Achievment Guide

SOMEONE LOCK THIS.

Put simply, i'm going to write an achievement guide on Duke Nukem 3D. Chances are, your here because you need help with an achievement. This is my first achievement guide, go easy on me pl0x xD. Also, this will contain Spoilers.

First off, if your going for the achievement, then do it on Piece of Cake difficulty. There's no achievement for doing it on a higher difficulty, so don't worry.

Piece of Cake25 Complete "L.A. Meltdown" on any difficulty or in co-op.

For this achievement, you need to beat all of Episode 1 from the begininng. This episode revolvs around the streets, into an enemy facility, then into a canyon to fight a boss. So you must beat these levels:

Chapter: L.A Meltdown
Levels:
Hollywood Holocaust
Red Light District
Death Row
Toxic Dump
The Abyss

At the end of this episode of is the Battlelord, the first boss. It's best if you have the Jetpack and the Rocket Launcher with 40 rockets. If you don't have these things, theres a corner'with 3 babes on it, shoot them to reveal some prizes. The Battlelord has a rocket launcher that's really painful. Plus he can throw proximity mines, which is why i advise you to stay in the air. Don't get close, he has an instant kill attack. The best strategy is to go up high on your Jetpack and fly around in circles, shooting him with a Rocket Launcher. That's infact the easiest way to beat most bosses.

Let's Rock25 Complete "Lunar Apocalypse" on any difficulty or in co-op.

A new enemy is introduced, The Enforcer, which is a lizard like creature with a chaingun on it's arm. It's a medium strength creature, like the PigCop. You also fight slime creatures that die in one shot. These levels are fought in space. You must defeat Episode 2 from the beginning, so these levels:

Chapter: Lunar Apocalypse
Space Port
Incubator
Warp Factor
Fusion Station
Occupied Territory
Tiberius Station
Lunar Reactor
Dark Side
Overlord

The Overlord is fought underground, and you should use the same tactics you used against the Battlelord.

Come Get Some25 Complete "Shrapnel City" on any difficulty or in co-op.

Some more new enimies are introduced here, namely the Commander's. You saw these a bit in Ep2 but there are lots here. They hover around and shoot missle, but 2 RPG shots will take em' down.
This episode is set in the runied city which Duke started in, and takes place all across it. You must complete these episode:

Chapter: Shrapnel City
Raw Meat
Bank Roll
Flood Zone
L.A Rumble
Movie Set
Rabid Transit
Farenheit
Hotel Hell
Stadium

Stadium leads straight to a boss fight with the Emperor. There are alot of supplies around the arena. Again, i reccommend the jetpack+RPG combo to take him down. Make sure your high up and also, he never stops shooting rockets, so circle around him and keep firing until he dies. If you run out of ammo, there are supplies everywhere. Be careful, because enimies spawn in this battle as well.

Game Over25 Complete "The Birth" on any difficulty or in co-op.
Another new enemy is introduced, scum sucking alien turd bastards. These things are TOUGH. They have the power to shrink you, jump across the map and eat your face. Your best bet is the Devastator or the shotgun, each are good options. There are also some tanks, but rarely appear. This Ep is set in the same city as before and eventually leads to the Alien hideout. You must complete these levels:

Chapter: The Birth
It's Impossible
Duke-Burger
Shop-N-Bag
Babe Land
Pigsty
Going Postal
XXX-Stacy
Critical Mass
Derelict
The Queen

The Alien boss is strong. She takes a crapload of shots, and is fought underwater. No need for a Jetpack. She dosen't really attack you, but summons those aliens i talked about earlier. She can also electrocute the water to damage you. I hope you have LOTS of RPG rounds and Devestator rounds. But the same strategy applies, circle, shoot until dead.

Duke's Mighty Foot10 Step on 40 enemies after using the Shrinker on them.
As soon as you get the shrink ray, use it on as many enimies as possible. It shrinks them, then walk up to them to automatically crush them. Shrink Ray Ammo is usually found in secret areas.

Oomph, Uugh, Where is it?10 Find 70 secret areas.
Please go here: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/f...ad.php?t=88102 for a list of secret areas. Thanks Nevander!!

Looks Like Cleanup on Aisle 410 Step in a pile of excrement.
Excrement is located all over the game, usually in Alien Hideouts. People have random experiences with this but you will eventually get it without trying.

