Introduction:
Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.”

It is a period of rejuvenation and enlightenment in Italy in the late 15th Century. It is the Renaissance. It is also a time of widespread deceit and corruption amongst the families in power. Betrayed by those once trusted, a young man takes his firsts steps in a lifelong quest for vengeance and redemption. To extinguish the corruption of Italy and recover the honor and memory of his family, he will claim his birthright and ultimately his destiny; to become an Assassin.

Assassin’s Creed II continues the story of the Assassins and their ongoing conflict with the Templars. Whereas in the first game you were an assassin in the late 12th Century, this one skips forward 300 years to Renaissance Italy. Reliving the memories of Desmond Miles, you play as his ancestor, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, as you learn the ways of an assassin to avenge your family’s honor.

None of the achievements are difficult or require any real skill to unlock. Play through the game, following the icon to begin each of the story’s 70+ memories. It sounds like a lot but keep in mind that some only last a couple of minutes. Once you’ve completed the story, you are able to free roam to every city to pick up any miscellaneous achievements you may not have unlocked in your playthrough. Chances are you will unlock a number of them during the story anyway (see below).

Note: The videos contained in this guide may contain spoilers. Watch at your own risk.

Step 1: Story Mode/DNA Sequences
There are 12 DNA Sequences with varying numbers of missions, or memories, in each. Just follow the icon on the map to find the next memory. There is neither a difficulty setting nor are the story related achievements difficult to unlock. Just sit back, play through the story and enjoy.

In addition to unlocking all of the 12 DNA Sequence achievements during your playthrough, you will also unlock “The Birth of an Assassin”, “Arrivederci Abstergo”, “Welcome to the Animus 2.0”, “Undertaker”, “Bleeding Effect”, “An Old Friend Returns” and “I Like the View”.

The story sequences are not replayable, thus there is one missable story achievement called “Fly Swatter”. This is only available to unlock at the beginning of the final memory in DNA Sequence 8 called ‘Infrequent Flier’. If you miss this opportunity, you have to play the entire story again, unless you purchased the DNA Sequence 12 DLC, ‘The Battle of Forli’. Upon completing that sequence, the flying machine is available at any time in the city of Forli.

Step 2: Side Missions
Along with the main story memories, there are a number of side missions, or events, that you can complete to raise your synchronization percentage, earn florins and unlock achievements. If you miss or decide not to do any of these during the story, you can free roam afterwards to pick up anything you’ve missed.

  • Beat Up Events – There are five Beat Up events throughout the game. Only completing one is required for the achievement “Macho Man”. Each awards between 200 and 3,500 florins.
  • Races– There are six Race events throughout the game. Only completing one is required for the achievement “Steal Home”. Each awards between 1,000 and 3,500 florins.
  • Assassinations – There are 30 Assassination events throughout the game. Only completing one is required for the achievement “Assassin for Hire”. Each awards varying amounts of florins.
  • Courier Missions – There are six Courier missions throughout the game. There is no achievement for completing any. The only reward is florins.

Step 3: Miscellaneous
Aside from the story, collectible and side mission achievements, there are 16 achievements to unlock either during the story or afterwards in free roam.

Five achievements are related to combat. They are “Street Cleaner”, “Messer Sandman”, “Doctor”, “No-hitter” and “Sweeper”. Some of these might take a couple of tries to get as they’re all about timing your actions right.

Seven more unlock when you do random tasks, such as sprinting 100 meters, pickpocketing, tinting your clothes as so on. They are “Kleptomaniac”, “Lightning Strike”, “High Dive”, “Mailman”, “Perfect Harmony”, “Red Light Addict” and “Man of the People”. Some are cumulative and some require only one task, but they are all very easy to unlock and you will likely do so during your playthrough.

Finally, there are four achievements directly related to the upgrading of Monteriggioni. They are “Handy Man”, “Podesta of Monteriggioni”, “Art Connoisseur” and “Victory Lies in Preparation”. As your villa earns money, spend it on upgrading the buildings in your stronghold, art, weapons and armor. By the games’ end, you should have purchased just about everything available.

Step 4: Collectibles
There are a number of collectibles that you can obtain to further unlock achievements. If you miss or decide not to do any of these during the story, you can free roam afterwards to pick up anything you’ve missed.

