Less than 5. The other achievements are there to just f*ck with your mind. Thank the Riddler.

You get loads of riddler trophies and after a while you get to rescue a hostage, since theirs 436, its about 78 for each hostage.

There's probably 6 of the actual challenge ones where you have to save someone, then there's most likely a load of others much like in the first game where you just find a little statue.

There's around 400 challenges (riddles, trophies etc.), and when you've completed a certain number of challenges you're able to locate one of the six hostages. That's what I'd assume, at least.
Hopefully completing all the challenges and rescuing all the hostages this time round will let you lay the smackdown on the Riddler, rather than just hearing the police arrest him :D

Do you need to get every single riddler trophy and other riddle items? or is it a certain amount again?

You need 400 to reveal the Riddlers hideout, but the 40 catwoman trophies count towards it as well. So just grab the 40 catwoman trophies and you don't have to find 40 of the normal riddler trophies

Isnt 400 all of the trophys and extras though? i thought the catwomen ones were counted as something else

I believe there are six hostages total in the game.
The first hostage you rescue in the courthouse does not count towards this achievement. The hostages that count are the ones you unlock by collecting a number of riddler trophies/secrets etc.

For anyone collecting these this is a great site
As rather than going along with a video, it numbers the riddles so you can
easily locate the ones your missing.

@17 no the catwoman ones do count, they dont count towards the concept art,
but they do count towards this. at one point i got some as catwoman and when
i switched back to batman i had a riddle on the enigma machine waiting.

You will need to rescue all five other hostages before you are able to take on the Riddler. In order to unlock hostages, you will need to collect a substantial amount of riddles, riddler trophies, catwoman trophies, joker teeth, demon heads, tyger cams, etc. etc.
For the record, I had 400/450 collectibles when the final confrontation with Riddler began. Some of those were catwoman trophies and challenges, so I am unsure about whether or not you will need to collect everything if you have not downloaded the catwoman DLC.
If you do have the catwoman DLC, then collecting some of her items may be easier than collecting some of batman's harder ones.

You need to have between 360-375 in order to find his hideout. Go all the way to the marker and shoot up to that large pillar then glide and dive bomb down and navigate underneath the bridge and over the electric fence then you can release it, The door is near the electric fence on the right.
1. You cant open the door so shoot up to the top of the room and remove the small metal door and crawl through the space until you drop down
2. Simply avoid the hostages (Getting in their way will detonate the bombs on their heads) and follow the walkway they are taking to the breakable pane just above you (There the Riddler is, Using Detective Mode makes it easier to see him) and just hit Y while underneath the pane to take him down and the achievement is yours

Starting to get annoyed with this now. I've completed main storyline and missed some trophies and things in wonder tower, and a couple in steel mill I can't seem to get either. I've got 376 riddler secrets and 12 of the catwoman trophies and still no contact from the oracle that she's found his hideout. The only trophies I've missed collecting are the ones that I just cannot get, even with the guide posted above. I just wanna punch Riddler in the face, lol

You need 400 collectibles TOTAL. This includes all trophies, joker balloons, demon heads, joker teeth, etc. They ALL count towards this achievement.
The catwoman DLC helps you get more riddler secrets for this achievement. For example if you have 360 Batman secrets, and you collect 40 Catwoman secrets, then you will have 400 total.
Without the catwoman DLC you will have to collect all 400 Batman secrets for Oracle to find his location.

Since you have all 40 Catwoman trophies, you are left to discover the rest of Batman's items. Keep collecting until you reach 400. Then you will unlock the final hostage.

This last Riddler room was a HUGE disappointment. Almost no skill to get through. I would've liked to see some sort of 3-tier challenge, and this entire room would've been good for the first tier.
I like exploration and collecting flags. Is that so wrong?

I stopped playing this game for a while but I did today and I got this one. You need 400 riddler challenges completed it doesn't matter which ones (you can have 385 for batman and 15 for catwoman or all 400 for batman and none for catwoman). All you need to do is grapple up above the door, crawl through the vent, drop down and walk behind the hostages until you get directly under riddler and it gives you the takedown prompt.

why is everyone bitching about these achievements? it's 190 points to get all the riddler trophies and save the hostages. it's called an achievement for a reason. it's not supposed to be done easily. if you don't like the task, don't do it and miss out on the achievement. that's the great thing about games like this, they put extra hours of gameplay in so you get your moneys worth. if you want easy achievements, go buy disney games.

Well i hate this collecting stuff thing, but if they somehow give you the locations on the game map, like AC2 or Far Cry 3, its very enjoyable. What sucks is having to watch YouTube videos, or look for interactive maps and manually check them yourself.
So please devs, if you want us to collect stuff add location maps ingame.
