Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Achievements

Epic victory - Chapter XIV

Finish the levels from Chapter XIV in Paladin difficulty

The achievements for completing the chapter on lower difficulties will unlock when you complete the DLC on Paladin difficulty.

There are two levels in the chapter in which you’ll be fighting a boss called the Forgotten One. He is not to be underestimated as he is one of the hardest boss in the game.

It is highly recommended to fully upgrade your Light and Shadow magic gauges (by finding all the gems in the game) and to have a full health bar before attempting both levels (load Chapter 5-2 to quickly refill you magic gauges and your health bar). For the best tips on how to win your fight against the Forgotten One, please follow this great guide found on PST HERE.

Hes a right mean s.o.b but if u learn his attacks and learn how to avoid them all and keep all your magic untill the last phase where hes twice as fast its still not easy! Personally i found his mace attacks the easiest to get in close and hit him with a aerial combo. On the last phase the first roar is your only chance for a free hit!

Yeah, this was almost damn impossible. Even the room with the 16 skeletons just to get to him was RIDICULOUS! If you hate yourself, try this on Paladin. The last section of The Forgotten One took me 4 1/2 hours to complete on Paladin! The only tactic that helped me was to run around about almost half the distance of the arena you're fighting him on, then when the camera zooms out and he either does: 1) Summon 4-5 spires and throws them at you at angles, 2) Swings his mace and slams it towards you or 3) Swings his mace, slams it to the ground and drags it in a half circle in front him. When he starts to do one of these moves, you need to run right towards him and do a single jump, double jump can work too if you are too far away to make it to his upper body. Every time I was able to r

To continue: Every time I was able to run towards him and get about 3-5 hits in, then ran back away. I wish Konami made a button where it made you sprint, instead of the double tap. Too many times I was doing this stuttering walk, when I should've been RUNNING. This was a tough DLC. Reverie kinda explains what happens to Gabriel, but Resurrection is way too short & WAY too hard. I'm just glad I got it half off last week, ;-).

Personally I enjoyed the fight through the frustrations and the sweet victory. Here is a good tip when fighting him on paladin level that I learned. When u have to aim for the head, he doesn't bother taunting u so how do u get your hits in? The best way I found which worked well was when he uses 2 arms to grab the two weapons to attack the sides than middle. When he does that, just single jump since the head is lower and put on your shadow magic and attack him midair. U will dodge and deal good damage. Once he finishes though hurry up and swimg down quickly and move away or he will hit u then. Godd luck to those who still have problems.

Goddamn, that was a hard fought victory over The Forgotten One. Didn't help matters that the checkpoints in both boss fights started me out one hit away from death, but through serious perseverance and determination, I finally struck down that cheap ass bastard!