  • Feathers – There are 100 feathers scattered in the five cities for you to locate, usually in hard to reach areas. Collecting them all will unlock “In Memory of Petruccio”. Once you have all 100, travel to each city and the mountain region to unlock “Show Your Colors”.
  • Glyphs – Glyphs are markings that are hidden on various landmarks throughout the five cities. Use your Eagle Vision to initiate a scan, unlocking “Tip of the Iceberg”. Then, complete one puzzle for “A Piece of the Puzzle” and all 20 for “Vitruvian Man”.
  • StatuettesHidden around Monteriggioni are 8 statuettes of the Roman Gods. Obtain all 8 to unlock “Myth Maker”.
  • Seals – Hidden in the sarcophagi in the six Assassin’s Tombs are seals needed to unlock Altair’s armor in the Sanctuary. Complete each tomb to unlock “Undertaker” [story related], “Choir Boy”, “Prison Escape”, “Hallowed Be Thy Name”, “I Can See Your House from Here!” and “Venetian Gladiator”.
  • Codex Pages – While there is no achievement related to collecting the 30 Codex pages in the game, it is required to collect them all to complete the story. As you obtain them, return to Leonardo for him to decode.
  • Treasure Chests – Collect these if you are in real need of money. You can purchase maps from the Art Merchant in each city. As you open more districts, more maps become available. There is no achievement related to the chests.

Step 5: DLC
There are two available DLC’s, ‘The Battle of Forli’ and ‘Bonfire of the Vanities’. However, there are no achievements for either. If you purchase and download them before completing DNA Sequence 11, then these two are incorporated into the story and you must complete them in order. Each takes about an hour to complete.

Conclusion:
There are no multiplayer achievements or real tedious tasks to do in this game, so your 1000 should come with relative ease. This is a very enjoyable game with an engaging story, a mix up of collectible and random achievements, but nothing too difficult making this 100% a breeze.

This tomb is located along the eastern wall of Santa Maria Novella in the southwest part of Florence. You can access it in two ways; 1) directly kill the guards standing at the entry gate or 2) jump from an adjacent rooftop into the courtyard. You can also draw them away using Courtesans. The skull “lever” is in an alcove along the short wall.

The goal of this memory is to infiltrate the catacombs underneath the church to spy on the Templars’ meeting. It starts off with a jumping sequence to reach a ledge to pull a lever to progress further into the tomb. Next, you must find a way to open a door and kill the patrolling guards. After chasing the final guard, climb up and activate the skull lever. A wall will move prompting a cutscene of the meeting. Eavesdrop on it and listen to what they are planning. When you have completed that, exit the workshop and walk downstairs to meet up with Lucy. After your conversation, you will need to test your abilities by arming four security alarms in the warehouse. This is not complicated at all. When that is done, as you are walking back to the workshop, you experience a flashback and you appear as Altair in Acre, a city from the first game. In this sequence, you are required to chase someone around the city to the top of a high corner tower (the guards will not interfere with you at all). When you reach the top of the tower, a cutscene will play and you will wake up back in present day. • Play Along

Note: In order to advance to DNA Sequence 14, you have had to collect all 30 Codex pages scattered throughout the four cities (there are none in Monteriggioni). If you haven’t obtained them all, Mario will send you back out to collect them. Once you complete that task, they must be deciphered by Leonardo before they can be placed on the Codex Wall.

  • Complete DNA Sequence 14.

The name of this sequence is “Veni, Vidi, Vici”. This is story related and cannot be missed. Just complete each of the following memories highlighted by the icon on the map.

    • X Marks the Spot
    • In Bocca Al Lupo
  • Escape the hideout.

This is story related and cannot be missed. After the conclusion of DNA Sequence 14 and the final Ezio cutscene, the credits will begin to roll. Desmond awakens to everyone scurrying about. Abstergo has found you and you have to escape. When you have control, follow Lucy into the warehouse where you will have an encounter with Vidic. After a short conversation, Vidic’s men will attack you. You have unlimited health so don’t worry about dying. Dispatch with these men and continue on and you will encounter more men. After you take care of these as you did the other group, you will see Vidic on the back of a panel truck. Run towards it to initiate a cutscene. When it is over, the screen goes black except for the credits. The conversation will continue for a moment or two then fade away, leaving you with just the credits to watch. Do what you want for four more minutes and when the credits finally finish (there’s no way to skip them), the achievement will unlock.

