The True Horseman
|COMPLETE the game on APOCALYPTIC difficulty|
These achievements do stack, so you can choose to play the game on Apocalyptic difficulty and earn all three achievements in a single playthrough. If you're having a hard time with this, you can play on Normal to get the feel for the bosses and collect the Abyssal Armor, which will let you take less damage. You can get it in Normal and start Apocalyptic with it.

I beat the Normal difficulty in 23 hours. I was taking my time and exploring everything to make sure I had all achievements. Then I beat it on Apocalyptic in 13 hours, since I knew where everything was. To be honest, it's not much harder at all. I could have gone straight to Apo without doing Normal. You would probably get the Normal achievent anyways.
The good thing with Apoca is that you gain more experience from your kills and get more souls. It was soo much easier, pretty much essential, to beat the game on Apoca to get the "max out all weapons" achievement. Or else you don't get enough exp or souls to buy all the items from Vulgrim.

I tend to like to start out on normal difficulty on games and work upward...gives me replay value...lots of times if i play harder difficulties first..i feel i have no reason to replay and never play it again. But thats me. Makes me feel im getting my moneys worth outta the games.

Can anyone send me save on apocalyptic difficulty, right befor the end? I
completed the game on easy and normal and I'm not happy to know that I didn't
had to beat it on EVERY difficulty but just start on apocalyptic to get those
three... so please... send me this save :}

Finished the game on "Apocalyptic"-difficulty right away.
Some things that might get handy during fights:
- Use that Stone Armor spell you can buy from Vulgrim, and use it often.
- Learn how to time your block to launch counterattacks. Also, try to figure
out which attacks can be blocked and which have to be evaded (by dashing).
Hack 'n' Slay experience helps a lot here. :)
- Always have a potion hotkeyed.
- Enemies can't hit you during finishers. Use that to buy time, especially when
fighting against larger enemies like these four-legged behemoth thingies.
The bossfights all pass the Legend-of-Zelda-test: If you know what to do, it'll
be an effort to get actually hit. ;)

Its best to play on a lower difficulty first that way you can learn what to do versues the various enemies and bosses through out and find the numerous item locations as well. This difficulty will test your patiences so just take your time and remember to constantly save so you dont lose progress.

Just started my apocalyptic difficulty Playthru. this game is awesome I can't believe it had such a low rating well not low but it deserved better I can see the difference after the patch now with the screen not cracking. with the abyssal armor the game does seem easier

This game is actually quite easy once you have completed a a Playthru on normal difficulty unlocking the abyssal armor. on your apocalyptic difficulty Playthru focus on stones skin as your wrath ability. stone skin level 4 combined with a abyssal armor makes you almost indestructible at times. Mentioned earlier in this forum was a discussion of the hundred and 60 kills on the flying bird during apocalyptic difficulty this can be achieved easily by turning the sensitivity up. I achieved my goal of the hundred and 60 kills on my third try on apocalyptic difficulty after cranking the sensitivity up. To wrap this up as I mentioned in other achievement posts about this game after this game had been patched you can see the difference with this with screen not cracking anymore.and a much more flu

Fluid action sequences and gameplay. I believe that this game deserve a much higher rating than a 8.3 average after the patch I believe it deserves closer to nine

Did this on my first playthrough. It's kinda hard at the beginning, but as you progress and get better skills (especially the whirlwind) it get's really easy. And if there's a hard passage, just use your wrath abilities and the chaos form. For wrath I think the plague thing is the best.. Can't remember the name right now, though. It's the last one you can buy from Vulgrim.
So if you don't want to play it twice, just start on Apocalyptic right away.
I mean the game is fantastic, however for me it was the characters and story that made the game, not the gameplay, so a second playthrough could be very annoying, I think.

Went straight to apocalyptic and hopefully get the achievements for finishing on normal and easy as well as apocalyptic, I'm trying to get all the achievements but either way I need to make a new game to get the 160 kills on the Angelic Beast achievement. Then I will have 100%
Also does anyone know if I will still get the unlock EVERYTHING achievement even though I didn't do the 160 kills on the Angelic Beast? Msg me or Msg me on xbox live GT: LTvOrange

got stuck om this about 3 months after it came out and traded it. Bought it back and just finished it. After maxing out stoneskin and getting the whirlwind combo for the sword. this game became a lot easier the deeper i got. for bosses i suggest using the item that revives you if you die and also having the health packs. I DID NOT USE THE ABYSMAL ARMOR went straight for it and thats why it took me a few years to finish lol my game time on my first playthrough on apocalyptic finished at 17.5 hours and i got stuck a few times. Very attainable without the armor just takes some grinding earlier in the game. The ending was so bad ass!
