|There are two futures.|
Mission 7: Suffer With Me.
This achievement gets it's name from Woods, Hudson, and Mason all getting their knees blown off.

Like the devs said, there are multiple ways you can end the game. So I guess there are two?

Or, they are just mindfakin us again, dont know if its just me, but that silhouette looks a little like Woods, maybe old Woods meets the Young Woods, which then makes the future on that make it different. I think i just mindfaked myself too, but i wont detail what i thought more.

maybe you can have a playthrough where the future sucks ass because you made bad choices as opposed to making good ones? devs said you'll be playing in the 80's so maybe those missions set in that time era, if you dont accomplish your mission it affects the future? like if you dont assassinate someone, they end up coming back attacking the U.S.?

from the name "family reunion", i have a good feeling that it has something to do with Mason from BO meeting David.

@8 from what i've read on the BO terminal, Mason wasnt all too much of a family man. he was cut off from his family, so i doubt he would stay with another family when duty called for him. But, it is true that they probably have already met. What i suppose i shouldve said is "meeting up with" implying theyve met, but not for a long time.

This has nothing to do with going back in time, I know it's a game but CoD has never been THAT unrealistic.

@13 you cannot just replay a mission, you have to rewind the story to change the out come of the ending, or simply just start a new story lol

Just shoot him in the belly twice. Instead of the head. When you shoot him the first time he falls and then wait a few seconds. Shoot him again. Achieve pops

If you play it out right and do this achievement and good karma plus all the side missions you get to see what family reunion is at the end so far depending on if you let Menendez live or not open two more ending for 4 different endings. Now the way the game plays there should be at least 6 different endings 3 if you kill Menendez and 3 if you let him live.
if it was developed on what you do. if you let karma die and kill harper there should be the addiontal 2 endings.

There's a reason to shooting him in the chest. It's to see his face otherwise the bullet to the head would make him inrecognizable

If you shoot him in the head, Alex Mason will die and you will miss the achievement.
If you shoot him twice in the stomach, Alex Mason will live and David Mason will be reunited with after the last mission.

Dont listen to what Hudson tell you. Shoot him in the foot two time or something, but dont try to shot the guys who holds him, you will have to restart that part again, just waste of time.

In the mission, Suffer with me at the end of the level Hudson will come over coms saying that the prisoner in the truck is mernendez *SPOILER ALERT* it's not to get this achievement you shoot him in the leg twice you should see a cutscenes with woods saying "what are you looking so smug about" and pop you should have you some Gs

What do they exactly mean by "there are two futures"?
Does two futures mean: Mason dies directly / Mason will not die directly
Or do two "futures" differ from each other at the ending? It's a bit confusing

To everyone confused about the meaning of this achievement, let me clarify.
The description "There are two futures" refers to the fact that depending on this decision (to kill Mason or not), you will receive an ending cutscene upon completing the campaign that either contains Alex Mason alive or Alex Mason dead (among other events that depend on other in-game choices).
Also, the guide's spoiler hint is false. The name of the achievement, "Family Reunion", is because if you choose to not kill Mason (netting you the achievement), he will still be alive, and he will be in the cutscene at the end of the campaign, reuniting with his son David when David comes to visit Woods in the military retirement home. Hence, it's a family reunion.

It is just too easy to get Menendez like that. Not to mention I wanted him to suffer. It works out in the end.