  • Find the 8 statuettes in Monteriggioni.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 3.While you are in Monteriggioni during DNA Sequence 3 or at the start of DNA Sequence 4 before returning to Florence, this will be your first opportunity to collect 8 Roman God statuettes hidden throughout the town.

These do not show up on your map but are not difficult to find as they glow white like other treasures. Using your Eagle Vision (hold ) will make them even easier to see. The achievement will unlock when you pick up the last statuette. Refer to the video below if you are having any trouble locating these.

Note: Although it isn’t a requirement of the achievement, there are four pedestals along the sides and back of the villa where you can place the statuettes in pairs. Once you have gathered all 8 statuettes, place them upon the pedestals. They will then open up to reveal 2,000ƒ each.

Thanks to 360walkthrus for the video:

  • Unlock all 20 pieces of Subject 16's video.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 10. To continue with “A Piece of the Puzzle”, you have to locate a total of 20 glyphs dispersed among the five cities. As you explore each city, you will eventually pass landmarks that will be added to your database. Some will have a icon, telling you that these buildings have a glyph on them somewhere. Locate the glyph, scan it with your Eagle Vision (hold ) and decode the puzzle presented. Do this for all 20 glyphs and the achievement will unlock.

Number of glyphs in each city:
    - Florence - 5
    - Monteriggioni - 1
    - Tuscany/San Gimignano - 5
    - Romagna/Forli - 2
    - Venice - 7

Note: You can locate the glyphs in any order you want but the puzzles will always be in the same order as in the video below (or in any video you choose to watch).

Thanks to Zevik for the video:

  • Hide 5 dead bodies in a Bale of Hay.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 1. There are bales of hay spread out generously around each city. The easiest way to get this achievement is to provoke some guards and lure them close towards one of these bales. Kill them and press to pick them up. Walk over to the bale and press again to drop them in the hay. Do this five times total in the same haystack to unlock this achievement.

You can do this with ordinary people as well but assassins don’t kill innocents…

  • Kick a Guard while using the Flying Machine.

*MISSABLE* This can only be obtained during the last memory of DNA Sequence 8 called ‘Infrequent Flier’. At the beginning of the mission, when you first take off, you will come across four guards on a rooftop shooting arrows at you. Steer slightly left to maneuver towards the archers and press to lock onto one of them. Fly low enough and you will kick him automatically, unlocking the achievement. There are many opportunities to do this but the first set of archers is the easiest.

If you happen to miss, you can either crash the flying machine into a building (to restart the checkpoint) or press and ‘Abort Memory’. Doing this will allow you to play the memory from the beginning, but you have to watch the cutscene again. Just make sure you don’t finish the flying machine sequence without getting this achievement or you will have to play the entire game over again.

Note: If you purchased the DNA Sequence 12 DLC, ‘The Battle of Forli’, the flying machine is once again available to you once the sequence is complete and is always located in the northeast corner of Forli as a “Special Memory” that you can access at any time.

During DNA Sequence 8 (Thanks to PTNVideos for the video):

After DNA Sequence 12 (Thanks to ElectronicElation for the video):

  • Stun 4 guards at once by throwing sand in their face.

At the beginning of DNA Sequence 4, you are once again in Monteriggioni. After talking to the architect about beginning to renovate the city (unlocking “Handy Man”), go outside to the fighting circle and speak with the trainer. Here you will want to learn the Unarmed Combat ability. Select Special Moves > Unarmed Combat. Here, you will learn how to throw sand in an enemies’ face.

Once it has been learned, go to either Florence or Tuscany and provoke a fight with more than four guards. Run from them to get some distance if needed, and when you are ready, with your fists equipped (), hold to pick up some sand. When the guards come running towards you, release the button to throw the sand. Make sure you get at least four guards. If not, keep trying.

  • Doctor

    20

Perform an Air Assassination on a Poisoned NPC.

