). play every free gig in the career?

I hope it's the first method if only because it's faster to do, but seeing as Bling, Bling will take forever I guess I don't care if it's the latter.

Oh, and I sorely underestimated Satch Boogie :-( Can I five-star that gig on Hard and have all the other songs I did on Expert count towards Axe Museum, or do I have to start a new Guitar career from scratch?

The gigs that aren't free are bonus, so you shouldn't NEED to play them to win or get the completed achievements. So no need to do Tesla's Coil, Sunna's Chariot, the Recording Studio or that god awful Tool gig.

first of all, in order to get the career complete chievo you need to complete all free gigs, encores and all, and roll through the credits.
second, to get the axe museum, just five star all songs on guitar on any difficulty. so look for ones that arent five starred and just play them on medium or hard or whatever.

Chances of hitting Bling Bling while doing Jack of All Trades?

Curious, doing Bling Bling...how long does it take to earn that money? I'm most of the way through a medium career on guitar, 2nd career (first was drums on easy) and I've only earned about $36,000 so far. Seems to be going very very slow!

Planning on doing bass career on hard next and then vocals on either beginner or easy over a few beers for Jack of All Trades. I suck at singing, tone deaf and have no range, rock on!

Am just plugging away at a few gigs here and there when I find the time. Not going marathon on it. Ugh, would drive myself mad and get sick of the songs. Can't do expert on any instrument...just not that good.

Chances of hitting Bling Bling by the end of the 4th career? Likely / not likely?

I would say very unlikely. You are going to have to put in some serious hours for that one. The fan trick is almost essential. I also read on the guitar hero 5 board that if you have a controller with a turbo button you can turbo "A" and keep it pressed down then it will keep going through the options at the end of the song and so keep playing, especially good when you aren't there.

Haven't had a chance to try this out myself yet but I would really like to sometime to confirm that it works.

I´ve heard from 17 until 20 from September Microsoft will give everyone free days to play online.
I need a couple of achievements online. If you can help in these days please write me a message or here. I will help you with this game too or with other ones if i have them.

FINALLY! i finished off the "Bling, Bling" achievement. it took a little under three weeks to get. but trust me, i completely NO LIFED this game. here is what i did:

*keep in mind this isn't the best/fastest method, but for me it helps because i don't get as zoned out*

i downloaded the free metal pack on the marketplace. i would put my mic up to a fan on expert and play a setlist of "No Sleep Till Brooklyn, On Broken Glass, and Grave of Opportunity" over and over. each set i would get exactly $2,000 (except a few times, somehow, i would get a slightly higher score on a song, which would increase by $25 for every song that this would happen for.

i repeated this method nearly the whole time, unless i decided to actually play for fun occasionally. like i said, it took a little under 3 weeks. the best thing to do is to set a goal for each day, say like $25,000 per day, and make sure you keep on track. it really isn't too bad, but i aimed for $50,000 a day since i didn't have a summer job at the time. it is a lot, but it is manageable if you are occupied doing something else such as watching a movie. i also would put my save file on cloud, and have my friend do like $10,000 - $20,000 a day when i couldn't get on.
