DMC3:Complete Bloody Palace Mode

The Bloody Palace mode is unlocked after you beat the game on any difficulty. It is a gauntlet-styled mode where you must fight of a waves of enemies to proceed. Each wave's enemies will vary, and every 10th wave you will face a boss. As your progress though the different floors, enemies will get tougher and tougher.

When you beat a wave you will be offered 3 different portals:

  • A water portal that will take you up one level but give you health.
  • A lighting portal that will take you up ten levels but give you Demon trigger magic.
  • And a fire portal that will take you up one hundred levels but give you no health or DT magic.

In order to get through all 9999 levels you're going to want to use the fire portal unless you absolutely need more health. This means 101 waves of enemies with no health or devil trigger regeneration outside of what you earn in combat. Items and saving also aren't allowed in this mode, but it's still possible.

The keys to the Bloody Palace are the super characters and full upgrades.

Super Dante or Super Sparda still don't make this easy, but they make it substantially easier. You don't have to worry about devil trigger, because you have infinite devil trigger. You can also regenerate a little bit of health if you work devil trigger right. However, to unlock a super character you have to beat the game on Dante Must Die mode. Refer to Hell Hath No Fury... for more details.

You'll also want to have fully upgraded styles, devil arms, guns, and health for this. It's 101 waves of enemies and ten bosses. The orb grind is worth it if it saves you from having to repeat this. For more details on upgrading and maxing out your health, refer to these achievements:

  • Left No Stone Unturned
  • Big Spender
  • Trend Setter
  • Maximize Your Health

Even with a fully upgraded super character, this will be still challenging and will take about two hours to do. By completing Dante Must Die difficulty, you should have learned what works against what enemies, so utilize that skill as much as possible.

Well... At least I've had some training with difficult games after playing so much Dark Souls. I haven't played DMC3 since I was a angsty little thirteen year old, but I remember it being hard as hell for me back then. Can't wait to jump into these games now with some real experience under my belt :P

Dark Souls is not a hard game at all. Id say DMC probably takes the cake as one of the hardest game franchises of all time.

Ah, the inevitable "Dark Souls isn't hard at all" comment whenever that game is brought up. We envy your elite gaming skillz, bro. Really.

@9 it's a fact that when using a guide Dark Souls is more time consuming then hard. It's not unforgiving if you know where to get the right items. If you get cursed for example there are always purging stone dropping creatures nearby, just need a guide to know where exactly. 2nd playthrough is hard but I think everyone can complete that game within 120 hours. It took me 100-102 to complete and I checked the offical guide every now and then.
Looking forward to complete Dante 1,2 and 3!

@5 not necessarily. The worst Gears achievements are cumulative, but these achievements don't even do that! They ask you to complete it in one sitting!

@11 well i have never played these games. Im interested, but i just dont see how you can get done 10000 floors in one sitting. seem impossible or your xbox left on for a vary long time.

I'm never going to get this achievement because on PS2 i ALWAYS died on the floor with the 3 Grim Reaper boss things. I forgot what the hell they're called. I could never beat that goddamn floor....but I was a kid back then. Maybe I can beat it now?!?!

This shouldn't take more than 2 hours to complete even for newbies. There are 3 optional portals: a 1 level portal, a 10 levels portal and a 100 levels portal. Just take the 100 ones and you'll only need to complete 100 levels instead of 10,000/1,000.

hey boys, chill out its only 9999, but there are 3 portals after every round so, you can go up by 100 (hard round) or by 10 (normal round) or 1 (easy round) Its just about tactics and skill. If you are very good you can end up with playing only 100 rounds, if you need to heal from time to time, it could be more than 200, though. DMC4 has 101 rounds, and I did it, took me over 3-4 hours to get S rank. This is harder though.. :D

Much easier wants you unlock super sparda which i believe you unlock for beating very hard or dmd mode, infinite devil trigger = infinite healing :)

Why in the fudge do they have to be done in one sitting?

You'd think by porting this game they would add a save feature for this to come back again.

if u beat the game on very hard u can use unlimited devil trigger to beat blood palace. make sure u use the fire portal to skip 100 levels. if ur low on health go to the water portal [which is + level]. every 10 palaces [regardless of portals] will have a boss fight. good luck

I'm getting so sick of people complaining thinking that they will have to actually play 9999 levels of Bloody Palace lol Honestly why does barely anyone know about the portals?

@25- It's because people don't learn to read.

This wasn't really that hard. The only real hard part was when you get to over 9000 floors and the enemies have DT straight away but if you just take your time then you will be fine.

Got it on my first try!
I used Ebony & Ivory and Spiral, alongside Beowulf and Rebellion, with the style being Swordmaster (lv3). I used ordinary shirtless Dante (the new taunts are pretty swell), so I'm really proud of myself for getting it on my first try.

It's not that hard, you just need to play it smart and ALWAYS kill the Hell Vanguard(s) first!

If memory serves me correctly, when I completed BP in DMC3, I was using Super Vergil (the Nelo Angelo Infinite DT w/ healing)my tactic that I read up was go by every 1 portal until the 1st boss, then used either the 10 or 100 portal to keep going through BP bosses until I finished it all...with an occasion break (by going through 1 until the next boss again) if I seriously needed time to heal

My great tactic is to first Complete Dmd Mode for it grants you Infinite Dt, Health regen, and when you use you the Dt Reflux thing or that move with Virgil where it surrounds him with swords it also doesnt decrease Dt because with the other Super Dt Costume it doesnt have those things but Infinite Dt.
