Step 1: Quick Tips
This game has one of the hardest 1000 on the 360 but that doesn’t mean it's impossible! This game is extremely difficult for a newcomer to the Dead or Alive franchise, but don’t let that put you off, the more you play the easier the game gets.
Here are a few basic tips:
Grapples: Whilst fighting is don’t try and grapple your opponent unless you are sure you can. Grappling leaves you wide open for a big attack so only do it if you are 100% sure.
Blocking: You want to block whilst in a fight but only until the opponent has run out of juice then start attacking, if you hold the block too long the computer will grapple you or start a devastating combo.
Surroundings: If there is a cliff in the arena try to push you opponent off it, but be careful not to be pushed off yourself.
Training mode: If you are having difficulty using a certain character, say Leon for example, go into sparing on the main menu and pick Leon, when in the game press and choose Exercise. This will run you through all of Leon’s moves so you can pick a few juicy combos to run with.
Panic moves: Every character has a panic move. For most of them it's (say your facing default forwards and the controller was a number pad) 7 Kick, this should do a back flip kick on most characters.
Alpha-152: She is the hardest boss in the Dead or Alive franchise so far, but there are several ways to outsmart her. First off she doesn’t seem to like running attacks. Double tap towards her to run then hit , , or (it doesn’t matter which) this will do a running attack and 90% of the time it will hit. Another trick is she doesn’t seem to like low moves, some characters like Brad Wong, Helena and Christie can get close to the floor if you press down and , when like this use kick or punches to get her off guard for some reason it seems to work. Another cheap trick is to just punch, some of the faster characters punch so quickly Alpha can’t get in. Don't move just punch, if that doesn’t work try it with which is single punch.
A.I. : The game is smart, The game knows when you're repeating a move or a combo over and over, so it will just reverse it. Simply just mix up your moves a little and you will do okay.
Step 2: Complete all story modes
Okay, this one is rather easy. First up go into game settings and put it on normal difficulty then put the health bar on lowest and timer on shortest. Next you want to go through the story mode with all of the fighters, doing this should unlock, Ein, Gen Fu, Leon, Helena and Spartain-458. First time around this will be rather difficult especially on the final boss. The more you play the easier the game will get trust me on this one. Like I said, at first the game will seem near impossible but it quickly gets easier. Whilst playing make note of who you like and who you don’t. This will be handy later.
Step 3: Time Trials
Do the same thing we did with the story mode but this time with time trials. Go into the game settings and put it on normal difficulty, shortest round time, one round and shortest health bar. Then play through the game with every character you have unlocked, there is no set time you must beat, just play the game through. If you forget who you have completed time trail with just run over the character and if you have completed it with that character a time should appear, if you haven’t it should be blank. Once this is done pick Hayate and go into training. Use this guide to learn Hayate's moves. The most important one being the QCF P - PP (pause) PP (pause) P - 8P - PPP 7K Combo. Once you are used to Hayate head back into time trail and attempt the gold, silver and bronze time attack achievements, these are not stackable so for silver you must complete it between 4:31 and 5:00. No sooner and no later. Once this is done head back into training and choose the character you were best with in time trail and story mode (if it's Hayate choose another) then run through that character's move set, learn some combos and head into time attack tag with that character and Hayate. Try to use Hayate more as he is the quickest and strongest character in the game. Again go for the time required for Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Step 4: Costumes
Time for the hard part, costumes. Go into settings and change the time trial difficulty to default, then head into time trial. It's now best out of 3 so you have to truly be better than your opponent. In the achievement guide is a list with how many costumes each character has. If you find a character too hard leave him. Do your best and don’t give up. It's hard but doable.
Step 5: Online
Head into the forum and find someone to boost this game with. You could try and get these achievement legit but it's very hard. The rest of this step is for boosters so skip if you want to do it the legit way.
Once you find a partner head into a room for 2 people, winner stays on. You should run through the Star achievements first. Have one person win 20 matches then have the looser defeat him for 30 points, both quit the match, start up a new lobby and do the same for the other one. Do this for silver and bronze. The reason for the quitting is sometimes if one person is dominating in a room it will stop handing out XP which is needed to get SS rank. Once all the star achievements are obtained just stay in a room with one person winning matches in a row until the XP goes stale, both quit start a new lobby and the person who was losing now start winning until the XP goes stale, this will take awhile but is the quickest way for XP. You need 195,000 points for SS rank.
Step 6: Costumes
You should now have a large amount of Zack's shop points, just buy the costumes you struggled to get. You can buy 1 costume per character every day, so it will take 6 days to get all of Spartan-458's costumes.
Step 7: Survival Mode
Ok now it's tough. You must survive, survival mode, 100 wins with a character. Again these achievements don’t stack up so you must get 100 wins, 80-99 wins, 50-79 wins and 20-49 wins. Same goes for tag and single. Use this guide for a good idea for how to do this. For single use Hayate and for tag Hayate and Ryu. If you feel more confident with another 2 characters use them but I found Hayte and Ryu to be easiest.
Collectables: Every time you win a match in survival mode the opponent drops an item, you must pick up all of these items. These disappear after around 20 seconds and you don’t have to collect all in one match to get the achievement. Also some are rarer than others. If you get the Xbox X-Mark or Xbox 360 pick them up, ignore your opponent and pick them up! Unless you’re doing well (70+ wins) then try to get it if you can. These come along once in a blue moon.
