Introduction:
Deadliest Warrior is based off of the television show of the same name. Much like the show, various warriors from different time periods and locations do battle, with gameplay being similar to that of the Mortal Kombat games. It's time to find out who truly is the Deadliest Warrior of them all!

Breakdown:
The battles in this game are fairly quick, some ending within 10 seconds due to instant-kill shots, or swift combos.

Single Player:
Like most fighting games, there is an Arcade Mode. This is where you should start. Most of the achievements, and the Avatar Awards, can be unlocked here. You can start on the hardest difficulty, Deadliest, to obtain Who's Deadliest Now?, but I suggest to start on Normal to get a feel of the game. If you don't heed my warning, go on to the next part.

Deadliest:
If you think you're up to it, you can attempt completing Arcade on Deadliest. Although you'll only need to finish with the Ninja, Viking and Knight to get Who's Deadliest Now?, you can keep going for the Samurai Helmet Avatar Award. This is, of course, assuming you have completed the Arcade on an easier level.

Some things to remember:
-Don't get cocky if you win a match. It only takes one second to turn the tables around.
-Be patient. There's a good chance you won't win the first time. Don't let it discourage you, though.
-If you haven't already, win the mini-games with all of the characters. You'll need to in order to obtain all the unlockable weapons for the Deadliest Arsenal achievement. You also earn these by defeating the character your playing as and by winning the Arcade with them altogether.
-If you're having trouble with using a warrior you aren't used to, try going into Practice and try out the combos.

Survival:
After finishing Arcade Mode with all characters (on any difficulty), Challenge Mode will be unlocked for Single Player. Under it, there will Survival. Here, you can try for Against All Odds. It will take some time, but if you use the techniques you picked up in Arcade Mode it shouldn't be as hard.

Multiplayer:
After completing the Single Player, it's time for some online Multiplayer. There is only one achievement here, it being Tournament to Kill, but playing locally can help boost for other achievements you've missed.

For the aforementioned achievement, you'll need to win three matches in a row in Tournament Mode for it to count as a "win." In total, you'll need about 30 Tournament match wins, assuming you win all of them in succession.

Mop-Up
If you've missed any achievements, now's the time to get back to them. That Was Sparta can be the most lengthy. I suggest going into Battle Mode and setting it to 5 rounds. If you haven't got it yet, you can also try for A Head of the Competition at the same time. Black Night can easily be done by using the Pirates Special Attack, +, just remember to run away before the grenade explodes. Pin Cushion, Flesh Wound, On Death's Door, Right on Time, and Shishkabob can be boosted locally with a second controller on stand-by, or online with a friend.

Conclusion:
Deadliest Warrior is a fun arcade title, with fun and interesting achievements, solid gameplay, great premise and an addictive multiplayer experience.

There are 15 achievements with a total of 250 points

  • Decapitate 100 enemy warriors as the primary player.

You should easily get this over time, decapitations are slicing off your opponents head, limbs don't count as they are amputations. Be sure to use a sharp weapon!

Alternatively you can use the same method as "Black Knight" to get easy decapitations. Use the Pirate and a second controller on local battle (use the Spartan to count towards "That Was Sparta!") and use the Pirate's special bomb move (press + ).

  • Kill 300 Spartans as the primary player.

This will take a fair amount of time to complete, the only method I suggest for now is to use a second controller, ensure rounds are set to their maximum and go into battle mode. Luckily fights in this game are fairly fast. Each round you win counts as a kill.

  • Win 10 online tournaments as the primary player.

You need to win three tournament fights in a row to count as winning a tournament. This may take a while, as you can become a victim of circumstance and take the occasional spear to the face.

Although I don't like to encourage it, you can leave games before it ends to prevent a loss. If you do this, when the match ends go to the dashboard, your opponent will keep their deserved win, and you will keep your place in the tournament, everyone wins! (Thanks to iNf3Rn0 Lan for this tip).

  • Stick 4 projectiles in a single opponent as the primary player.

This is a very easy one to do, I used the Samurai (any other warrior with plenty of fast firing projectiles will do) and just spammed my ranged attack at the start of the fight.

  • Defeat 25 warriors in Survival Mode as the primary player.

The best way to do this is to use the Spartan with the Xyele and Bronze Curiass (and ensure difficulty is set to normal). All you pretty much do is run directly at your enemies use a simple , , combo before they can get an attack in of their own, if all of the combo hits it should kill them outright. Just be aware of the Centurion when he has his medium range weapon equipped, be ready to block. The same goes for when a freshly spawned enemy pulls out a ranged weapon, quickly block and run in. I managed to get 44 kills using this technique so it shouldn't be too hard.

  • Perform a final strike on an opponent after your arm has been sliced off as the primary player.

Your limbs will occasionally be sliced off, but be aware once they are your health will gradually decline once this happens. You'll need your left arm to be sliced off so you can still wield a short range weapon to finish your opponent. To do this create a local battle and play as the Knight, Spartan, Viking or Centurion and use the second controller play as a Viking. Use the Vikings , , attack with his mid-ranged weapon and hope you cut off an arm. Then switch back to the main controller, quickly get the other character to critical health and use the finishing move. (Thanks to The Lazy Pyro).

  • As the primary player, kill an opponent while at critical health, with your leg and arm injured.

You should get this easily over time, pretty self explanatory.

Alternatively you can go into local play and with the second controller, use low attacks () 2-3 times until a leg is injured, then use middle attacks () 2-3 times until the arm is injured. Then finish off the other fighter with the injured one.

  • Perform only perfectly timed strikes to defeat an enemy as the primary player.

To get this you need to ensure that all of your attacks hit your opponent and that you also perfect them. This is best done against the CPU, as it is possible you cannot get this in local battle. Check the helpful videos link in the roadmap for an effective method for this.

  • Remove all four limbs from the Knight during a single match as the primary player.

The easiest way to get this is to use the Pirate against the Knight and use his special bomb attack (press + ). If the bomb hits the knight is immediately killed and loses his limbs and head. (Thanks to Ritual Beating).

  • Unlock every weapon and armor available for every warrior as the primary player.

You must win the “meat slicing”, “decapitation fight”, mirror match (fighting the same warrior as yourself) and final battle events for each warrior in arcade mode, each one unlocks a new weapon or piece of armour.

  • Remove an enemy's head with a projectile and stick it into a wall as the primary player.

Go into local battle and use a Spartan (with the unlockable heavy throwing spear, although I did get this with the Spartans normal throwing spear) and with a second controllerpick an Apache (or another light armoured character). Choose the Castle Courtyard level and move the lightly armoured warrior against a wall, move into close range and use the throwing spear. (Thanks to TRICKY1976).

It can also be done just by playing through the Spartans arcade mode on normal difficulty, just throw your spears at the start of the round. Sometimes it will stick in the head and others it will decapitate it. It doesn't have to stick into a wall.

  • Defeat Arcade mode on the Deadliest difficulty as the Ninja, the Viking, and the Knight.

Deadliest difficulty isn't too hard once you have played the game a little, work out how the CPU fights and you'll find it fairly easy. If not you can keep throwing yourself at it, as you can retry the fights after you lose.
