You are the man! I have a 5.1 setup as well and totally agree with you. Dead Silence is for a one of the best perks for Search and Destroy as well. And the surround sound makes it really easy when you can not hear yourself all the time

Wow, you're right. I had never really thought about that benefit. Though now that you say it, I do get annoyed when I don't have DS on because all I can hear are my damn footsteps.

Like Dom said, you forgot R700. And for assist its ethier 1 or 2 points depends on how much damage you did to the guy.

Eternal, I like some of the stuff you posted, but disagree with some as well. Mainly, the classes. Personally, I've used the same classes from the beginning, and I still use them in my tenth prestige with great success. I made one class per weapon category and switched the attachments when needed:

Class 1: Assault
Ak-47 with Acog Scope
Bandollier
Stopping Power
Steady Aim
Side arm: M9

^ When enemies are close range, fire from hip. This also helps for medium to long range and with accuracy. IF you dislike the ACOG Scope, use the AK with no attachments, regardless it is extremely well. Shoot in bursts depending on distance. If aiming at a sniper, shoot in small bursts of five rounds.

Class 2: SMG
MP-5 Red Dot Sight
Same perks
Side arm: M9
^Perhaps the best weapon in the game. It is reliable for any situation and extremely accurate. Only problem you might find is when you hold down the trigger, it might be inaccurate. When aiming with the sight, shoot in bursts, and while close range, shoot from the hip.

Class 3: LMG
RPD with Grip
Same perks and hand guns

^ I only recommend this gun on Shipment and when playing small maps in Big Teams. What it lacks in fireing rate, it makes up in accuracy and fire power.

Class 4: Shotgun
Choose the one that fires single rounds(dunno know name).
Perks: Grip
Sleight of Hand( stopping power isn't good since shot gun kills with one hit)
and Steady Aim

^What you have here is an extremely accurate and powerful gun, however not recommended for long distance, or medium distance at all. Only use in Shipment, it is the only safe place for kills. Vacant is another map that it could be used, but only use it inside the building.

Class 5: Sniper
M40
Perks: Bandollier OR Claymores
Stopping Power
Deep Impact OR Iron Lungs
Side arm: Silenced M9

^ The most accurate and powerful sniper in the game. While the Barret is more powerful, it is inaccurate and not reliable.

Now, I use these weapons and I can get up to a minimum of 50 kills per match depending on the game mode. Now, these weapons are the best in the game in my opinion. Just change the perks and attachments depending on game mode. Search and destroy: C4 or Claymores, and Silencer. Hardcore: Silencer, Bandollier, UAV Jammer, and Last Stand.

As you might of noticed, I recommended the M9 for all classes. The M9 is the weakest pistol in the game, but it is the most useful. It has 15 rounds, extremely accurate, and if used properly, you can get a UAV easily.

It might take some time to get used to the weapons and perks, but once you get used to it, you'll be doing extremely well. If you're going for challenges, change the weapon and add either a silencer or Red Dot. Also, tactics play an important role. Don't go rambo every time. Check all corners, and check behind you occasionally. Also, put up the volume on your tv, you can hear your opponent's foot steps most of the time.

Dan's set-ups are very nice but your ones are horrible.

Quote:
'Assault'

Weapon: Any Assault Rifle with Red Dot Sight
Sidearm: Desert Eagle (or the best pistol you have)
Grenades: Frag, Stun
Perk 1: RPG-7 x2
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Martyrdom
RPGs?Why not Bandolier or 3 frags.... Martydom, encourage the grenade spam why don't you.

Quote:
'Spray and Pray'

Weapon: Any LMG with ACOG Scope
Sidearm: Desert Eagle (or the best pistol you have)
Grenades: Frag, Stun
Perk 1: RPG-7 x2
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Martyrdom
With an LMG you might want to use Sleight of Hand, once again, RPGs? Frag x3 is best. Martydom should definitely be replaced with Deep Impact.
Quote:
'Stealth'

Weapon: Any SMG with a silencer
Sidearm: M9 with silencer (note that I do not use a Desert Eagle)
Grenades: Frag, Smoke
Perk 1: Claymores x2
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Last Stand

Mp5 or P90 is best. And it depends on the gametype, I would use UAV Jammer if it's stealth, also Last Stand? Why not Dead Silence. Helps a lot in s and d. Why not m1911 .45 silenced, more powerful.