You gain the poison ability in DNA Sequence 5 during the memory ‘A Blade with Bite’. Once this mission is complete, select the poison by holding and moving the to the top left of the weapon wheel to arm yourself with it. Find a person or a guard, it doesn’t matter which, standing near a climbable box or wall. Walk up to them and press to release the poison. They will begin to stagger around. Climb up the surface and when the icon appears to assassinate them, press to jump down on them to kill them.

Thanks to BonEditor for the video:

  • Kill 10 enemies while remaining in conflict without being hit.

To unlock this achievement you must first provoke a group of guards into chasing you. This is easiest in the San Marco district of Venice as there are a lot of guards there right around the restricted area. Before you do, if you have them (I suggest not attempting this achievement until you do have them), arm your smoke bombs by holding to open the weapon wheel and moving the to the bottom left to select them. Keep running until more guards enter the chase. When you have 10 or more following you, as they gather around you, quickly throw the smoke bomb down with then select your hidden blades () and begin assassinating them. Once the smoke bomb starts to wears off, select the smoke bombs again and throw another one, and repeat the process. Keep going until you eventually kill 10 guards for the achievement.

You obtain the smoke bomb pouch during the memory ‘The Cowl Does Not Make the Monk’ in DNA Sequence 5. You can acquire smoke bombs, up to three, from a Blacksmith for 350ƒ each after that.

Thanks to XCVii007r1 for the video:

  • Pickpocket 1000 Florins.

Although you can pickpocket from the start of the game, you don’t learn this ability until the memory ‘Fitting In’ during DNA Sequence 2. To pickpocket someone, while walking around, hold to Fast Walk and just bump into people. You will get anywhere from 1 to 25ƒ. Make sure you only pickpocket 5 or 6 people then you need to either blend in or escape since someone you just pickpocketed might find you and provoke a fight, possibly alerting the guards.

Just keep doing this over the course of your playthrough and you should have it in no time.

  • Sprint for 100 meters.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 1. For this achievement, you have to run continuously for 100 meters; it is not cumulative. All you have to do is hold down and to sprint without stopping or running into someone. This is easier to do around The Duomo in Central Florence where the streets are wider. Just run until the achievement unlocks. This takes about 15 seconds.

  • Sweep 5 guards at once by using a Long Weapon.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 6. The Sweep attack is learned from the fighting trainer in front of the villa in Monteriggioni. Speak with him and navigate to Special Moves > Long Weapon. The cost of this training is 10,000f.

When the training is over and you have learned the move, while traveling in any city, locate a brute guard with a spear (Venice is the best as there is a guard with a spear walking near the fast travel station in the San Marco district). To get his attention, select fists () and punch him then start running for the restricted area. In the confrontation, hold and press at the correct time to disarm the guard. Keep backing up so other guards enter the confrontation (if you run, you will drop the spear. Press to pick it up again). When there are more than five guards surrounding you within arm’s length, hold and release to perform the sweeping attack. If five or more guards fall, the achievement will unlock. This may take a couple of tries to get.

  • Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside Santa Maria della Visitazione.

Assassin’s Tombs are available to you once you complete the memory ‘Novella’s Secret’ in DNA Sequence 4 (refer to “Undertaker” for more information). To locate a tomb, search the map for a icon. If you have not synchronized the view point in that area yet, it will not be revealed to you. You must also have completed through a certain DNA Sequence for them to appear.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 9. This memory is called ‘Visitazione's Secret’ and is located at the Santa Maria Della Vistazione church in Venice. You must first climb the church and make your way to the back corner near the tower. The skull “lever” will be at the base of the tower.

When you begin, you need to perform a leap of faith into a bale of hay. This will alert two guards sitting playing a card game. Assassinate the first guard and the second will run away. Chase him down and assassinate him before he alerts more guards. If he does, there are four more guards to take out. If not, just run forward and open the door. Opening the door will reveal a timed switch. When you pull it, the camera will pan to show you your path. Along the way there are four more switches that unlock a section of a door leading to your destination. This section might take a few tries as you may run out of time and there are some annoying jumps to perform as you progress.

