It doesn't for some games, but it's bullshit. If I buy a DLC, I should be able to play it, regardless of being online or offline.

Lair of the Shadow Broker for sure. Tiny Tina Assault on Dragon's Keep was really fun. The Vietnam DLC for Bad Company 2 was a great set of maps easily some of my favorite multiplayer maps of all time.

All of Halo 3's DLC. It was the most memorable and most fun i ever had online. For this reason it is my favourite.
Moreover, i also ended up enjoying Borderlands 2's Assault on Dragon Keep. It was was witty and crazy at the same time. I actually felt like a warrior in the DLC but with guns.

1. GTA IV DLCS They felt like their own game.

2.Undead Nightmare-RDR

3.Deadrising Case Zero-5$ and it had content worth double that.

4.Point Lookout,The Pitt,Broken Steel-Fallout 3. They were magnificent

Worst DLCs

L4D1's DLCs Short, forgettable, waste of money. Loved the game hated the dlcs. The DLCS in L4D2 look like a joke lol screw that.

Operation Ancourage Fallout 3-The mechanics to AIMING weren't there,so game felt weird being a military simulator.

Mothership Zeta-Fallout 3. This felt unnecessary and really stupid. Being trapped on a space ship and doing the same stuff over and over.

The sad thing is that it's better than the actual BioShock 2 campaign.

Another vote for Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep in Borderlands 2. Great example of DLC done right. Looks of new content, really fun, achievements are decent, not overly hard, doesn't make you hate the original game (which a lot of DLC does). Complete opposite to Moxxi's arena thing from the original game.

I never had a Gamecube so the upgraded versions of Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 were really great.

Agreed. Just finished this one and was pretty happy with it. It didn't feel like a chore playing it.

All Mass Effect DLC's, particularly The Citadel but Shadow Broker, Leviathan, they were all great. Skyrim and Oblivion's DLC's added lots of fun as well. And Fallout 3 and New Vegas's DLC's... Awesome! DLC's really add a lot to the game sometimes.

Have a few that I thought were great pieces of DLC.

1. Minerva's Den (Bioshock 2)
2. Lair of the Shadow Broker (Mass Effect 2)
3. Leviathan (Mass Effect 3)
4. The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned (Borderlands)

All of the listed DLC brought (in my opinion) a lot of content and in some of the cases it also added a lot of backstory.

Point Lookout and Broken Steel for Fallout 3. All of its DLC is good in its own way, but these two felt the most complete and gave a feeling of vastness to an already great game.

Minerva's Den in BioShock 2 also gets special mention, it gave more tale with a romantic flair to it, and a villain that actually wasn't that bad to duke it out with.

Injustice's DLC is also proving to be a fun misadventure, while hard giving each character bits of their own story mode and some really nice flavor to play with.

Lastly, a lot of the DLC for Borderlands 2 (Tiny Tina, Badass Crater, Krieg). While I don't have the last one it's kinda fun to see people play him, and the previous two gave the game some teeth and a bit more to play with. Shame Hammerlock's stunk so badly though. :|

I don't download much DLC, but Shivering Isles for Oblivion was really fun. Can't really think of any others I own that stand out as much as that one.

I've never been a big DLC guy because I'm so impatient, I move onto a game before I play the add-ons.

I rarely like games that have DLC. In series like COD or Halo, even when the DLC is good, it almost never seems worth the money, and the achievements the DLC adds are nearly always endless frustration to get, because of the game struggling to differentiate your gaming experience from those who don't have the DLC, while simultaneously trying to please both anyway. Basically what I'm saying is: Try getting all the Halo: Reach achievements without boosting. You will never get the right map, and if you do, you won't get the right gametype. Since I only ever got DLC maps while boosting, it's difficult to feel like the 22 quid I spent wasn't a complete waste.
TL;DR: I don't like DLC. It often feels like a shameless grab for your wallet, especially as an achievement hunter.
That said, there are some good ones. Minerva's Den, The Ballad of Gay Tony, Undead Nightmare, Lair of the Shadow Broker...they were good.
You know what wasn't good? Almost everything else.

I agree with these 3, and also Lair of the Shadow Broker from Mass Effect 2 and Awakenings from Dragon Age:Origins. By far the best DLC i've ever played.

1. All DLC for the Fallout series was quite good (and had quite a bit of content).
2. Mass Effect series DLC have been pretty good at adding content to the game, though most of the achievements are far too easy.
3. Select Halo map packs (mainly Halo 3)
