Pond Cat's Gamercard
I finally cleared all the story scenarios and now im working on the clearing (and unlocking!) the reaming dream events. However is there a simple way to find the combined level total of all my characters?
And how do I calculate my proficiency total....I still don't know

Nice acheivement guide. Just finished on story missions and tomorrow I'm going to work on Dream Mode.

Just a side note - do you really have to get over 3500 prof to unlock a few dream mode scenarios? It would take you like a year, maybe more. And don't even get me started on completing every story/dream mode scenario on every difficulty! I do not even want to know how long THAT would take...

Getting the proficiency levels up takes a lot longer than finishing all the stages on all difficulties. Quite a few of the stages you can just rush and kill the enemy commander so it's not that long. All I have left is proficiency and all stages on Chaos and the Chaos one will be done a lot sooner than proficiency. Unfortunately Fable 2 and Fallout 3 came out so I am taking a break from working on this one.

Yea the stages on all difficulties will be easy compared to the proficiency. Every now and then I just play stages on difficulties I havent done with characters with lower proficiency, to beat them and to get proficiency.

But most of the time, I do Wu stage 4 for prof.

Good work on getting 1k Tricka!

sadly i'm glad they made it as time consuming as it is to get. Makes really an achivement.

Assuming you haven't touched any other characters, then you would need 36 characters to level 99 and 1 character to about level 13 for Dream Stage 26.

With the same assumption, it would take 54 characters to max proficiency and 1 character to about 6 proficiency for Dream Stage 27.

So to sum up...37 characters to level 99 and 55 characters with maximum proficiency.

Just did the math for it. =)

1 and 2 - Have the three team characters for each stage at level 50 proficiency (includes Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Sun Quan, Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, Ieyasu)

this confuses me not sure if it does with anyone else but could someone dum it down for me.

and also if people dont know an enemy officer equals to 100 soldiers for the prof. so forget waiting around killing loads of men just storm for the officers

Get Cao Cao, Lui Bei and Sun Quan to 50 prof for dream mission 1, and Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu to 50 prof for dream mission 2.

You're not actually required to play the characters to level them up. You can just use the experience points you earn with another character while grinding proficiency to level the ones you don't wanna play from 1-99...won't help with proficiency totals, but it makes them easier to play when you have to.

Gaining levels is really easy. First, max out Acclaim by unlocking abilities. This gives you more experience points in the field, as well as more character development points. Even on a simple level like Samurai 1 (which I used for unlocking abilities & farming weapons) it's possible for a character to gain 15-20 levels, and another 25k in development points which you can use to buy additional levels. All in under 5 minutes, depending on how much running around you want to do.

Gaining Proficiency, on the other hand is the real grind since it's based solely on your character's kills. I believe someone else posted that peon kills are worth 1 point each, a general is worth 100 points, and you need 500 points to earn each level of Proficiency, so that's somewhere between 25000 peons and 250 generals if you need to max out that character's Proficiency.

Question Question about all stages/all difficulties

For the achievement for all story and dream stages at all difficulties, can you do Free Play to play the story levels, or must you use the actual Story Mode to do this? I was planning on just creating on "god" character and do all the levels in Free Play but I want to make sure I'm getting the proper credits for completing the levels.

I've just started my proficiency grind...got about 8 characters fully maxed out so far. Sigh. So very far to go.

Free play is fine. Check my big ass post in the proficiency thread for the best way to hit the proficiency grind.

So this guide still hasn't gone up yet on the main page, who do we see about getting it put up?

If you have the patience and fortitude to max out DW6 then WO2 shouldn't be a problem >.>. It's waaaay worse grinding in DW6 in my opinion. At least you have more variety of weapons and chars. to pick from in WO2.

I found DW6 much easier than this game. DW6 took me probably 1/4th the time Orochi did to get a 1000.

My first achievement for DW6 came on 8/4/2008, and i got my 1000 on it on 9/26/2008. Now Orochi on the other hand, because it was such a grind, I got my first achievement on 9/24/2008 and my 1000 on 6/18/2010.
