Dragon Age 2 Achievements

Exorcist

25
Found and killed the undying Xebenkeck.

This is missable. Do this immediately upon returning from the Deep Roads Expedition at the start of Act II because it will be unaccessible later on. If you you spared Idunna’s life during the "Enemies Among Us" quest, you will find the letter at the Writing Desk in your estate. If Idunna died, you must interact with the evil tome at the Chantry or Viscount Keep to start the quest. You must find a total of 5 evil tomes (2 in Kirkwall and 3 in the Free Marches), unless you started the quest via the latter option, then you only need to find four.

Note: When you interact with each tome, you MUST choose the option to destroy it.

Evil Tome Locations

  1. The Chantry - Upon entering, head up the left stairs and it will be on a table to the left.
  2. Viscount’s Keep - In the back of the Keep that was previously locked during Act I. Can be found on a bench to the left of the large square room.
  3. Bone Pits – On the far east side of the Bone Pits, you will find an entrance to the "Cave".
  4. Wounded Coast – The entrance to the Dank Cave can be found by taking the right (western) path upon entering Wounded Coast. You want to take your third Southern path (first two are dead ends) and you will see the entrance.
  5. Sundermount – This tome can be found in the Abandoned Thaig, which can be accessed by travelling to Sundermount. Once there, head past the Dalish camp and take the left path and you will see the "Recently Opened Passage". Head inside and follow to quest marker.

After destroying all five evil tomes, travel to Darktown and enter the Evil Pit, which is located to the left immediately upon entering Darktown. Make sure you have a rogue with you as you will need one to unlock a door. You need to progress through the lair to find the Fell Grimoire. Finalize your party and prepare for battle. Interact with the Fell Grimoire and read it for two attribute points. You will now fight Xebenkeck and his minions. Emerge victorious for the achievement.

From what I have read, She is a Desire Demon... don't want to say too much so as not to spoil anything.

Where can I find her? I did every mission except for maybe a couple of the side
missions, beat the game and never found her.

You can find Xebenkeck in Act 2, during the "Forbidden Knowledge" quest chain.

When you go to the Brothel in Act 1, dont kill the chick named Idunna. She will send u a letter in Act 2 after Deep Roads giving you a quest called "Forbidden Knowledge". This quest will require you to detroy the 5 tomes of Tarhone(spelling?) then you can fight Xebenkeck.

This battle is no pushover. Just beat it now. Might want to pull your party back into the hallways before the boss room and fight the waves one at a time and not at once. Bring plenty of healing/stamina/lyrium potions. If you have the DLC, buy the potion that raises defense for 30 minutes too. Have fun.

You can still kill her and get this quest, apparently. You can get the quest from the book in the viscount's hall, so there's 5 books when you do it this way. Destroy each book:

(1) The Chantry - Upon entering head up the left stairs and it will be on a table to the left.
(2) Viscount’s Keep - In the back of the Keep that was previously locked during Act I. Can be found on a bench to the left of the large square room.
(3) Bone Pits – On the far east side of the Bone Pits, you will find an entrance to the "Cave".
(4) Wounded Coast – The entrance to the Dank Cave can be found by taking the right (western) path upon entering Wounded Coast. You want to take your third Southern path (first two are dead ends) and you will see the entrance.
(5) Sundermount – This tome can be found in the A

Continued

Abandoned Thaig, which can be accessed by traveling to Sundermount. Once there, head past the Dalish camp and take the left path and you will see the "Recently Opened Passage". Head inside and follow to quest marker.

Evil pit opens up in Dark Town. Use a rogue to open the door. Read the book, and kill her.

You don't need Idunna, as far as I know. I killed her and still found the tomes.

This achievement is glitched too, and it turns out a lot of mine have been glitched. It won't unlock after I've defeated her.

Begin searching for the books in act 2. Idunna's live/die decision is determined in act 1, though. As Auburok posted above, however, it doesn't matter whether you kill her. You can still do the quest.

This is very aggravating. I read the first tome I found and destroyed the rest and now I cannot complete the quest or find the Cave that Xebenkeck is in. Is there anyway I can still kill Xebenkeck and get the achievement?

U must destroy all 5 tomes. then you'll b able to complete this quest shes a desire demon and a pain to beat if your rank is low.

I would like to warn everyone (sorry #15) Do NOT read the five volumes, only the final book! You distroy all five books, not reading, and then read and keep the final Tome. Also, save just before reading so you can reset to just before the battle if you don't survive. As others have stated, this is no cake walk of a battle. The cave is on Sundermount, and opens only as part of this quest.

I read all books. The first gave me 2 Skillpoints and the others were added as junk for about 80 Silver. Could be a bug?

@Aburnok The path at the Wounded Coast is North not West. It's a right turn but on the map it would be north. And for further reference turing right would be east not west.

It is important that you do not read any of the books and destroy them except
the last one if you are going after this achievement otherwise you will not get it.

The fight with Xebenkeck was pleasantly challenging, except that for my first try I brought Merrill, Varric and Sabastian. I ended up having to go back and get Fenris and Aveline to beat it.

I didn't have any challenge with the fight, I was a rogue and I brought Aveline, Anders and Varric. Only had to use one quick-heal, other than that it was an easy fight on Hard difficulty.

It should be noted that this MUST be completed in Act 2. Many of the caves are blocked off in Act 3, making it impossible to get to the books.

I managed to complete this at the start of act 2 as a lvl 13 rogue with Anders Aveliene and Varric. Tough fight but good fun (normal)
