Devil May Cry HD Collection

Devil May Cry HD Collection Achievements

DMC1:Finish the game on Dante Must Die Mode

Dante Must Die mode is unlocked once you beat the game on hard mode. Enemies here are extremely aggressive, do lots of damage, and have more health than on hard mode. Enemies themselves can also use Devil Trigger here, which is the most challenging part of the mode. When enemies use Devil Trigger, they do not suffer from hit-stun - which means they can interrupt combos. This can cause a significant amount of frustration while attempting this mode.

In terms of general strategy, you need to completely change the way you approach the game and try to be less aggressive and consider tactical approaches more (as in what works against what enemies). It will be slow and you will die a lot, but patience and perseverance will get you through. The fact that you should by now have maxed everything should make this easier. Remember to abuse Devil Trigger and if you have money to buy regenerative items they're definitely helpful.

This achievemnt isn't that bad since in this game now, you can continue the save file you had on hard that you had from normal. Basically, your "Dante" carries over from difficulties now, which makes this achievement much easier to obtain then in the orginal where you had to start a new game on each difficulty. It's great that I can start the game with maxed out health and the weapons I like instead of having to unlock them again. Hope this info helps some people!

@4 I know that you could do this in 2-4 but did they add that to 1 in the collections? 1 is the only one that I haven't beaten on the collections. i did a while back on ps2 but I don't remember being able to carry over my Dante

@ #4 'What you talkin' bout Willis?' The origonal game on PS2 was based on unused data for Resident Evil 4. Thats why the game pays alot like resident evil. and If memory serves me correctly, Which i think it does. After beating DMC on normal, you just went Once again on the next difficulty, and you started the game with the sword 'Sparda' and any abilitys you purchased, making the game slightly more bearable. I mean theres a chance im wrong but im dan sure that was how the save's worked.

@5: I know you can do it in the collection. I am at level 17 on DMD with my Normal Mode Dante, so you can keep jumping difficulties. You just can't change the difficulty until you beat the game.

@6: I really don't understand where this tangent came from, but I know about DMC's Origin. I don't see what relevence that has to my comment, but I don't remember it in the original. I alway remember having to start a new game on the new difficulty. Of course, I was only 11 at the time DMC1 came out, so for all I know, I was just being a dumb kid and didn't realize it. Regardless, you can do it in the collection and that is great!

The most difficult achievement in the collection. Perseverance and practice will help you get to the last boss. Mundus is incredibly difficult as there is no fixed attack pattern. He also varies in how passive or aggressive he is. I recommend farming at least 10 devil stars to make the first phase easy, as it is the last phase which is the most difficult,

Mundus actually seems to have a pattern with his attacks. Its not that difficult, just be sure to have a vital star on hand.

I did this a while ago on the HD collection and over a decade ago on the PS2 and hot damn son I got reminded how brutal this difficulty was and I do welcome back the challenge.

Most of my playthrough was pretty easy, I had to grind holy waters as my safety net for fighting vergil 2nd time and grinded purple n green orbs for mundus.

Holy waters have no effect on mundus.

Also to note the spheres mundus summons should be shot down by your shotgun and yes the shotgun does powerful damage enough to destroy them in two or three shots at mid range so don't worry about getting to close to the spheres in the mundus lava battle.

Good hunting to you other players and for you guys that aren't very skilled or very willing into beating this mode your gonna have to suck up the pain and sepera
