Battlestar Tex's Gamercard
The biggest problem with killing Donald's plane and PT-23 is that in the final part Donald will get shot down by the computer (which doesn't count towards the achievement).

I personally had to play the mission 3 time because the first 2 he was shot down by the computer before I could get to him.

Does anyone know the specific requirements for Tin Can Captain? Do you have to sink 20 ships with torps in one mission/multiplayer game, or is it cumulative?

Me and a buddy boosted this on a ranked island capture map. He just made a ton of LST's and I made a couple of destroyers. Have the destroyers make a run over to the LST's but stop about 1.5 miles short of them as believe it or not the LST's will chew up the destroyers with their main gun in less then 45 secs.

Then have the guy controlling the LST's take control of one and turn it broadside to the destroyer and maintain control of the LST as it will attempt to successfully move out of the way of the torpedo as it gets closer. The player with the DD fires 1 torpedo from 1.5 miles out. Usually the LST doesn't have to move but sometimes it is necessary to move the LST enough so the the torpedo impacts. Its a one hit one kill deal. Do that 19 more times then switch sides. Easy as easy can be...just a tad bit time consuming.

Good Luck!!!

Achievement Help

If there is anyone who can help me with the online achievements I would be greatly appreciative. Hit me up on my GT Disturbed CFH. Thanks. Also, if you send me a friend request, glance through my other achievements for this game and see if there are any others you can help me with. Thanks again.

earning xp is partly based on amount of hits you deliver to an enemy unit you can set up a 2 player island capture game 1 player takes the main base and builds battleships the other builds lsm with rockets use the lsm rockets to take out the battleship (rocket range exceeds bb artillery range) and just keep repeatin till the time limit reached. iv got this info from official website and i havent tried it yet due to the fact i cant find anyone to boost with can anyone else confirm?

I'll try it with you breastfed...will send you a FR but won't get off work till early this afternoon. Probably be on around 3:30 pst. I have another idea on how to get big xp points from another forum.

I wouldn't continue this conversation in this thread as this is more geared towards the achievement trading thread.

Secret Achievements

Past Memories10 Destroy both Henry’s ship and Donald’s plane in Pearl Harbor.

In the beginning of the Pearl Harbour mission fly towards the airfield. On the far side of the airfield you'll see a PT boat labeled "PT 29"...this is Henry Walker's boat that he is cruising on in the beginning of the Battlestations Midway game when he is on his way to the USS Phoenix and the game starts. Kill him and a japanese pilot will say something like, "His name was Henry, but this is not his story." Then play through the game until you come to the part where you have to destroy 5 fighters. As soon as that happens start flying as high as you can for about 10 seconds and look to the north...that is the direction Donald's plane came from the 3 times it took me to kill him. The plane is labeled Donald's P-40 I think....try to kill him as fast as you can...what happened to me the first 2 times is my fellow wingman shot him down before I could and you don't get credit. Good Luck.

I’ve Changed My Mind10 Land manually on an airfield or carrier with a kamikaze squadron.

To get this simply take off in a Kamikaze plane but make sure there are 3 in the group, then turn around and land.

To do this simply come in the oposite way to you have taken off and slow right down and your landing gear will automatically drop down all you need to do now is stop the plane safy on the carrier or airfield. As soon as the planes speed gets to 0 you will get the achievement.

Underwater Hideout10 Discover the secret underwater cave of Sydney Harbor.

ok the cave is on the Japanese mission "Attack on Sydney Harbour"

To get this achivevment dont folow the markers set on you map follow the river straight on from the bridge. look on your map at the end of the river you will see a very big rock formation (big light brown patch) at the end of the river. when you get to it you will see a big entrance simply go inside and you will see a billboard with a Japanese flag on it as soon as you get to it you will get the achievement.

Map by boyday

Trainkiller10 Destroy the train with the exploding refinery in Air raid against Indochina.

As the achievement says, you have to destroy the train with a refinery which is located just outside the tunnel that the train is going for. You have a TON of time. I took out the 30 targets and then when the train was next to the 3 big fuel tanks close to the track I targeted them and the train blew up instantly. I had strafed it down to half health but I suspect you don't even have to do that.

Flying Fish5 Land on the water with a seaplane or flying boat.

I got this real easy...just go into a aviation training session (I used the japanese). When its loaded up go to the shipyard and launch a seaplane. Then take off...and then slow right down and land it. As soon as the speed hits 0 the achievement pops.

Fleet Commander50 Reach the rank of Lieutenant.
change to the first glitched achievement as far as i know no one has this
Head of the Fleet100 Reach the rank of Fleet Admiral. can be boosted once you reach the 8milion point requriment, if it does not unlock go in to a game and go netigive 100k shoot your own units then play the game not boosting and it will give it to you

is the above correct? where did you get this info from buddy? there are a few people with lieutenant and admiral achvs (go to true achievements.com) dont know if they boosted the acheevs or got them legit, we need some clarification on this point because the thought of boosting my way through this to not get the points is a no go

Does anyone know if you have to play the missions in a certain order to get Stars and Stripes and Rising Sun? I have beaten all the American missions on veteran, but not in order and I have not gotten Stars and Stripes.

Lightbulb To clear up a few things

1. Setting up matches where one quits out will not help you in your quest for Island Hopper and Victory Rush. However! Surrendering WILL! The other player can surrender immediately after starting the game. It might not show up as a win in the leaderboards but you will get the achievements. I won all Island Capture, Duel and Competitive maps legit while hosting, but the Escort and Siege modes you need are just too hard to find (players for) so I tried the 4 or 5 maps of each mode I still needed to win with a friend using said method and Victory Rush unlocked after he surrendered the last map I needed.

My guess is it will also count to your play x matches as ... and host/win 50 games cheevo's but I can't confirm as I already had those. Just choose Surrender instead of quit as all online players should do when they see defeat looming

2. Tin Can Captain: It has to be done in one match but not necessarily manually or with just one destroyer. I got it in an Island Capture game that ended up being 1v1 and spammed shimikaze's to keep the enemy at bay. I sent streams of them to the enemy's location(s) and then turned on their aggressive stance so they all attack the same target mainly using torpedoes (of which this class of DD launches HUGE salvo's) making sure each ship sunk is done so by the torps. Also, having six or seven doing this at the same time will drop like 80 fish into the water usually crippling/sinking any enemy ships near the one that was targetted. I got it while being on the map screen and not having launched a single torpedo myself.

3. Killing subs with another sub. Seeing that some people use strange tactics to try to get this achievement, they should pay more attention to the ingame hints. Set the target sub as your target using the 'A' button while at periscope depth and the torpedoes fired will travel to the correct depth. Easily set up or achieved in some missions.

4. Veteran Achievements: Can be played out of order, just make sure to keep track of which missions you've done. On the US campaign, on my first playthrough on rookie, I went for Santa Cruz on Veteran cheevo and then went on doing the rest on rookie. When I came back to finish the campaign on veteran I skipped that mission and did the last couple of missions completely out of order finishing the sub and flying missions first and then went back to 10 and finally 14 and it unlocked no problems.

I've done this 3 or 4 times and still my achievement do not unlock. I'm playing on easiest difficult, could this be what's preventing me to get the achievement?

edit: nevermind got it