Quote:
'Sniper'

Weapon: Any Sniper Rifle
Sidearm: Desert Eagle
Grenades: Frag, Stun
Perk 1: Claymores x2
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Iron Lungs
This ones good, but I like to use steady aim for them No-Scopes, I would reccomend Iron Lungs though.

Quote:
'Search and Destroy'

Weapon: MP5 with Suppressor
Sidearm: M9 with Suppressor
Grenades: Frags, Smoke
Perk 1: Frag x3
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Martyrdom
Quote:
Claymores or bomb sqaud if much more effective, martydom? I've never seen anyone get a kill with Martydom on SnD. Stopping power or UAV Jammer. why not m1911 .45 with silencer, more powerful. Definitely Eavesdrop (When the other team is a clan or whatever, helps you know when your near someone), Dead Silence, caught out the sounds of people moving, this stops the movement sounds or Steady Aim.

Once earned, these this air support can be used instantly, or reserved for use later in the game-even after the player that earned them dies. But say you get an Airstrike, and don't use it, die, then get 3 kills, you will lose it, and get the UAV.
Actually, you will keep the airstrike and won't get the UAV.

nice guide it must have taken along time but I agree with most things but I wouldnt say extreme conditioning is useless being how in the beginning of games it allows you to get to a position that you know ememies will be coming through and since orange dots show up on the map you can leave a certain area faster, I also perfer double tap with LMG it makes it more effective in close range

MY custom class:

Search and Destroy-Defense only
Weapon-AK74U-silenced
Perk 1-C4
Perk 2-Stopping Power
Perk 3-eavesdrop

I plant my C4 underneath one bomb site and guard the other if someone plants at the unguarded on then X,X and its 50 points

I actually meant the M1911 .45 with Suppressor. I just couldn't put my finger on the name of it... MP5 for those without the P90, and P90 for those with. I don't know about you, but Last Stand is something I get a lot of kills with.

I have probably gotten at least 100 kills with Martydom in Search and Destroy. I value power over the ability of not being able to be detected by UAV. Although I have to agree on the Eavesdrop, I do not use Dead Silence, as I usually 'camp' in one or two spots in SnD.

Thanks for your advice.

I have to disagree with your setups. ACOG on anything = The loss.

Ninja: (For when opponent has UAV in SnD, or just rushing the enemies)
AK-74u-Silencer
M1911-Silencer
---
Claymores
UAV Jammer
Dead Silence (or Deep Impact)

The AK-74u is the best silenced gun in the game IMO. Paired with SP and DI, it takes about 5 bullets in Close Quarter Combat. UAV Jammer paired with a silencer makes you near invisible and Dead Silence makes you able to jump and run away/toward an enemy with them hearing you.

SAS
Any SMG (I recommend MP5, Skorpion or P90)-Red Dot Sight
Best Pistol
---
Bandolier
Stopping Power
Steady Aim

This is a great Run & Gun Setup. Stopping Power gives you a fair fight and Steady Aim lets you jump right into a gunfight with out having to zoom into your sights. Steady Aim wont work from Medium to Long Distances, but never use ACOG as it sprays your bullets making your gun inaccurate. Red Dot is the way to go on almost any gun.

Just wanted to point out that the link to the overhead maps is a dud kind of..

The thread has no visable pictures and the link within that thread to photobucket has some bad maps... The maps have spawn points and bomb plants incorrectly placed.. So not that helpful.

Anyways great guide with everything, even though I didn't read it all..
The parts I read were alright..
The classes people come up with are always interesting to me, 'cause I use one class type for all my 5 custom slots and just switch the gun+attatchment and I'm on my way.

Really good guide just some things I didn't agree with.

- Extreme conditioning is a very use full perk especially in hard core search when your noob tubing.

- I wouldn't advise using stopping power in hardcore because you want to win a 1 v 1 fight. If you win a 1 v 1 fight it's because you got the first hit seeing as most guns take 1-2 hits to kill in that game type.

- Headquarters is NOT the best game type for points, if you are decent at the game Search and Destroy is definitley the best for experience because of the short duration and high kill points

Other that those disagreements that guide is really useful to new players.

I beg to differ with the whole "extreme conditioning" being useless. I use that paired with claymores and stopping power for my uzi and mp5 and it gets me from point A to point B faster than anyone else, thus leading to more kills and less deaths for me. I beat people to places due to the fact that I can run for a longer amount of time. I think it's an extremely useful perk.
