Introduction:
The second Alice game developed by Spicy Horse and published by EA, welcomes you back to Wonderland where things have changed. There are 50 achievements with a total of 1000. Alice: Madness Returns can be completed in only one play if you can endure it. There are plenty of collectables to provide insight to the story between American McGee's Alice and Alice: Madness Returns. The Cheshire Cat will always be around to tease you, but will he get the best of you when worlds collide?
Breakdown:
Alice: Madness Returns is a fairly straight forward game, but requires you to go out of your way to find all of the collectibles. It is suggested you play through the game twice. Once on any difficulty other than Nightmare, and then the second on Nightmare. If you feel up to it, just do the one play.
Playthrough 1:
Depending what difficulty you play on you can earn all but 6 achievements out of 50. Also, there will be an achievement to use the Hysteria Ability (gained in Chapter 1) up to one time during the entire game! This is the play through you should find all the collectables on, to carry over your data into Nightmare. Follow the collectable guide for more information and a walkthrough of each chapter.
Playthrough 2:
If you didn't do your first play on Nightmare, you need to go to the main menu and change the difficulty to nightmare and play through the game again. It shouldn't be hard since you have leveled up your weapons and collected extra roses.
Clean Up:
Any achievements you have not earned yet, simply reload chapters or checkpoints to complete them, finish up and move onto the original Alice game.
American McGee's Alice:
If you have the access to this game, you need to play through this game now to earn the remaining six achievements. This DLC is required if you want to obtain all achievements.
Conclusion:
Alice: Madness Returns and the American McGee's Alice DLC are quite fun and captivating. The collectibles may be annoying to grab, but they are unfortunately required. If you enjoy the dark and twisted side of the old Disney cartoon Alice in Wonderland, you will enjoy playing Alice: Madness Returns. Congratulations on completing another game!