When you finally reach the end and all four locks are open, the door will open for you to access the burial chamber. Walk in and open the sarcophagus to retrieve the seal. When you exit the church, the achievement will unlock.

  • Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside the Torre Grossa.

Assassin’s Tombs are available to you once you complete the memory ‘Novella’s Secret’ in DNA Sequence 4 (refer to “Undertaker” for more information). To locate a tomb, search the map for a icon. If you have not synchronized the view points in that area yet, it will not be revealed to you. You must also have completed through a certain DNA Sequence for them to appear.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 4. This memory is called ‘Torre Grossa’s Secret’ and is located at the bottom of the Torre Grossa tower in the central part of San Gimignano. Walk down an alleyway and search for the skull “lever” along the wall at ground level.

You begin in the wine cellar of the Palazzo Comunale, the building adjacent to the tower. Make your way through to the exit, taking out guards along the way. You will emerge in the library hall. Find a way to climb to the top level and exit through a door that takes you into the interior of the great tower. Use your jumping skills to ascend, and once you reach the top, the sarcophagus will be waiting. Open it and retrieve the seal. When you exit the tower, the achievement will unlock.

  • Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside the Basilica di San Marco.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 8. This memory is called ‘San Marco's Secret’ and is located in the restricted area in the San Marco district of Venice. You must first climb the Basilica di San Marco to reach the tomb entrance. It is easiest to use the same ascent that you made in the second memory in DNA Sequence 8 called ‘If at First You Don’t Succeed’. Run along the roof and climb down a ladder and the skull “lever” is against the wall.

For this tomb, your goal is to activate four switches in the four sections of the church before time runs out. When you begin, walk towards the sarcophagus on the ground floor and activate the switch. This will reveal four floor places in the center of the church. Stepping on each will start a timed jumping puzzle. They are not that difficult and the camera shows you the path you need to take. If you think you’ll run out of time, stepping on the floor plate again resets the timer.

Once you’ve activated the four switches, the center of the floor will open up revealing steps. Follow the steps to uncover the tomb. Open the sarcophagus and retrieve the seal. When you exit the church, the achievement will unlock.

  • Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside the Rocca di Ravaldino fortress.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 6. This memory is called ‘Ravaldino’s Secret’ and is located in the Rocca di Ravaldino fortress in southwest part of Forli. You can either climb one of the fortress towers and jump down or dive into the water and swim around the stronghold. There is a wooden platform around the back. Climb onto the platform and interact with the skull “lever” on the wall.

Throughout the fortress are timed switches you must activate that open gates that you must jump through before they close again. It is not at all difficult but you need to be quick to make it through. If not, backtrack and activate the switch again. Along the way, guards will be patrolling to impede your progress. Take them out by any means necessary. Follow through the fortress until you locate the burial chamber containing the sarcophagus. Open it and retrieve the seal. When you exit the fortress, the achievement will unlock.

  • Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside Santa Maria del Fiore (The Duomo).

This memory is called ‘Il Duomo’s Secret’ and is located along the north edge of The Duomo in Florence. Search for the skull “lever” along the wall at ground level behind a tree.

This tomb requires you to retrieve the seal from the sarcophagus located high up in the dome of The Duomo. This tomb is not timed nor are there any levers to pull to open other parts of the church. This is a straight open area jumping puzzle. You begin on the ground floor and the camera pans over to your start point. As you progress, ladders will fall so you don’t have to start again from the beginning, plus the game will register checkpoints in case you become desynchronized (if you die). Also, pigeons are discreetly placed along the path to assist you in finding your way. After making your way to the top of the dome, open the sarcophagus and retrieve the seal. When you exit the church, the achievement will unlock.

  • Complete your first assassination mission for Lorenzo Il Magnifico.

Assassinations are available as early as DNA Sequence 5. You can locate them on your map by pinpointing a icon. There are 30 Assassination events available to you throughout the game. Completing just one will unlock this achievement.

The first available assassination mission in Florence is called ‘Day at the Market’. At the very beginning of DNA Sequence 5, after the cutscene where you speak with Lorenzo, you are able to go on assassination missions. Before going to the first Memory Start icon, open the map and find the icon near where you are located. Ascend towards the icon and your destination will be a pigeon coop. Press to interact with it and Ezio will extract a piece of paper from the pigeon notifying him of his target. Accept the mission and go to the area where the target is (first highlighted by a yellow crosshairs). When you reach the general area, you will have to use your Eagle Vision to locate your target (hold ). He will glow yellow. Once you have found him, walk up and assassinate him.

