Assassin's Creed III

Assassin's Creed III Achievements

Coureur des Bois

Exchange undamaged pelts at all different general stores.

To get an undamaged pelt, you must kill an enemy while your "first" icon in your weapons is active. This usually involves punching the animal if you are running around carelessly spamming the button. You then trade the pelts that are in perfect condition as indicated by the description. You must sell at least 1 of any animal pelt to every general store. There are a total of 3 stores in each area (3 stores, 3 areas, 9 total). You have to get close enough to the door for it to show up on your map. Use the below list to check the stores you have sold perfect pelts too. There is no other way to see which store you sold one too. It is up to you to keep track of this.

Boston Stores

  1. Hancock's Store No. 5
  2. Elizabeth Murray's Fineries
  3. Child's Still House of Dry Goods

New York Stores

  1. Rhinelander's Sugars
  2. De Lancey's Imports & Goods
  3. Van Brugh's Spices

Frontier Stores

  1. The Walking Haberdashery
  2. The Milliner's Wares
  3. Murdoch's Barter

You have to sneak up on an animal and kill it with the hidden blade, there was a mission with Connor where you did the exact same thing.

You don't have to sneak. If you do the cinematic quicktime kill it counts as well.

I used the bow to kill any small game that were out of knife range and they were undamaged, plus you get your arrow back. defending yourself from aggressive game also produces undamaged pelts.

In order to obtain this achievement you will need to sell Undamaged Pelts to all the General Store Merchants. This is quite easy to do, once you unlock New York of course.

There are 9 General Stores Total. 3 to each area. You'll notice an E on the map if you have discovered it already. Sometimes the game will recognize it without you having to enter, other times I had to walk in the place before it appeared on my map. Look for a building with red trim reading "General Store" and 2 flags hanging from it.

The 3 in the Boston Area are Hancock's Store No. 5, Elizabeth Murray's Fineries, and Child's Still House and Dry Goods. These are spread through each District.

The 3 in the New York Area are Rhinelander's Sugars, De Lancey's Imports & Goods, and Van Brugh's Spices. These are als

my achievement isn't unlocking for some reason. All my kills are cinematic and running kills. I don't know why it isn't unlocking.

I always thought that was more of an L. £ for English pound just like $ for dollar.

Do the peddlers count or is it just the general stores?

I initially had problems with this one too. Not quite sure if the pelts had to be from your own kills or from the huntress. I also made sure the description said the pelt was in perfect condition before I sold each one in a store.

I sold undamaged pelts to every store in Boston, New York and on the Frontier and no achievement. They really need to fix the games glitches. It has a ton of them.

it's very likely this has to be done in one sitting, which would explain most of the issues people are having with it. I'd sold plenty of perfect pelts before, but to get the achievement to unlock I had to revisit all 9 stores all during one session without quitting out. And the store in question I had DEFINITELY sold a perfect pelt to before. So my advice would be to hold out until you have all the stores available and fast travel for easy access and just go from store to store all at once.

Yeah the 3rd one - Child's Still House of Dry Goods is found at the next building just south of the lowest dice on the map shown here. It is pretty much at the point if you drew a lime south of the middle store and and west from the southernmost Harbormaster which is on the East coast. Hope that helps!

Kill me now.

I've gone to all 9 at least 3 times now. First I thought maybe I missed one. Then I thought maybe I accidentally sold a damaged pelt (even though it always says "This pelt is in perfect condition". Then I thought maybe they had to all be of a certain value and Hare pelts don't count. Nope.

Still keeps saying only 1 shop unlocked on the Frontier everytime I start the game too. Which might have something to do with it. They're there, bold and the fast travel is unlocked. But I have to go in to each one again for the map to update, every time I load the game.

Yay! Fourth time's a charm!

Side note: my map still says I only have 2 shops unlocked in NY. I am in video game QA for a living, so I understand it is impossible to thoroughly cover a game like this before launch. Most AAA games have more play time in the first 24 hours they're out, than they do the entire dev cycle. But I honestly don't even know how this passed Cert. Great game, my favorite of the series so far. And most of the bugs are just amusing. Most of them...
