The Red Ninja X's Gamercard
Finally got Hardcore, but the hardest achievement was probably Aperture Science or Neighborhood Watch. HL2 E2 was full of annoying achievements (Get Some Grub, Little Rocket Man, Neighborhood Watch). So glad I finish Orange Box (until the TF2 update comes).

So far I have to say the zombie chopper one was a pain in the ass for me. I kept dieing and falling off buildings.

I have yet to try the gnome one yet.

The hardest achievement(s) for me have got to be:

1. Aperture Science, as I have given up on it. I guess I suck at Portal or something because I can't even get close (Least steps?, Least Time?). This achievement has got to be up there in the hardest achievements on the X-Box 360 period--right up there with Seriously! on Gears of War.

2. Neighborhood Watch was pretty tough for me. You had to have the timing perfect and be johnny-on-the-spot. It required numerous, otherwise, unnecessary saves to get through.

3. Little Rocket Man when it came to speeding in that car to avoid that freakin' helicopter! It wouldn't have been so tough if that darn garden gnome didn't fall THROUGH the car.

4. Get Some Grub as it took careful planning and got frustrating when it came down to you missing 2 or 3 of those worms somewhere in those tunnels (which most likely came to during the Ant Lion King battle).

The 'Keep Off The Sand' one is easy. Just keep saving every now and then, so you don't have to start all over if you accidently touch the sand.

Definitely the Portal Gold Achievements. For some reason, all mine have reset and I can't do the advanced maps anymore, so looks like I've got to play through it again. :S Very strange and annoying, especially considering I was halfway through the bronze and silver ones.

Haven't had a go at the 'Rocket Man' one yet. I'm dredding that.

Leave the gnome at the house, or somewhere you can easily find it. Hop back in the car and floor it until you hit the tunnel. After the next section loads up, backtrack and pick up the gnome. The chopper will be gone, the gnome where you left it, and you can take your time getting back through the tunnel.

I figured that out after like my third try. I realized it just was not going to work with the gnome, and I had been carrying him around way too long to just abandon it then. So I figured I'd give it a try, what else did I have to lose?

There you go, I just saved someone a little less heartache.

I found this kinda hard. The objects I would place down to walk over would get stuck and then shoot off into the air and i would be left on the sand, and I kept falling off stuff and accidentally walking onto the sand.

I'm going for that one right now, so far I've only shot that lock, so hopefully that's the only bullet I'll need!

These ridiculous collect-a-thons are getting really old in games. If developers are going to continue to have these achievements then what you are searching for should serve a legitimate purpose. I thought the audio diaries in BioShock were respectable because they told the story...but having to find the "elemental fruit" in Kameo...or those STUUUUUUUUUUUPID flags in Assassin's Creed is asking way too much. Okay...enough of that...for now...
I agree completely with Deathblow. Normally I am a treasure-hunting fool and love to collect everything I can find—I even get annoyed when I can't pick up ammunition. But I'm ready to leave Half-Life 2 alone for good because even though I know I've hit every lambda cache, I still only have 44 of 45. I find I don't even want to start the other episodes!

I have a little success with the Portal achievements, but I don't plan to put too much effort into them because I prefer to have a life outside my living room. I'm content to watch the amazing videos on Youtube.

The audio diaries in Bioshock were terrific not only for their story value but for the high-quality voice acting. (My favorites are those from Sander Cohen, especially the "poem" about the bunny's ears, and the one from Suchong about the Vita-Chambers.) I stopped playing Assassin's Creed when I learned the flag collection conferred nothing upon completion except the achievement. A good reward might have been to have a completely open map on a new-game-plus. Rewarding players for making achievements is something Mass Effect did exactly right.

It's a tie between Lambda Locator and Get Some Grub. Collectables suck! It's basically a test of whether you have the patience to go through every one with a guide. The gnome achievement was pretty annoying also. It would have been fun, but the fact that it won't stay in the car completely ruined it imo. I didn't mind the Aperature Science achievement, however. I don't mind challenging achievements that take skill. I just hate pointless, boring, and time consuming ones.

has to be Aperture Science for me. as others have mentioned, the combination of mental and digital dexterity required for some of the challenges is insane. and maybe impossible for some. i only have 13/18 gold medals so far.

as tough as Neighborhood Watch was, it's just a matter of repetition, patience and saving in the end. hard, but not in the same league for me.

Tough to say even though I don't have all of them yet. I would have to pick Aperture Science because all of the others seem attainable yet after many fruitless hours on Portal I have still come up short.

1. NeighboUrhood watch - insane (let's try it with invincibility )
2. Aperture Science/Rocket Science/Basic Science - you really need to be thinking with portals for these.
3. Zombi-que - I had to meticulously go through incinerating every zombie

The Gnome, one bullet and sand were easy, quit your bitchin'!

1- Aperture Science: You have to repeat the same levels a gazilion times.
2- Lambda Locator: Got 30 on my first run, I don't feel like going through the whole HL2 game just to get the other 15.
3- Hardcore: I'm not a big multiplayer gamer when it comes to online, and although I enjoy playing H3 once in awhile (when I get a free code from someone ), where I already surpassed 1k kills, I don't really like TF2. Ok, it was cool for the first couple of hours, but after that it becomes repetitive.
And since I don't have a gold account, online achievements like these are a pain in the ass.

Aperture Science - Holy hell, all 18 gold medals? Of the 6 Orange Box achievements I have left, 3 of them are the medals from Portal. I've been working on this for awhile, and some of the levels just seem rediculous to get gold on.

Neighborhood Watch - 1 of 3 achievements left I have from the Half Life games. Even on Easy, this is damn hard. I've tried it way too many times, but I just can't do it.

Many of the achievements that are viewed as "annoying" just take a long time (ex. Get Some Grub, Rocket Man, Lambda Locator), but aren't actually that difficult.

Talking my experience

1) i found keep of the sand easy. just use the large metal sheets, i did it all in one save
2) i loved aperture science. i must just be good at the game. i managed to take only 10 steps in the last chamber when u can take 100 or something with 2 steps getting out the chamber and 5 steps getting in the chamber at the end. ( if u think i lie i don't care)
3) one free bullet was easy but as others have said it made the game long and boring
4) i am currently doing little rocket man. again its easy but long and boring as you constantly drop the gnome to kill enemies etc. whats the point in achievements like that.

Neighborhood Watch- This is the only achievement that I'm not close to, just because of the timing involved.

wtf? Neighbourhood watch, one free bullet and little rocket man i thought were easy. I can't remember being that annoyed with them and actually found them fun. I wouldn't exactly call them easy, but I certainly didn't find them all that hard. They were definitely fun though. Neighbourhood Watch in particular, I just saved a lot and just kept trying to find out with ones don't attack the buildings and which ones do.

The only achievement I'm missing is 'With Friends Like These', so I'd say it's the most annoying.

Well i found little rocket man hilarious, but it was pretty easy if you know all the spots to drop him off at and pick up later. Neighbour hood watch i seem to remember not giving me any grief, but perhaps i have more patience than some of you. . Oh and i just got friends like these so i need 'Lambda locator' and i'm done! It has taken me about a year and a half to complete this game.....
