Introduction
Welcome to Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the sequel to the first Battlefield: Bad Company, created by DICE. The game is much more user friendly than the first, and much more straight forward. Prepare to fall into combat and firefights for the safety of the United States. Chose from a full arsenal of weapons from AK's to LMG's to various Rocket Launchers. Enjoy the goofy characters that are back to fight for the second time.
Breakdown
The game is beyond straight forward. Shoot enemies and blow stuff up. All of the achievements can be obtained on the first playthrough. Follow this M-Com guide as you progress through the story to get your Satellite Uplink related achievements.
Step 1
Start a new campaign on Easy. There is one difficulty-related achievement, It sucks to be right for beating the last level on Hard, but you can play the entire game on Easy first and then just load the last level. As you start, follow the M-Com guide. As you walk over the various weapons that your enemies drop, pick them up, and keep them if you like them. They will be added to your collectibles and can be used whenever you arrive to a weapon resupply station, which appear as envelopes on your map. You’ll need to find 15 different weapons to get the collectible-based achievements. As you progress through the campaign, make sure to use the different weapon variants to get the "Get 50 kills with Shotguns, Snipers, Assault Rifles, Light Machine Guns, and Sub Machine guns". Once you finish the campaign, you should have unlocked:
-All story-based achievements.
-All ‘50 kills with X weapon’ achievements.
-All satellite uplink (M-Com station) achievements.
-All collectible weapon achievements.
-The achievements for destroying 100 and 1000 objects.
-The achievements for demolishing 1 and 50 houses.
If you are missing any of the ‘destroy objects’ or ‘demolish houses’ achievements once you have finished the campaign, load up "Heavy Metal" in the campaign as you take control of a UAV and destroy the houses/objects around the enemies that you are supposed to take out. Rinse and Repeat until unlocked.
Step 1.5
Once you have completed Step 1 and gotten ALL of the campaign related achievements, you should be missing but one single campaign achievement. Go to "My Campaign" in the main menu and choose the level "Airborne”, and then set the difficulty to Hard. Completing this final level will give you your final campaign related achievement.
The next part is to get the remaining 400 . This all takes place online, in the Multiplayer. How quickly you will unlock these largely depends on your skill and how patient you are with the game.
Step 2
Multiplayer. Oh, how some dread you. It must be done, if you want the achievements, that is. If you do not want to boost the online achievements, please visit the Achievement Trading Thread. If you're playing the online part without boosting, you are in for a fun experience! Find yourself a group of buddies to play with on your epic adventure of leveling up and gaining achievements. While you’re playing, make sure to gain experience with each of the classes by killing people and completing objectives. Take a note of the various online achievements, so you’ll know how to unlock them. The list of awards and their description is also important. Most of the achievements are straight forward. If you need any help on how to get these certain achievements, check the guide and follow the instructions on how to get the achievement you are looking for.
Note: All multiplayer achievements are only obtainable in ranked matches.
Specact DLC
The SPECACT guns are different variations of the final gun unlocked in each class. You must use this gun to unlock the specific achievement. Get a 5 kill streak, 8 kills in one round, and a total of 100 kills with the weapon all together.
You should begin with the weapon stars for each gun in mind. The 2 achievements for earning a silver, then a subsequent gold star for each weapon, will undoubtedly take the longest amount of time to unlock. Be conscious of the amount of kills you have with your current weapon, as 100 kills is enough for the gold star, so you should switch guns after getting to 100 kills with any of them. The next achievement to take into consideration is 'Great Balls of Fire', which is to get 20 kills with the newly added flamethrower. You will most likely unlock this before anything else, as you start with the flamethrower unlocked, so you could do this straight away. One of the first achievements you will likely unlock is, 'Would You Kindly STFU' which is for a simple task of shooting out a speaker on a specific level. You may not be the first to it, so you will have to wait until you play the map again if someone shoots it before you and hope you get to it first.
Step 1b: Vietnam DLC:
There are 3 vehicle combat related achievements to unlock, all for getting either a certain amount of kills with a certain vehicle or for getting a kill in each vehicle. All of the vehicles can be found throughout the new maps and are free for anyone to commandeer, so you just need to persist in acquiring them for yourself and getting as many kills as possible before the enemy inevitably destroys anything you are driving.
Step 2: Vietnam DLC
you will have the chance to unlock a further 3 achievements for superior battlefield performance. These 3 achievements are for winning on all of the maps, placing first position on the scoreboard after a match and for achieving the best squad performance on a particular map. These achievements are were skill will play the biggest part, as well as persistence, as you have to win eventually...right? This is were the less skilled players may want to set up a boosting session with like-minded achievement hunters. These achievements aren't necessarily hard, but can prove difficult to less skilled players. So whether you boost them or stick it out and persist your way to victory, you will have earned a further 65.
Conclusion
Well, by now you should be well on your way to a full 1000 . Follow the guide closely and you should have no troubles getting all the achievements. If you miss anything in the process, refer to the Achievement Guide.
