Batman: Arkham Origins Achievements

I Am The Night

Finish I Am The Night Mode

I Am The Night Mode will unlock after you have completed your New Game+ playthrough. Almost everything detailed in the New Game+ achievement applies to IATN Mode, which includes the removal of the counter indicator in combat and an upgrade in all enemy types.

The catch of this new mode however, is that you can not die AT ALL during this playthrough, for you will only have one life. If you are unfortunate enough to die at any time during the game, you will be reverted back to the Main Menu. The game will still have autosaved enabled, so don't worry about having to complete this playthrough in a single sitting. This is a nice reminder to fall back on when you are approaching a difficult section of the game and want to quit out of the Story or shut your console off.

A great tip to utilize during this playthrough - although a bit complicated - would be to grab a USB device and plug it into one of the ports of your Xbox. Now, when you reach a certain checkpoint or part of the game where you think you may die due to an upcoming boss battle or enemy encounter, you can quit to the Main Menu and then go to the Xbox dashboard. Now head over to the dashboard's System Settings and into your Memory hub. Copy your autosave file which is the "Hard File" onto your USB device. This acts a failsafe in case you die next time you boot up the game and try progressing through the story. Now head back into the game, and if you do end up dying at any point, simply go to the dashboard and reboot the game. At the Main Menu, when it asks you to select a storage device, choose your USB and you will resume the game at your copied autosave file.

This method might sound a bit complicated, and it's not entirely necessary either. An alternate, and much simpler method, would be to pause your game right before you're about to die or if Batman is in the slow motion death animation (before the black screen appears) and just quit out to the Main Menu. When you boot the game back up, you will continue from your last autosave.

Whichever way you decide to tackle this playthrough, just remember to be alert and quit out of the game IMMEDIATELY if you think you're about to die. Good luck, folks!

My guess is that you've got to go through the whole game without anyone being aware of your presence, unless it's scripted.

Given that it's listed with the MP achievements, I think it's more likely that this is the Arkham take on Horde mode. Probably waves of predator enemies/maps, with increasing difficulty.

@7 Horde-mode-achievement worth 70G? I don't think so..

@9 - No... I can definitely see this. They have a game type that's a 1vs100 kind of deal. You don't rest between 10s or 20s or whatnot. It's all 100 in one go.

Starts off with the wimpy guys; then moves on to tougher, more armored, more armed enemies.

I'm actually looking forward to trying this out, as I enjoyed the challenges in the other games.

I'm guessing like a VERY hard mode.
No getting spotted, no detective mode etc.

It's a 1-life-no-saves mode that unlocks after you beat NG+.

yeah no saves and 1 life... this achievement is going to prevent a lot of people from finishing the achievements :( finishing the whole game in one sitting is lame, plus i'm guessing it has an increased difficulty so ... bah humbug

Someone on the Arkhamverse boards tweeted Eric Holmes about this achievement. Holmes indicated you CAN save you just cannot die. Dying reverts the save progress back to the beginning. According to Holmes you do not have to complete this in one sitting. Still going to be a challenge, but a little better that you can save as most of us do not have that amount of time to just veg on a game.

A lot of quick saving I am assuming like in my clean hands Dishonored runs.

Backing up your saves on a usb-drive might also help.

So what, if things start to go bad, you just reload your game before you die? That way you can try again?

@ #17 that's what I was thinking. Or exit to the dashboard or even turn off your console if you had too.

Let’s start with the hard mode. Unlocked after players have completed the main game and then New Game Plus, I Am The Night Mode will give you just one life and not allow you to save.

This isn't NG+, you can see there is a separate achievement for that in the list. This is a completely separate difficulty.

This might be trivialized if you can just quit before you die. There's no surprise instant kills in Arkham games like there are in other games with similar difficulty modes. But its another playthrough so I'm not gonna complain.

It is established that you only have 1 life but will it be on the highest difficulty or just normal?

The only problem I foresee are the boss battles. If it is on hard then Some of the boss fights will be hard cuz the counter symbol and stuff wont show. I'm playin new game plus now and death stroke was pretty hard cuz I forgot how one should counter and fight. Almost like ur fighting blind. I would have a walkthrough standing by for boss fights I guess

To anyone having trouble or thinks they will have trouble this, it's easier than it seems. Answering an above question i think the difficulty is set between normal and ng+ (possibly hard difficulty, i haven't played on that setting yet). The only tricky parts to this where a couple of boss fights. Copperhead and bane caused some hassle but there's an easy way round this, you can restart checkpoints with no penalty. This achievement shouldn't take too long to get either if you just blast through main story missions. Hope this helped at least someone!

For those that don't know 'I Am The Night' mode saves your story data unless you die in which case it deletes all progress for i am the night mode.

For anyone that misses the restart, for example if you fall into electric water, if you dashboard before the save finishes you're ok to continue as well

can anyone tell me, on 'I am the night mode' do you keep percentages and collectables and shiz? im on rank 13 for 'worst nightmare' and don't really want to start a new game after this just to get that achievement.

Is the counter gone... is it just like NG+? If it is I'm ganna die stupidly. Need that counter grr >>;

The combat system in this game is still off. But I know they buffed it up with enemies being stronger faster which makes them lunge at you it's a modifer I notice in combat challenge mode.

Restarting checkpoint doesn't force the game to start over. So simply restart checkpoint if you know your going to die. Is that simple.

intresting thing people are complaining about the copperhead boss fight it was harder at first but then i realized the fake copperheads are 1 hit kills so just span quickfire explosive gel all the fake ones are gone and its really easy against copperhead alone

Unbelieveable. I was just about to finish this, in Blackgate with the the electrified water. I blew up the weak wall and went to glide to the next platform but instead of gliding he FREAKING JUMPED AND FELL IN! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!!! GUESS IT'S TIME TO RESTART!!!

That's not such a hardcore, hardcore mode....

1st you start with all your upgrades... 2nd you can restart anytime... Only gotta be carefull with a couple of parts where you die one hit... Else it's really easy compared to hardcores like dead space or so or so...

Actually just finished this mode recently. It's not as difficult as people think it is. I honestly feel that I Am the Night Mode is Normal mode but without the counter prompts. I had a bit more trouble playing NG+ than this mode.

As some have said above, if you get to a point you feel you're going to lose, go to restart checkpoint and try again. Also, you only need to finish the main story. You can skip all the side quests if you want.

If you want, you can use the cloud storage to have a backup. Copy your main save to the cloud and play off of that to avoid dying at some point and losing your progress. Just make sure you copy the saves frequently when you are done with difficult areas.

If you mash that X-Box button fast enough, then sign out and start the game again, you're right at your last check point.

It's not really as hard as you think it would be just follow the last method and exit the game when near death and be super careful during the predator encounters especially Deadshot's cause those are a bitch

Im so through with trying to get this achievement. Ive gotten to Bane's final fight only to lose. Then tried again and got to the cutscene after I defeat Firefly, and in the middle of it the screen goes black and theres Firefly boasting how he defeated me and the you failed text at the bottom.