Shake It Baby10 Tip an exotic dancer.
If you want this quick, head to Ep 4 and go to XXX-Stacy. Go in the garage door, go straight across into an office, go behind the cutain and there are 2 strippers on a bed. Press X on them and voila, achievment.

Alien Maggots are Gonna Pay10 Finish the "Hollywood Holocaust" level in under 3 minutes.
Don't bother with any secrets:

  1. Run straight, shoot fan, head straight, around corner, into door.
  2. Run through movie theater, down the aisle, first door on your right.
  3. Head upstairs, jump on projector, grab RPG, grab red key card (if you want), press switch next to window to play movie, then jump out of window.
  4. Go up to move screen, shoot crack, grab jetpack, jump out of other window, fly up and to the exit. Should take 50 seconds if done right.

Gonna Rip Em' a New One10 Get 100 total kills in ranked Dukematch games (Online).
See You in Hell15 Get 250 total kills in ranked Dukematch games (Online).
Hail to the King, Baby25 Earn respect and get 500 total kills in ranked Dukematch games (Online).

Theres no real strategy for this. Just go online, rack up lots of kills. Use shrink ray and RPG alot, they seem to be the most useful. There's lots of games, just play and join.

If you have any help or tips, just post or pm me. Thanks!!

Did you not see mine or did you think mine needed improving or something? If so then do what you must but I think mine pretty much covers it. Looks pretty good for your first, organize it a little bit more and you'll be an even better guide writer.

Here is mine: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/f...ad.php?t=88100

Nevander's is better all around. The only thing he could add from yours is that you don't need the secret levels for the completing episode achievements, and that could be said a lot easier with "You don't need the secret levels" rather than listing every level you do need.

Your guides for "Shake It Baby" and "Looks Like Cleanup On Isle 4" are especially bad. Why should I go through 7 stages of Episode 4 to find a stripper when I can go through a mere 2 stages of the much easier Episode 1? And "eventually you will get it without trying" doesn't tell you how to get it at all. Yeah, sometimes you might find some random shit on the ground and get the achievement without even realizing that the shit was there (I did it that way), but you still need a list of places where shit will always be there for people to step in, because there are always the people that won't randomly find some.

I just keep my distance from the battlelord and start firing at him with the rpg like crazy and I take him out easily pretty much every time. Just make sure you don't get to close to him. Pick up those atomic healths at the back if you need to and have a medkit with you as well. For the last 3 bosses, you can take them down within seconds by using the devastator weapon.

Oh and you can't select the 7th level of episode 4 until you unlock it, so you're better off doing it on episode 1 level 2.

Well, first of all, you can't. You can only play the first stage of every episode. You can't skip to stage 4 or 7 or 9 or whatever else until you actually get that far in the game.

But let's assume you could for a moment. Considering that you only start with the pistol, it's still a hell of a lot easier to kill the basic enemies in E1M2 than it is to kill all the stronger enemies in E4M7, which means that going to E1M2 is still the easiest way to get the achievement.

Well we both have our own experiences and honestly that's my personal one. I COULD select the levels from the start, as soon as i downloaded the game. I fact it's the first time i ever played the game, and i started on E3:M4. But i sucked so i started the game normally. Also, there are 2 troopers and 2 pig cops that you can run past, so they aren't stronger in the slightest.

There's no point in changing it anyway, i'm getting this locked.

Are we even playing the same version of Duke Nukem 3D? There's a hell of a lot more than that in XXX-Stacy.

Hey, you should fix your formating in the guide.
For example it currently says
Oomph, Uugh, Where is it?10 Find 70 secret areas.
Please go here: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/f...ad.php?t=88102 for a list of secret areas. Thanks Nevander!!

Fix it To
Oomph, Uugh, Where is it? (add space here)10
Find 70 secret areas.
Please go here: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/f...ad.php?t=88102 for a list of secret areas. Thanks Nevander!!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/f...ad.php?t=61662
that will also help you with writing a guide.

It's rather pointless though. Nevander already wrote and submitted a better guide. He'd be better off writing a guide for a different game.

I know, those are at the beginning before the strippers. You said only at the beginning, those are only at the beginning.

I don't think i'll write any future guides, because i get games later then other people.

And Nevander did write a better guide and i'm going to admit that. This is my first one and i only wrote it cause his wasn't on the front page at the time.