  • Defend a woman's honor.

Beat Up events are first unlocked after the memory ‘Beat a Cheat’ in DNA Sequence 1 but none are available until DNA Sequence 2. You can locate them on your map by pinpointing a icon. There are five Beat Up events available to you throughout the game. Completing just one will unlock this achievement.

The first available Beat Up event in Florence is called ‘A Woman Scorned’. It is available after you complete the first DNA Sequence. When the next sequence starts, you will automatically be speaking with Annetta, your family’s live in servant. After that conversation, turn left and you will see a woman glowing white. Press to speak with her to find out that her husband is being unfaithful to her and wants you to beat him up. Accept the mission and when you have control again, follow the yellow crosshairs until it disappears and becomes a green circle on your mini-map. Activate your Eagle Vision (hold ) to locate the husband who will be glowing yellow. Simply beat him up as you did your sister’s boyfriend and the achievement will unlock.

  • Win a race against thieves!

Races are first unlocked after the memory ‘Nightcap’ in DNA Sequence 1. You can locate them on your map by pinpointing a icon. There are six Races available to you throughout the game. Completing just one will unlock this achievement.

The first available race in Florence is called ‘Florentine Sprint’. There is a icon near the Palazzo della Signoria, south-southeast of The Duomo. Locate a man glowing white in the northwest corner of the plaza and press to speak with him. He will challenge you to beat his time in a race. Accept the mission and the timer will start. You will have 1:30 to finish the race. Races are a test of your ability to jump and climb on buildings and rooftops. Follow the yellow crosshairs on your mini-map to your destination. If you finish before the time expires, the achievement will unlock.

  • Wear the Auditore cape in each city.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 11. After completing the memory ‘Practice Makes Perfect’ in DNA Sequence 3, you are able to place the feathers you’ve collected in a chest on your mother’s dresser in Monteriggioni. Once you have placed all 100 feathers in the chest, there will be a short cutscene with Ezio hugging to his mother and the Auditore cape will be unlocked.

Note: When you’ve deposited 50 feathers, you will unlock the ‘Condottiero War Hammer’ to purchase at Monteriggioni’s blacksmith for 35,000f (less if you’ve upgraded the Blacksmith).

Once you have control again, to wear the cape, pause your game and navigate to Inventory > Outfits > Auditore Cape and press to equip it. The cape gives you instant Notoriety in any city you visit and you can’t lower it by tearing down posters or bribing Heralds until you switch to another cape.

Now, to unlock this achievement, you need to fast travel to every city (located by the icon on the map). Go to the fast travel station outside the gates of Monteriggioni and select another city. When you appear in that city, just repeat the process. Once you have selected all four (Tuscany, Forli, Venice and Florence [go here last]), you must also visit the Apennine Mountain region where you met Leonardo and had that carriage chase before arriving in Forli during DNA Sequence 6. Fast travel to the ‘San Marco - East Gate’ in Florence (since that is the closest station to the Mountains), walk out of the gates and get on a horse. Take the northernmost path to travel to the mountains. The achievement will unlock as the game is loading.

Refer to “In Memory of Petruccio” for a video showing the locations of all 100 feathers.

  • Upgrade a building in the Stronghold.

You first acquire the ability to renovate Monteriggioni at the beginning of DNA Sequence 4. After speaking with Claudia in the workshop in the villa, you need to speak with the architect standing in the same room. He will explain to you that renovating the entire town will take lots of money. You make a promise to him that he will get all the money he needs to bring the town and villa back to life. Once you have finished with the conversation, you will be looking at a model miniature of the town sitting on a table. Scroll through the different buildings to find out how much each costs to renovate. The Tailor or the first tier of the Art Merchant is the cheapest to renovate, each only costing 1,000ƒ. If you have enough money at this point, press to select the building you’ve chosen and the achievement will unlock. If not, return to the villa when you do and follow the same procedure.

