Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Achievements

King of the Kill

Play 5,000 matches of Arms Race or Demolition mode

This will most likely be your last achievement, simply because it's going take a very long time. Nothing really to say for this one except just keep playing those matches! If you can complete an Arms Race match quickly, then that mode would be best.

A better way to do this, at least currently unless patched, is to leave your Xbox running while you are idle and let the bots play in Arms Race on Expert. There is a glitch where if you are playing (or idling) offline with bots in Arms Race, one match will count as two. I would recommend idling this whenever you are not on your Xbox (while sleeping, eating, out somewhere, etc.), because this may end up becoming patched.

As far as the achievement itself goes without this glitch, I would suggest leaving idling the matches as sort of a last resort until everything else is done.

Nevander CreditsAyx for the "better way" mentioned above.

Fuck off Valve, really? This is your worse achievement list in a very long time if not ever (game looks great though)

I'm gonna just play this to death. Loads of people on here are already considering boosting and it's not even out yet. I'm not telling you how to play YOUR game but seriously. It's a good fps and will be better than any cod game out there.

Loving the moaners already! Arms race and Demolition are the most fun modes to play and matches are usually very short, this one will come with just playing the game.

Just because it's fun doesn't mean you'll want to play it that much.

Well I'm not moaning, I like an achievement like this because it will have me playing even longer than I would originally, but I wish it were for any mode because I don't want to be confined to just these or one of these if that's how the achievement works.

Look at the entire Steam achievement list and you'll understand. Most of these "grindy" ones are the highest ones of 3-4 of the same achievements on the Steam version.

might be able to glitch it like with the gears of war 3 match medals by leaving the console on in a loop, but I highly doubt they will add bots in an offline mode to bypass this achivo

@10 If it's exactly the same as the PC one then it will have bots, they also count towards to Steam achievements so no doubt they'll count on here too.

This is just going to support people being AFK A LOT to get an achievement. Thus ruining the fun of the game.

I'm hoping this can be boosted with 1 minute custom matches and turbo controllers.

It's sad, but I believe this achievement alone is going to turn off hundreds of gamers from buying this. It looks quite good from what I've seen so far regardless. I don't see myself ever playing 5000 matches on it though.

even if you were to boost 5000 matches would still take a seriously long time and would be very boring boosters are just lazy people who want to rush games striping most of the fun out of it but i do admit 5000 is a bit much 2000 or 2500 would of been better but i guess valve are trying to get people encouraged to play more maybe

waawaawaa people won't buy this due to an achievement. Have mercy people!

Either way I purchased it on PC as there are like 100 achievements + Bigger fanbase and community for CSS there. I hope people play it on Xbox though and it attracts new players of the game.

And in terms of the achievement. It will come soon enough if you're a diehard CSS fan!

I don't mind playing games and working for achievements but to have such a high one for a specific game type is a little unreasonable, especially having viewed the kindergarten level of achievements (trophies) they put on the PS3 release.

I play games mostly to spend time with my friends, who happen to be fans of classic CS (buying your weapons, etc.) so they mostly want to play the Classic game modes. This presents a problem, as far as this achievement goes.

That being said, here is the method with which I'm grinding matches while I sleep: I've been picking Demolition, Offline with easy bots, and the maps Bank, St. Marcs, or Shorttrain & rubber banding my controller. On average it's completing 4 matches per hour left running. I'm going to experiment with upping the bot level to see

This achievement is too long for me to bother. To get this achievement you will have to play 14 games a day for 365 days, or 161 games a day for a month. This a stupid achievement and not many will even try to get it.

Arms race games count as 2 games for some reason, so you really only need to play 2,500 arms race matches. It's still going to take a long time to get though, I played the game a lot when it first came out an haven't played it in a while and I have somewhere in the 500 games played area.

@28 what an odd glitch. Anyhow, if you need to boost, it's pretty easy. Just run the damn thing while you're at work or school or getting laid (right). Damn thing plays itself.

Grind ach's are stupid, period. I have never in my life played any game 5000 times. Even 200 plays is pushing it. Its a waste of resources to have my setup on and running, just to not play a game for weeks or more just to force some silly points to pop. The achievement system badly needs to have some rules against crap like this. Developers have too much freedom on achs, and very often make non-kids games basically uncompletable for the average gamer.

This is a really big grind but you can leave the game playing over night to get it. I've got into habit of leaving the game playing over night on Arms Race with Expert bots. The game starts a new round after every game so just start it up and go to sleep. Putting it in Expert mode also counts as 2 games for some reason?
