I hope it's like the ending of Splinter Cell: Conviction. You pick 1 ending and you quickly quit the game, reboot and pick the other endig.
I don't think that's gonna happen though.

I think in this game the ending depends on what you do through the game, so probably have to play through x amount of times

I don't mind this because this game will have me playing it multiple times, achievement or not.

This is going to be like the Ally achievements in the first ME. I had to replay the game a few times but in the end, I got way more out of the game and I appreciate the hell out of it. Looking at the some of the other achievements, multiple achievements may eb the only way to not go crazy getting to 1000

Or you could just save in the last room where it asks you make the final choice,
DX2-style and just reload that save 3 times to get them all. Remember to watch
the credits at least once for the post-cred scene and score an extra achi.

Tuesday, August 23, 2011 @ 03:58:12 AM
@8. nope. in theory, you could say there are two endings but that decision is not made in a direct way. near the ending, you have to talk with one of the two people and whoever you talk with decides the ending for the FINAL decision, which is to eith *spoilers alert* choose to initiate a self-destruct sequence or broadcast hugh's message.

@9 nooooooope. I talked to both, gave me 3 choices at the end + self-destruct.
And since I sincerely doubt the room changes whatever you do, you still get
3+1 switches at the end.

Got this one, really easy. You don't actually have to talk to Taggart or Sarif to get the options, the computer gives them to you. There are four options, three messages to deliver and the self destruct option. All you have to do is save after the last boss fight and just reload and choose the other options.

It's necessary to talk to both Taggart and to Sarif to get their respective options. I don't know if you can stil do Hugh's option if you lose the social battle with him.

You can select hughs option even if you lost the social battle. All you need is to talk to Taggart and Sarif before getting to the end

found them, in order to find david sarif you need to go to that room with the electrified water and yellow rods and to find taggart you need to take the elevator up from the warehouse (the elevator is in the northwestern corner in the second floor i think, you can see it in the map) and then explore the place you find (go to the end and you'll see a breakable wall and a level 5 lock, taggart is there. also be careful of the zombies, there are tons of them in that level)

When you are done choosing one of the endings just click continue and you will start right at the button selection for endings.
Also, some fun fact knowledge. This achievements title, "Deus Ex Machina" roughly translates to "God of Machine". I thought it was interesting to know.

Taggart is when you first go outside that has three or four levels. He is located on the most top level on the far right side corner. You will have to crawl through this area. Sarif is located in the basement. There are two ways to get to him; one being the elevator, just passed the outside part, the other is having no-fall damage and dropping down in the outside part. There will be a vent that you can get into that will lead you straight to him.

I just beat the game and reloaded it to choose another option and got the achievement. Just save before you get the dialogue from Eliza in the final room and then you should be good.

Not sure if anyone said this and I missed it but if you save right after Eliza's long speech (like right as you're able to choose which truth you want to reveal) you can load there and choose and get the achievement instead of having to save it right after you beat Zhao or before Eliza's speech.

Here is my help fo this. First you must talke to Taggart and Sarif. Taggart is on the top level through a door blocked by a beam in the open pump room space. Sneak to the back of the hallway and crash open the wall to talk to him. Then go back to your main quest and instead of turning left on to the walkway use the elevator and go down to Sarif. Fight through two rooms of guys and Sarif is on the left side in 2nd room. However its easier to go right at the back of taht room and take the vent to him. Then at the end save after Eliza's speech then reload 3 times for each ending. Watch the credits at least once as well for another achievement.

@32 Actually, deus ex machina literally means "god out of the machine." It was a term that was used in ancient Greek plays, where a crane would lower actors playing gods onto the stage, where they would pass judgment, save/doom the day, foretell something, etc.
In this game, Jensen is the machine, and by choosing one of the four options, he is playing the role of a god; holding the lives of the people in the tower in his hands, determining the flow of technological progress and choosing the course of human evolution.