  • Synchronize 10 View Points.

This is story related and cannot be missed. View Points are locations on the map that when synchronized open up other viewable areas of the city. Unsynchronized view points show up as a icon on the map. There are 66 total in the game scattered between the five cities on your map. They are mainly located in towers that you have to ascend, and not all are available to you when you first enter a particular city; more unlock as the story progresses. Some are more difficult to climb than others, and may require some ingenuity on how to reach the top. If it is not evident that you can climb one from the bottom, you may have to leap from a building to reach hand-hold points.

Once you finally reach the top, there is an eagle perch on one side (the eagle will fly away as you approach the perch). Stand on it and press to synchronize it. Repeat this 9 more times to unlock the achievement. You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 2.

There are 20 View Points available in Florence total but only 13 will be available to you through DNA Sequence 2 (the other 7 are locked in areas you won’t be able to access until DNA Sequence 4).

  • Perform a Leap of Faith from the Top of Florence's Giotto's Campanile.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 1. In the center of Florence is the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, also known as The Duomo. Standing right next to it is Florence’s highest tower, the Campanile di Giotto. For this achievement, you must climb to the top of this tower, activate the view point and jump from its perch into a cart filled with hay.

To reach the top, you can’t start at the bottom. You must first scale The Duomo and reach the lower roof. From there, stand directly in front of the tower and leap to it. Begin climbing it, and about half way up you must move around to your left to continue to ascend. When you reach an open window, climb in. You will have to continue to climb from the interior. Work your way up to the top, climb on the ledge and stand on the perch to synchronize the view point. To get the achievement, hold down and and press up on the to perform a swan dive into the bale of hay below.

  • Intercept a Borgia Courrier.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 4. Occasionally while exploring a city, you may notice a person with an arrow above their head running around like they are being chased. These are Borgia couriers, or messengers. They are dressed in red/burgundy clothes with red capes and elaborate hats and are very skilled at free-running. When you locate one, they will often cry out for help and run away from you. As you chase them, they will try to avoid you by climbing and jumping across rooftops. These couriers do not show up on your mini-map, so if you lose track of one, it’s best to wait until another opportunity comes along; there will be many.

For this achievement, you must subdue a courier, not kill him. I do believe that killing them will give you this achievement, but it will increase your notoriety by 50%. As you are chasing him, when you think you are close enough, press to tackle him. This will prompt him to give you his florins and unlock the achievement.

If you are having difficulty catching up to one, you can use a throwing knife to make him stop. This will not kill him and give you enough time to reach him and take him down.

Couriers are not to be confused with pickpockets, who show up as a icon on your mini-map. They are equally skilled in free-running and are dressed usually in grey or brown with no cape or hat. Subduing a pickpocket will not unlock this achievement.

  • Use your Eagle Vision to scan a Glyph in the environment.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 2. Glyphs are markings located on the walls of landmark buildings. As locations are added to your database, some entries will have a icon in the top left corner, signifying that this location has a glyph somewhere on it. There are 20 in all located in the five cities. They glow white so are visible to the naked eye. When you find one, stand (or hang) in front of it and hold to activate your Eagle Vision, thus unlocking this achievement.

The first glyph available is at the top of La Rosa Colta, the building where you agree to meet Annetta at (to start the memory ‘Fitting In’ in DNA Sequence 2). Refer to “A Piece of the Puzzle” for more information.

Refer to “Vitruvian Man” for a video showing the locations and puzzle solutions for all 20 glyphs.

  • Unlock a piece of Subject 16's video.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 2. Whenever you scan a glyph, you activate a puzzle that you need to decode which is a segment of a vision called the ‘Pieces of Eden’.

Following “Tip of the Iceberg”, you need to solve the puzzle presented to you which involves selecting five pieces of artwork that have similarities with one another. There is no time limit. When you pick out the correct “mythic scenes”, you will unlock the first file of the vision and this achievement.

The first glyph available is at the top of La Rosa Colta, the building where you agree to meet Annetta at (to start the memory ‘Fitting In’ in DNA Sequence 2).

Refer to “Vitruvian Man” for a video showing the locations and puzzle solutions for all 20 glyphs.

