Does it unlock lower difficulty achievements too?

Yes-this being said, you need to unlock Paladin.

It's best to start on Knight-it's not that hard, and you only have to play each level twice.

Just to clarify, to unlock the paladin difficulty you have to beat the whole
game first. I was confused at first when it didn't unlock after I would
finish a level.

NO it is best to start it on the lowest dificulty than you will unlock paladin mode and ones u pass it on the paladin dificulty it will unlock not only the achivement passing it on paladin but others 2.

It is as others said. If u want to take the easy route, then start at beginner and collect your relics along the way, then do paladin to ignore the other two levels and use that mode to either do your trials if u can or collect gems/chests u couldn't get before when u first start off like at the fourth level u can't reach the chest that contains extra holy potions.

Is anyone else having issues with paladin difficulty not counting after you go through a level? I've had it happen on several levels where I'll beat it on Paladin difficulty, but I won't get it to count, until I go back through it AGAIN on paladin difficulty. I'm mopping up this and the trials, and it's frustrating to go through the stage and not have it recognize that paladin difficulty was on until I do it twice. It seems to be happening when I'm completing trials. I did the trials for the ice titan, the black knight and the troll on paladin difficulty that I remember off the top of my head, and none of them recognized it until I went back through and did it again. Second time through I didn't bother with the trials just wanted the difficult recognized. Not sure if anyone else is having

this same problem. I did notice that if I went through and did the trials on squire, then went through on paladin it recognized it first time through, so seems to be some sort of glitch that if you haven't completed the trial doing so on paladin will only get you the trial completion and NOT the difficulty rating. I figured I would get the remaining trials I have on paladin since I have to beat it on that difficulty anyway, and didn't want to have to play each level I gotta do twice since the trials are easy on Paladin. Meh oh well. I guess FYI do trials on Squire. lol
