Anyone else getting Mirror of Fate HD?

Personally, I'm a huge Castlevania fan and I've played the DS version. Not one of the better titles in my opinion, but I'll still be getting this day one. That price is a bit steep though.

Thoughts?

15 Euro for a game that cost 45 when released on 3DS, wouldn't say that's steep.

For a port that's an arcade title I think $15 is a bit steep. Just my opinion.

Did you happen to complete it on the 3DS? Are you getting it for XBLA?

At least they didn't go the the same route Capcom did with Resident Evil Revelations. I haven't actually played it, was considering picking up a 3ds for it, so will definitely be downloading it.

Revelations is one of the better new Resident Evil titles IMO but a bit short, gave me a creepy Resident Evil 1 Remake feel I bought it full retail and it did not disappoint me at all being an old school Biohazard fan.

I might pick this game up, i have not played it on 3DS at all but love Castlevania games, imo sidescroller Castlevanias are where its at but the others are alright as well I kinda liked Lords of Shadow and am looking forward to the sequel.

I bought a 3DS only for that game, pre-ordered the 3DS one, and played it through multiple times. I'll be buying the 360 version, the PS3 one, and when it's got a release date, the PC version. I love the Lords of Shadow series, and yeah, I own the first on all 3 platforms it's on, and will do the same for LoS2.

Played the trial, and as soon as I started playing as Simon with that mini-map at the top right, it took me back to my old metroidvania days Unfortunately however, there wasn't enough of the trial to play, and even though i'm a HUGE Castlevania fan, I just wasn't 'feeling' it with this title, at least based on the short trial (never did play it on 3DS as I never owned one).

Does this getting better later? Trial is quite crappy and the game doesn't feel like Castlevania at all.

Yep same here. Then played through the trial.
All of this reminds me that i was purchased JPN version of Symphony of the Night, months ago and should play it soon.

Only played through the prologue, but it seems they did a good job mixing the Lord of Shadow title with a Metroidvania feel. Wasn't really expecting a side-scroller (I haven't paid attention to anything reported in the past) but am looking forward to get into it more.

Anyone that's already played the 3DS version care to make a guide?

Hey Guys I got this last night (launched early in Aus) and I freaking love it. Never played the 3DS version but the graphics are vastly improved obviously. The game is a classic throwback to the old style Castlevania/Metroidvania games with pretty good 3D modelled enemies and backgrounds. There is plenty of exploration in the levels where you have to come back with a certain character or item to get to an unreachable area. You can even bring up the map and put in a note so you don't forget where they are! The combat is good, a little bit button mashy in some places but I am only lvl 5 so have unlocked a lot of different moves yet. This game feels a bit like a cross between a 2D god of war and Shadow Complex and so far I am totally enjoying it. For some reason there are no reviews out yet but trust me you wont be disappointed.
Let me know if you have any questions about the game.