  • Buy a Painting from Florence and Venice.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 7. When you begin DNA Sequence 4, you are in Florence again. While you are there, make sure you stop by an Art Merchant (located by the icon) and purchase a piece of art. It doesn’t matter which painting you buy.

Then later in DNA Sequence 7, when you are finally in Venice, again, locate an Art Merchant and purchase a piece of art. There is at least one located in the San Polo district you are currently in. If there are none visible, synchronize a few View Points until one appears. The achievement will unlock shortly after.

  • Reach 80% of your stronghold's total value.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 9.At the beginning of DNA Sequence 4, you will have the ability to upgrade Monteriggioni to bring prosperity and wealth back to the city. The more you renovate, the more people spend in your city, which generates revenue in the villa’s coffers for you to renovate and upgrade even more.

Your goal is to bring your stronghold’s value up to at least 80%. To do this, you need to upgrade each building in the city. You do this by speaking with the architect in the villa’s workshop. It costs 86,000f to entirely upgrade all the buildings in the city. But this won’t get you to 80% alone. You must also adorn the villa by purchasing paintings from the different five cities to display in the villa, upgrading Ezio’s weapons and armor and finding treasures (feathers, Codex pages, Assassin’s Tomb seals, etc.). Even assassinating Templars raises your percentage. Each time you upgrade the value of the city increases, generating more money.

Your sister Claudia keeps a book of all the upgrades and how much money the city is generating. To look at it, go to the villa and speak to her in the workshop. The book shows your current percentage as well as how much money each area is generating. Once you have upgraded enough to reach 80%, the achievement will unlock.

  • Tint your clothes with those colors: Wetland Ebony and Wetland Ivory.

For this achievement, you have had to progress to DNA Sequence 6 when you enter the town of Flori. Your first goal is to synchronize a few view points so locations show up on your map. Then, locate a Tailor (marked by a icon on your map) and speak with the shopkeeper. Select ‘Dye Clothes’ and choose to purchase both colors of dye. It will take 2,300ƒ to purchase the Ebony dye and 150ƒ to purchase the Ivory dye.

  • Collect all the Feathers.

You can unlock this as early as DNA Sequence 11. Following the memory ‘Petruccio’s Secret’ in DNA Sequence 1, you are able to start gathering feathers, one of the collectibles in this game.

There are 100 feathers dispersed throughout the five cities. Some are in plain sight and some are hidden, but they are really not difficult to obtain. Using your Eagle Vision (hold ) allows you to see the feathers better as they glow white like treasure chests and glyphs. Once you’ve collected your 100th feather, the achievement will unlock.

Number of feathers in each city:
    - Florence – 27
    - Monteriggioni – 4
    - Tuscany/San Gimignano – 11
    - Romagna/Forli – 12
    - Venice – 46

To see how many feathers you’ve gathered in each city, pause the game and select ‘DNA’. From there, use to move down the strand until you reach ‘Feathers’. Press to further open that strand. Move through the different cities to see how many feathers you’ve collected in each. For Florence and Venice, press again and it will break down how many feathers you have collected in each district. Unfortunately, there is no in-game map of the feather locations.

  • Spend 5000 florins on Courtesans.

Courtesans are the groups of women scattered about the cities with a blue flower icon above their heads. You gain the ability to hire them during the memory ‘Fitting In’ in DNA Sequence 2 after you train with Paola how to blend in with people.

When you hire Courtesans, they follow you around to distract any guards that succumb to their charms. To hire them, stand near them and press . It costs 150ƒ each time to hire them. As a result, you will have to hire Courtesans 34 times for this achievement to unlock. You can keep walking around finding them or just play through the game and use them only when needed.

  • Toss more than 300 florins on the ground.

You obtain the ability to toss florins during the final memory in DNA Sequence 2 called ‘Arrivederci’ while escorting your mother and sister out of Florence. To toss florins, you must first select them on your weapon wheel by holding and moving the to the bottom left corner of the wheel (to the immediate left of the fist). Then all you have to do is press and you will toss 10f on the ground. You must toss at least 30 times for this achievement to unlock, so you can just stand there and toss 30 times in one go or walk around and toss them to distract people when guards are chasing you to slow them down.
